I use still the MK3 with great pleasure but I'll update to the MK4 soon. The belt tensioner got better, only one screw instead of two and looks more sturdy. Great work!

printing this atm, but i was wondering if there was a chance of moving the X axis Motor to the carriage? I'd like to remove the extruder of the X assembly but doing so might alter the balance of the Axis... thoughts?

ich benutze eine V6 vulcano gibt es einen Adapter für denn BLtouch da dieser ja jetzt zu hoch hängt?
könnte man das Carriege als step Datei bekommen da ich gerne diesen Aufbau auch an meinem ANET A8Plus verwenden würde.
aber der Abstand der Führungsstangen nur 46mm ist und beim Anycunbic 50mm ist ?
Da meine Selbstkonstruierte Halterung für den ANET nicht annähernd an die Funktionalität der MK4 Halterung heran kommt

Hi, super gemacht. Vor der Start noch eine kurze Frage; ist es erforderlich die neue Firmware(2.0.5.3) auf den Drucker zu installieren oder kann man bei der alten Version bleiben?
Hallo, es ist nicht zwingend erforderlich es ist nur als ergänzendes Angebot zu sehen, falls jemand auf marlin 2.0 wechseln möchte;)
Heute zusammengebaut, Testdruck läuft. Hatte Schwierigkeiten mit dem Stockdrucker und PETG die Sechskantmuttern reinzubekommen. Mit Gewalt gingen trotzdem alle rein. Die Anleitung war gut, jedoch die Explosionszeichnung etwas zu dunkel. Danke.
Is there a way to use dual 5015 fans?
I printed the carriage, installed it and turned on the printer, (i haven't flashed the firmware) but i have a problem, which is certainly simple to solve for you and for expert people, but for me it is not simple.
I turn on the printer and the noozzle does not move to the left corner of the bad, in the home position, but moves in the left corner buto outside of the bed because logically the two carriage are different and therefore I think it is normal.
How can I fix without flashing the firmware?

This might sound like a stupid question, but I will ask it anyways. I relay like the design and was planning to build the MK4 however I have been reading that there is either 5v or 6v options. What I have been able to find it that my I3 Mega S is a 12v hot end. Does that mean i can't use this design? Thanks

Hello. Outstanding project! But where I can install the BLTouch sensor?
The bltouch print parts are in a seperated folder. I did not yet manage to do a wiring instruction edpecially for my system due to the heavy amount of work and time for this Project. But the firmware im providing already includes the x and y offsets. The z offset can be set via eeprom (M851). You can check online for some instructions about wiring bltouch at Anycubic i3.

throw away all "standard" parts ?
@@luke752010 you only have to reprint the cover plate and additionally you will need the bltouch mount.

I'm surely late, you should already have discovered that the fan must push air on the hotend heatsink, just like in the original carriage. I'm leaving this answer especially for newcomers.

Thanks to the outstanding documentation and video I finally I printed all carriage parts, bought the required nuts and screws but the missing items are "Radial cooling Fan 5015" and "Axial Fan". Where I can buy they ? Is there any suggested link ?
In first place you can go with the stock Fans, there is an adapter to print for the usage of the original radial blower which was made by a user (check the comments / remixes for this). The axialfan has the dimensions of the stock ones which are 40x40mm. If you want to buy the radial Fan 5015 i would recommend to buy from Aliexpress Mellowstore the sell a good blower. If money doesn't matter you can search for sunon 5015 fan.

Are these fans mechanically and electrically compatible with the MK4 trolley and Ai3M connectors?
@@luke752010 Mechanically they 100% fine. Electrically - yes, except connectors.
Radial fan you found has 4-wire connection. This fan expects PWM signal from the motherboard in oreder to work - which printer does not provide. Better use the plain 2-wire version of the fan: tinyurl.com/y7dq88cm and keep original fan's connector head, connecting the wires of your new fan to it.
Axial fan is fine, but again, connector has to be replaced. There's no Noctua fan with the connector you need.
From the 3 wires used by Noctua fan we need two, black and red, which shall be connected to the hotend's plug, easiest of all via the header used by the original 40mm fan. Just cut the wire of Noctua near the connector and connect them to the header of the stock 40mm fan
Alternatively you can connect the fan cables to the plugs of the hotend plate directly (just solder them)

Auf der thingiverse.com Seite sind Anleitungen verfügbar wo das ganze erläutert ist- pla ist nicht für alles geeignet wegen der Temperaturbeständigkeit
Im new to 3D printing and im wondering what Material to use is best for this. I have ABS but im really unsure If ist safe to Print with the mega s. Should i use PLA instead?
Pla only is too weak in terms if its low temperature resistance some parts (fanduct and coverplate - as suggested in the information data sheet) will start to creep due to the constant heat impact
Wich Filament would you recommend?

Hi, yes of course thats one of the advantages of mk4 to be able to have variable preload on bearings as well as different bearing lengths ;)

@@puturai yes but dp not fully tighten them, you have to find a sweet spot where they run Smoothly
I buy mega s so ı have question. I think make this update to my printer but ı dont see how much and which screws we need buy. All this screws is the original carrieges? or we need the buy screws?
The bill of material is given in the project folder on thingiverse.com, the screws you need are not the ones from the stock carriage.

There you will find the zip folder to download the mk4 (which of course Contains in addition another zip folder for the Old mk3)
Moin Ich habe mal eine Frage und zwar ich habe jetzt ne Schleppkette dran wie kann ich die an die mk4 version befestigen
Dafür gibt's ein anderes rear bracket und einen Halter am extruder, die Kette wird mit den Endgliedern die bei den ketten dabei sind festgemacht
Welche Schleppkette hast Du benutzt? Ich würde ebenfalls gerne eine verbauen.

drucke mir grad die Teile zusammen und frage mich: kann ich hier meine Igus-Gleitlager einsetzen (beim MK3 musste man ja separate Plates drucken) oder muss ich zwingend die Original Lager verwenden?
Beim Mk4 kann durch die lageraufnahme inkl Vorspannung ohne jegliche Änderungen der druckteile auch auf gleitlager oder ruthex umgebaut werden :)

what is the size of the fan for cooling the hot end?

Bir mir besteht leider das Problem, dass die Bohrungen und von allem die Ausschnitte für die M3 Muttern zu klein sind. :(
Die Schraubenlöcher könnte ich ja nachbohren aber wie löse ich das Problem, dass mich daran hindert die M3-Muttern in die dafür vorgesehenden Löcher einzusetzen????

Oder hast du eine Idee wie ich mein Problem anders lösen könnte?
Zum einen sollte dein Extruder sauber kalibriert sein und der Fluss nicht zu hoch also keine überextrusion um eine gute Basis zu haben. Wenn das noch nicht ausreicht gibt es features wie "hole horizontal expansion" (Cura) mit denen man diese Schrumpfung kompensieren kann.
Die Bohrungen sind mit +0.3mm schon sehr großzügig gezeichnet. Die Sechskantvertiefungen sind in der Toleranz enger weil Sechskantmuttern sich schnell freidrehen. Sinnvoll wäre mal ein Maß zu nehmen von einer Vertiefung zB an der Coverplate um zu wissen wo man so liegt aktuell bei deinem druckteil.
Hallo, ich drucke Ai3M X-Carriage MK4 Montageanleitung schön kommt gut heraus, ich wollte nur eine Frage stellen, sobald ich zu den Einstellungen auf Arduino gehe, habe ich gelesen, dass der Sondenversatz: X = + 29, Y = -15) aber die z-Achse Welcher Wert sollte angegeben werden? Ich, der den bltouch nicht zusammengestellt hat, die Werte sind immer die Dankeschöns, die ich so schnell wie möglich spenden werde
Hallo, den Z-Offset muss man stets selbst ermitteln da sich dieser je nach nozzle / hotend zusammenbau leicht ändern kann

I installed this x carriage, but the hotend is now too low, and I've maxed out my bed knobs to the lowest point. Anyone else experiencing this and how did you correct it?
You might have printed the v6 Version and using a v5 (stock) hotend. Otherwise in case you printed the v5 parts correctly, you should adjust te z endstop trigger point with the long m3 screws above each z endstop on the sides of the Frame.

Sorry, but what is the material to use? PLA, ABS or PETG?
For longer heat resistance you should print the parts out of PETG, ABS, ASA or GreenTec. If you mainly print PLA, you could do a Mix ny printing only the fanduct and the coverplate of a more heat resistent Material and the Rest out of PLA.
Does the z endstops has to be moved to another place ?
No, only the long screws with the nut on the end on both sides for adjusting the trigger point above each endstop have to be readjusted.

@@ml-3dp240 die firmware ändern hat nur den vorteil das danach die motorrichung wieder past, stimmt das ? Bin anfänger und erst dabei das ganze zu verstehen .
@@buchrigler die motorrichtung passt auch so da ändert sich durch den Umbau nichts. Die firmware Pakete sind eher für so sachen wie mesh leveling oder bltouch etc.

Yes its slightly lighter in comparison to stock :)
