I'm surprised by all you can do with a simple vocal sample. Thanks for all this tips and tricks with the texture Lab. It gives so much ideas. This little instrument give way to our magination.

Seems loads less clicky than a MicroGranny to me. 😀

Can one avoid the looping of the sample part so that in a mixed setup only the granular stays as a tail when the speaking part has finished after sounding only once. If not they should put that in a.s.a.p. because it will also be handy with other sounds. Granular is not only about chopped up textures. If implemented well it also functions as a practical resynthesis tool.

Not directly. There's a hacky, imperfect workaround where you can basically add a modulator that will, in effect, stop the playback from looping by shifting the position or length after a given amount of time, but it will only do it within a certain pitch range, given the mechanics of how it works. I'd encourage you to share your suggestion with Sonicware. I have no idea how feasible it is, but they have a good track record of taking user suggestions seriously when creating firmware updates, and there hasn't been one for the Texture Lab yet.

@@SonicCartography The reason I don’t own one is that too many basic functions have to be emulated via this secondary route. Real time tweak recording only goes so far if essential stuff like proper envelopes and real-time control via MIDI is missing. Which is a pity. Still a nice instrument but not the affordable hardware granular I have been waiting for.

Absolutely love how this company came out from nowhere upsetting the whole gear market!

They've certainly come out with a lot of interesting devices in a short period of time!

Yeah, except not delivering the instruments with a power supply and the units requiring a very unusual power supply adapter.
