    If the outrider was compatible with other units, say Wahoo, Hammerhead etc, I'm sure they'd have doubled (at least) the pre-sales. Shame its only Garmin.

    I have never had the need for tire pressure sensors on my bike. I'm honestly at a point that I cannot handle one more thing that uses a battery on my bike.

    Just ride the bike and be happy. Only high end upgrade really worthy with big effect are good very light wheels. If you go from 1800g to something like 1250g or even much lighter if you are light guy on a road bike, you will feel it on your Strava 8)

    Optimal pressure really only matters when racing.
    You will never stop to adjust tire pressure while racing.

    if you store your bike at home and check tire pressure before ride, you can get substantial pressure deviation on temperature difference home\outdoor

    Tire pressure sensors is already annoying on a car , I don’t need to be told my tire is getting low or the tire pressure sensor not working since I check my tires before riding anyway.

    Tire pressure sensor would be useful for fat bikes where pressure down to 2 psi are sometimes needed. Pressure taken indoors will be higher than outdoor where it is colder. You need to use ideal gas laws to predict actual pressure at the expected temp during the ride. But actual temperature, and therefore tire pressure, may vary. It would be great having a pressure meter that us accurate tight down to 0 psi (which is actually 14.7 psi when tire pressure matches air pressure outside the tire.. so the difference between 16.7psi which is 2psi measured and 14.7psi which is 0 psi measured isn’t that much and is why these calculations matter so much for fat bikes where pressure riding where indoor temp may be +22C and outdoor -20C).

    I have a ceramicspeed OSPW on my bike right now, but it isn't anodized to Bianchi celeste to match the frame, chain, and bar tape. Would I spend 400 quid to make it all matchy matchy? Probbaly not. Had this colorway been an option from CeramicSpeed back three years ago when I bought the bike, though . . . you bet I would have made it all match.

    As for those custom handlebars... Since most people are already riding the wrong size bike... Now they will have an additional very expensive way to get an improperly sized part.

    I find it curious when folks express their dismay over tire pressure sensors on cars. Sure, eventually the battery on the sensors will fail. But on my cars, which I keep forever, that has taken about 10 years to happen. For example, one of the tire pressure sensor batteries on my 2013 Prius just died. I think that's good service from a device that provides important informant in terms of car safety and performance. As far as bike tire pressure sensors go. IMO, the jury is still out. Unlike a car, I check and pump up my tires before every ride. Catching a slow leak ASAP may have merit. Hard to say until folks try these devices and we can hear about some real world experiences.

    The 3D Printed Bar company is about to get a phone call from everyone’s lawyers. “Metron” is a trademark of FSA/Vision, and is primarily engaged in the sale of finishing kit for bikes. The design of that bar, is also suspiciously similar to Pinarello’s MOST Bar/Stem.

    Clogs with sealant ?

    • @chris1275cc
      @chris1275cc 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think so, as far as I can tell the valve (which can be your existing valve) is just basically acting as a bolt to hold the unit in place, and has no other interaction. The sensor itself is a sealed unit that does not need to be in direct contact with the environment inside your tyre to measure the pressure. You could probably tape it to the rim far from the valve, and it would still work. The valve could still clog of course as they do from time to time, but there would be no issue just removing/replacing the core and poking out the dry sealant.

    I use a GPS computer, power meter pedals, rear-facing radar for traffic detection, and various rechargeable lights, all of which I can easily move from bike to bike. That's what I consider to be "bike tech." Everything else on my bikes is human powered and is considered low tech.

    Have one piece on my Dogma F. It’s the most comfortable cockpit I’ve ever had, the fit is perfect. I was lucky and had a very good idea about my ideal stem length which obviously helped. If you get it wrong, it’s a $900 mistake. It’s luck of the draw - when it works, the one piece setups are awesome.

    Handlebars should be round to accommodate gripping at variety of angles all through the length of the handlebars. This aero everything to save micro watt has gone way too far. I guess only loss of profit and bankruptcies will change minds in the biking industry.
