One of the best videos I have seen covering this topic and as an ex-fashion designer, I've seen tons, lol! ♥ Just for extra info, sometimes is good to look at the projection of your breast shape. For example, I have large breasts with high projection and a narrow root, which makes many bras feel uncomfortable and look bad. (Underwire poking at my sides, gaping at the top, overflowing at the sides, etc) There are plenty of bra companies that make good bras for this issue. In my experience, the "rounder" the shape construction is, the worse it looks on me. I was shocked to look and feel better in one of those pointy bras from the 80s, completely unlined and unwired... just because there was more "forward" room! So if you have tried everything, check out your projection and try every bra even if the shape looks weird. You never know!
I’ve discovered I have this issue. In most bras, the underwire ends up sitting an inch below where it should be. I found one with more projection and finally it sat in the right place and didn’t dig in.
From the bottom of my heart: Thank you for this. I have just come back from a frustrating shopping trip because nothing fit. 😅 I will try again and keep this in mind. I didn't know they made those older Design anymore.
Beebs, I am a 61 year old woman and I was not aware about half of this. I agree a slip is a very important part of your dressing to give you a complete look. Also do not wear leggings unless you are going to the gym. Don't buy cheap leggings they are see through and not a pretty sight. As said by my grandson! Thank you Beebs. xxJane 🌼
Im a woman in my late 60s . I’ve never watched a most informative video about women undergarments as yours has been. Thanks so much for your very helpful facts about a subject we usually venture into with only common sense. Thanks 🙏
Wow!!! I finally understand my broad shoulders and flat chest with very wide-spaced breasts. At 72, I’m losing a lot of weight, but starting to resemble my size in my 30’s when I was most comfortable in clothes. But I never knew how to determine the cup size based on band and breast width. Thank you. I wear a lot of tunic length shirts because so many my age wear them, but the weight loss is giving me confidence to try shirts that show off a waist I haven’t seen in eons.
I used to wear slips as a little girl in the 80s. But by the 90s all the under garments seemed to be going out of fashion and old lady-ish so both my mom and I stopped wearing them.
This is honestly the single most useful video I’ve seen in a very long time. I was choosing underwear in completely the wrong way. Thank you so much for this Beebs I’m so glad I found this channel.
I’ve always thought you have such well fitting bras - but it seemed a bit personal and presumptuous to ask you about how you chose your underwear! Thank you for this video - a lot to take in in one go, so I shall need to re-view it a few times.
I love these too. I also use a neutral crop top over to smooth them out as Beebs mentioned in this and an earlier video. Thanks Beebs, such a great hint.
As a black person, it's really difficult to find nude panty hose or tights that are anywhere close to a match to my skin tone. We have so many different skin shades and undertones, and most manufacturers just don't cater to us. So I generally just go with black. The situation is a bit better with bras.
Both Nubian skin and Rihanna have shades of underwear that cater to women of color. They’re actually many different companies that offer multiple nude shade.
I can’t believe that this hasn’t been resolved in 2024, you’d think that the broader market caters for multiple skin tones. Having said that, if I was lucky enough to have dark skin I’d show off those legs naturally.
In 2024 we can all buy band aids that match our tones no matter our colour but we can’t do it with pantyhose? That’s ridiculous! and stupid of manufacturers and designers to ignore such a large share of the market.
After all the fancy bras, my best bra is a smooth t shirt sports bra. No lines. My look is smooth and appropriate. Remember Catherine’s blue dress in Canada? That’s the look. Jenny Packam

Everyone should go at least once for a bra fitting at a Nordstrom or similar store. Almost everyone wears a too large band size and too small cup size. It’s amazing how much better you look in clothes with a properly fitted bra. You’ll be more comfortable too.
Thank you for this informative vlog. I have learnt to get clothes, hair, makeup correct, and now hopefully will get the undergarments correct! One thing I have got correct is wearing a slip/petticoat under skirts and dresses - makes a huge difference.
Thank you Beebs, you are a lifesaver and I TRULY appreciated this tutorial, it is an eye opener. We are all unique, that's for sure, and unfortunately, manufacturers of undergarments haven't been able to process that. I remember a million years ago my mother going to a specialized shop to get fitted for a bra. Elder ladies knew exactly what to do. Thank you for providing the links to my bra shopping experience.😘 Happy Easter.🐰
After decades of uncomfortable bras - couldn't wear underwired at all - I visited a specialist bra shop I found quite by accident. My underbust measurement has always been 43" for years now and following the instructions I would up to the nearest even number, deduct from overbust measurement and that was my bra size. Turns out I'm actually a 38 band and a (UK/EU size) K or L cup - depending on the style. Not only can I now wear underwired bras but I can also go to my local supermarket and buy cheap 38 bras and the odds are they will fit (might need to make the cups bigger but that's what elastic lace is for). My lesson, which was learned the hard - and expensive - way, was that bra measuring instructions are rubbish. You need an EXPERT who can simply look at you and choose the right bra size
@@lisagd22 That was my problem. Then I found Change (who closed during the pandemic) and the lady simply looked and went to get a bra and it fitted with a band size 3 sizes smaller than the ''measuring guides'' said I needed. One solution might be to go to your local supermarket with a changing room and simply pick a selection of really cheap bras and try them for size going mainly by band size. worked for me after Change closed, I keep my expensive bras for going out and wear 2 for Euro5 rom my local supermarket at home, comfy and they fit though I wouldn't wear them out as the support isn't enough for my liking.
Regarding slips, I agree that they are an under-appreciated foundation garment. There are times when even Katherine would benefit from one when walking against a breeze.
This is absolutely the best video that I have ever seen on the subject matter. Explanations, pictures and sizing guide are extremely helpful. Thank you for all the work you did to make this video.
Without exception, I only wear plain, no frills underwear. No matter what manufacturers say about their particular "soft lace" - my skin disagrees. There's no such thing as soft lace, there is just a fierce rash! For any bustier UK ladies, I thoroughly recommend Bravissimo. They've never failed to perfectly accommodate my 38DDs, no matter the required style, colour, etc. They have attractive styles for larger sizes & their construction is superb. Unlike some companies (M&S!) who think anyone with larger boobs should simply tolerate paying a higher price for their size, with hardly any styling at all, based on a superstructure which resembles the engineering of a railway bridge.
Beebs, thank you for explaining the change in measuring for the band. I grew up with the add-4-inches rule, and didn't know it had changed. I really appreciate all the time you put in on this.
Fabulously informative video. Thank you. I wear a 34FF and it is not an easy size to find. I buy my bras from Bravissimo, which is U.K. based but they ship worldwide. They stock from 28 -40 back size with cup sizes D - J. They do virtual fittings and are super helpful. I live in Cyprus and my daughter lives in Australia but we both buy our bras and swimwear from Bravissimo.
Hi, I wear the same size as you. I find Marks & Spencer’s full cup bras with thick straps to be very good and pretty reasonably priced if you are looking for alternatives.
I bought my first bra from them around 1995 from their Ealing shop in London and have been a client ever since. Even though I lived in America for the last 15 years, every bra I have bought has been from them because as size 36 HH it’s impossible to find gorgeous-looking bras around here. Bravissimo has always been exceptional and now that they have a shop here in the USA, my life is a lot easier🙂. I would highly recommend them!!!
When I was modeling, in a very dry climate, I discovered Static Guard spray, that and a well fitting slip did the trick with most of the dresses I wore.
This is the best info video on under garments. I have always hated underwire bras. Very uncomfortable and causes bruises and blood patches. Hate them,...that was when I was skinny, and just had runny eggs flat chested bust. I've put on 25kg, and now my boobs are huge! I was taken by my daughters to get properly fitted for a bra, leading up to being the mother of the Bride for the wedding of my youngest daughter. I was astounded how big those puppies had grown. Unfortunately, they only had one bra that would fit, which was underwire. I brought it, thinking its only for an afternoon and half the night. Now I try it on and it feels like a boa constrictor. I can't breathe. Generally, I prefer to wear sports bras, but they ride up my boobs. My mission is to find a bra that works for me. Thank you for this informative video.❤
I really struggle with the calculation of the over/under bust measurement difference to determine cup size. I have a very wide rib cage so the under bust measurement, although needed for the band size throws off the cup size. Life long struggle with bras & clothes. Ugh😮 This was so informative! Thank you 😊
As a larger busted and sized woman, tried the shape wear pants etc. After all the postive comments since I accidentally brought a shapewear slip, love it, now know I just need a singlet one as well. Will now buy a size bigger due to my bust. When it comes to bras, need a sports one Monday to Friday due to working on a farm, and don't need to be popping out of the bra, when pulling or throwing something. Have a plunging one for going out as some tops just need a lower cut bra, understanding your breast shape is so important.
You can also buy what's sometimes called "biker shorts" which is basically fitting sportswear made out of functional polyester material. This fits like a second skin similar to underwear and goes down mid-thigh. I often use this for example in summer under light-weight flowy dresses/skirts or light summer flowy pants. It really smooths everything out, you can't see any underwear through, and I feel so much more comfortable.
Wow … more information here than I have been educated on the topic Good to know in my sixth decade 😌 better late than never 🙏❤️ Thank You Beebs … sending this to my daughters ✅
Thank you for those great tips and recommendations! Lately, I can never find the perfect fit. That’s why I usually wear for everyday, a sports bra as I’m the one who HATES bras as the dig in or are just basically constrictive. I’m older so the fit is especially important! Thanks again, Beebs. And may I say your outfit, and makeup are so beautiful! ❤
Thank you! This was very easy to follow and covered everything from head to toe! I especially appreciated your explanations of the shape of butt or bust and how they are affected by the different styles.
Glad for the tutorial on measuring yourself. When you get measured at the store, they always adjust your size to fit within their range of sizes. So as a 32G, I usually get told I'm a 34E or something. The base of the bra would feel loose after a few wears. It's only when I went to higher end stores that had a wider range, I was told the correct size. UK brand Freya is a good, you can find them online. But a 32G would be a 32F in the UK. I usually only find my size with the more expensive brands. Thanks for the links, I live in the US so it would be nice try more U.S brands.
If you do another video about such topics, would you consider including tips for how to best care for them? Laundering, storing, etc. I imagine it may differ depending on fabric. Thank you!
This has been so helpful! I noticed after I dressed (white blouse) that my brassiere was visible. I changed blouses which made all the difference. I’m definitely getting one that is skin tone. I feel like these details really matter and ought to be taught to all ladies. If you ever desire to make another tutorial (garments, etiquette, etc.) I think it’d be wonderful. It felt wonderful to take notice and make adjustments to my clothing. Thanks again for this video, Beebs!!!
Thank you, been wearing bras for decades and I admit I didn't't know about some the bra diferences. I think I'm going to get a t shirt bra now that I understand what they are about
Very informative video. Thank you. I always figured my shape was this or my bust was that. Now I understand a bit more about variations. Nicely done, Beebs.
Awesome informative video! Losing and-or gaining weight always affects my bra and band size. Right now I’m needing a smaller band and cup due to weight loss. I took my bigger bras and put them in storage just in case I may gain with aging and need to go back to that size. Thanks so much Beebs for the recommendations for panties and shapewear also. Big help. 🥰❤🤗
I automatically go for the full pants or what we might call granny pants- sorry - panty, I'm Scottish. The next size up though does make sense. I would usually get a 10 but have found that a 12 is more comfy. Maybe my bottom has just grown!! 😂I tend to wear bralets day to day but I think I've finally found my bra size for more dressed up days, thanks to a video you did a while ago, and trying on what you called sister sizes.
Hello from NZ, via Scottish parents. I also sort of cringe at 'panties' it seems to be a very much US thing. Here (apart from 'Bridget Jones' or granny pants), they are known as knickers or undies. Many thanks to Beebs, my next bra will not fall off my narrow shoulders! Slange
This was such an informative video. I learned so much and will be referring back to this next time I need to buy foundation garments. Thanks so very much.
GM Beebs - loved this video and the bra fit portion is wonderful. Learned so much info some I knew but others I did not so will help me so much for my foundation needs in the future. Happy Easter to you 🐰
Great video as usual. A very delicate subject done in such an empathetic way. Living in the UK I love handmade silk camisoles sets. Might cost a bit more but I have one set from the 1980s which my grandmother bought me for my 16th birthday. Makes you feel like a million bucks and helps clothes as well.
Hey Beebs, i really enjoy your videos. You are so lovely and informative. I love that you cover such topics, because I struggle with finding undergarments. Especially bras are difficult, because I'm very busty but I've got a very narrow underbustline. So most of the time I'm just happy when I find a well fitting bra no matter how it looks. It's almost impossible to find a nude fitting tshirt bra, thats why I need your undergarment tips, they are very helpful for me. Happy Easter from Germany!
@BeebsKelly Victoria secret bras don’t last. There’s ads for small bras here on TH-cam. That doesn’t work for me but Wacoal Bras are great for large boobs & they last. I have heavy dense big boobs & they work well with underwire because that’s the only thing that will hold me up. I’ve tried the new ads for HoneyLove & Shaper mint without wires but they still gape & don’t hold up as well. I’m nursing a bad headache so I’ll probably replay it at another time. This was a really great video Beebs!!!!!
Excellent presentation on the science of understanding, choosing, and wearing undergarments which will offer the greatest comfort and most polished appearance. Can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos for their content, presentation, and production values.
Great informative video, thank you! Not so long ago I visited specialized bra shop and get my first bra which fit perfectly. Bra was so expensive, but worth it, so comfortable! Then i went to M&S and buy cheap bra. I would recommend bra fitting to everyone, many shops have now bra fitting days and it can make your life better 😊.
I have never heard the term “balconette” before…but long story short I dug out an unlined bra I’ve had for ages and put it on today to remember that it is incredibly comfortable, except for the lace around the band which is scratchy. So I think to myself, I’ll check the tag and see if I can find it without the lace…and what do you know! It’s an unlined balconette bra! Thank you for this tutorial- I was always one that felt slips were such an old lady thing, but you’ve swayed me into being a grown up about it and investing in proper foundation garments!
Thank you do much , as an older lady I have had trouble getting a new bra but with your helpful tips I now feel confident to go out an get a bra that fits.❤
When I was in mu 20's I was very small on top and couldn't get a bra to fit properly. The cups were always too big and would bunch and show under my blouse or top. Wish I would have had this good advice back then and also they make much better bras now. Thank you for the great video on undergarments.🥰💕
I took my daughters to be measured for their bra size at Victorias Secret. They did a very professional job & there was no pressure to buy from their store..but if u need a certain size in a particular color..they have it!
As an ex-pagent girl, petite model and actress , I can't say enough how amazing these tips are! I also styled many A-list musical artists and I thank you for putting this out into the world! Great tips and I appreciate your amazing videos! Thanks Beebs! 🫶

Good to know in my sixth decade 😌 better late than never 🙏❤️
Thank You Beebs … sending this to my daughters ✅
Thank you so much! Wish there had been a BEEBS KELLY when I was young. Never too late to learn and thank you again!
This is so very, very helpful, Beebs. Can’t thank you enough. Sorry this wasn’t available 50-60 years ago , would have made a difference.
I love listening to your advice!
Thank you so much Beebs. I'm not sure if there are deportment lessons that girls do these days, but videos like yours are invaluable.
Thank you Beebs😊this was very helpful. I ordered small/medium shapewear to a wedding, you’re smart about sizing up. 🥴
Thank you! This was very easy to follow and covered everything from head to toe! I especially appreciated your explanations of the shape of butt or bust and how they are affected by the different styles.
Great job. Thanks for all the valuable information.
Thank you Beebs! I am glad I found your website. I have learned so much from you.
Thank you for this educational video.
These tutorial are excellent
I like your instructional videos; they're informative. Wishing you and your family a happy Easter, Beebs.
Hi Beebs, thank you for this video! Super interesting and helpful!
Super valuable, comprehensive and helpful video. Thank you so much

I'm rewatching this video - I love it!! It's a goldmine of essential information. Thank you!!
This is a very well-done video! Thanks, Beebs. ❤
Happy Easter to you and your family, Beebs!
Thankyou so much. This is really helpful and informative.
If you do another video about such topics, would you consider including tips for how to best care for them? Laundering, storing, etc. I imagine it may differ depending on fabric. Thank you!
Thank you Beebs what a great post. Some wonderful advice for women of all ages 💕
This has been so helpful! I noticed after I dressed (white blouse) that my brassiere was visible. I changed blouses which made all the difference. I’m definitely getting one that is skin tone.
I feel like these details really matter and ought to be taught to all ladies. If you ever desire to make
another tutorial (garments, etiquette, etc.) I think it’d be wonderful.
It felt wonderful to take notice and make adjustments to my clothing. Thanks again for this video, Beebs!!!
What a great video! I learned so much and the information was so well presented. Thank you!
Thank you, been wearing bras for decades and I admit I didn't't know about some the bra diferences. I think I'm going to get a t shirt bra now that I understand what they are about
Excellent vid, Beebs!
Slange
Excellent video. Well-done!
Straightforward and informative. Visuals and examples.
This was such an informative video. I learned so much and will be referring back to this next time I need to buy foundation garments. Thanks so very much.
Again - Beebs you are amazing ❤️ such an informative video, very well explained.
GM Beebs - loved this video and the bra fit portion is wonderful. Learned so much info some I knew but others I did not so will help me so much for my foundation needs in the future. Happy Easter to you 🐰
Fabulous video, wonderful advice and recommendations. 💖💖💖
Beebs, Thank you so much for this! I am so happy with your clear explanations.
Thanks Beebs, very comprehensive and helpful.
You are the best! Thanks so much for all the time and effort you've put into this very comprehensive video. ❤❤
What an amazing video. Such essential information! I love learning such things. Thank you!
I learned some things, thank you!
Beebs, really amazing! I'm almost 67 and never knew what I should be choosing in terms of a bra. Thank you :)
Very good video. Wish The Meg would watch it and learn and then put it into practice!
Excellent presentation on the science of understanding, choosing, and wearing undergarments which will offer the greatest comfort and most polished appearance.
Can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos for their content, presentation, and production values.
Thank you for this video! I plan on watching more than once!!
Extremely helpful and well done video. Thank you!
Wow!! Great video Beebs!! Lots of great advice! Thank you so so much ❤❤
Great informative video, thank you!
Thank you! I’ve been needing this video!
BRAVA......WELL DONE.......VERY HELPFUL INFORMATION !!!!! THANK YOU........
I've been having bra issues and pantie line problems. This has really helped. Thank you
When I was in mu 20's I was very small on top and couldn't get a bra to fit properly.
PLEASE DO AN IN DEPTH BRA TUTORIAL !!!!!❤
Excellent video, thank you so very much!
Fabulous video!!
So glad for this..looking to up my game in the undergarments
