That's obvious. My daughter took ballet for 8 years. Then she took up bowling as well. You never saw such a graceful bowler! That graceful movement has never left her.
Megaliar is known to lie about things so this is no different. Maybe she did practice Ballet, but when she was aged 5 to 8 years of age! Just because she did ballet at one stage of her life doesn't make her an expert. She only out it on there because it looks sophisticated.

Catherine is a person who understands the importance of being part of a community. She comes in, she learns, she adjusts, she continues to grow. Unfortunately, some people resist and are repellent so they get bounced out.
Catherine didn’t always get it right. If you notice her early wardrobe there are some considerable missteps. What helped Catherine is that she was silent and had a warm demeanor that afforded her the benefit of the doubt. She learned and kept going until she struck a balance between tradition and modern dressing. Meghan came in hot and wasn’t ready for any criticism or change. She didn’t even want anyone to take credit for styling her. The lesson here is to be aware of your own shortcomings and the necessity of due process.
Our dear late Queen laid down "rules" like not crossing legs at public events and not wearing black. ... But there are reasons for the rules - and you've explained the sitting with your legs crossed and the wrinkling. The fact is: you're in the public eye and you represent an institution. MM just didn't get it. From your vids we can see that her way wasn't really even doing HER any favours either!
The rules were to minimise fashion faux pas and to keep attention on the work and organisation. Example: if visiting an animal shelter and you wear say a skirt that's too short and gets a wind blow up, are the articles going to focus on the shelter or your thighs? Would the shelter even get mentioned?
It's interesting that Meghan Markle didn't adopt the Duchess Slant considering she says she thought that being royal would be like the Princess Diaries and I do remember that scene! 🙄It's just sad that such an opportunity was squandered on someone who just wanted fame.

One would think that someone who supposedly practiced yoga would understand how to breathe, how to move and how to glide gracefully. Her mother, at some point in time, was supposedly a yoga instructor. Mystifying!
I'm the opposite of pigeon toed, haha. I walked on the outside of my feet, I think it's supination? But yeah, I walk funny and I've tried to correct it so many times. It looks even worse in heels because I roll my ankle accidentally from trying to correct the supination. Anyways, I'm trying to learn to walk in heels properly, finally after 30+ years lol. Beebs' lessons are so helpful, especially because I feel like I need to learn to look more put together. Her videos are so helpful!
The real problem is her narcissistic brain cell ( I know better mentality than IA & Google ) so she wouldn't listen to anybody and/or take any advice. No boundaries are also another level in her brain cell .
If Meghan Markle was sincere about being a working royal and committed to representing the RF, all of these faux pas regarding her dress and personal appearance would not be such an issue today. All of these issues would have improved in time, as she learned how to be royal. But, as we all know now, she never intended on staying and doing the job, or following the rules of dress and etiquette. And left to herself, she’s a mess. Being a Royal would have enhanced her not taken away who she was. We always become better people when we honestly serve others. She doesn’t appear to listen to good advice, even from a royal stylist. Thus, she is often the object of “what not to do” fashion lessons such as this one.
Before Megnut married Harry, she survived kissing ass and putting up with their nonsense, just to come to where she is now. Now that she is a royal, she doesn't see the need to hide her true nature and expect everyone to be okay with it and start kissing her ass. As if that will happen.
One thing I never thought I’d say was ”Meghan Markle had no trouble keeping her legs crossed”. I was never quite sure how someone from Hollywood could be so awkward in front of a camera. It’s like she’s only aware of her face.
She never made it in Hollywood. Her father worked in Hollywood as a very successful lighting engineer, but she only got tv roles, and that was in Canada.

I feel like there needs to be balance. No need to be overly formal or a stickler for every single thing. But we also shouldn't be walking around like we don't care either. Some women find doing their makeup relaxing while others find it a chore. There's simple ways of being more attractive so yeah we can work on those for sure.

Those outward elbows remind me of a man inflating his personal space around him to make himself 'bigger' (not in girth, but rather in power space) - feet apart and elbows out.

I never would have known or even thought about her sticking with the same type of wardrobe for years because she never had to worry about having to "readjust". This was overall just a great video, I never thought I could still learn so much more at my age!
The Queen always looked beautifully turned out, but the only thing about the coat dresses is that we never got to see what looked like very pretty dresses underneath. I've noticed that with Sophie and Catherine too. Do they put as much thought into the dress underneath that remains unseen? We don't often see this style of clothing in Australia because it would be too hot to wear so many layers.

I believe that anyone can better themselves through education, observing others, learning from those to whose position in life or work one aspires. This does not mean rejecting one’s upbringing or heritage or regarding it as inferior. However, such a transition begins from a posture of humility and openness. Princess Catherine inspired me to teach myself to walk with my arms down when she and Prince William arrived to greet the public with her in-laws outside the palace when Queen Elizabeth II passed. Dressing for the body you HAVE, not the body you wish you had, makes a world of difference in appearance! You will always look worse when your clothing does not fit you properly. Even in her very early days, Catherines clothing fit her beautifully. Too often, Meghans does not. You know they both have space for tailoring in their budgets, but Catherine uses that money, and Meghan, I think, too often does not.
I think she has fitters but makes them do things to the garments that either the garment is not made for, or, more common, her figure does not allow. She is a mess
I’m so excited about this series!! There is a wealth of “do this/not that” photographic evidence to pull from. I think it’s very interesting to look back at when Princess Catherine really had her major “finishing school.” I think it was in the time slightly before/after Charlotte was born. There is a marked difference in how she carried herself, dressed and presented herself-which coincided with when Harry met his “1st wife.” Well done as always!❣️

Me too! I took etiquette lessons in sixth grade. I attended a private Catholic school. These lessons were offered offsite. We giggled and laughed a lot but learned a lot also. The first lesson was on posture, sitting standing and walking. We did it over and over until done correctly and then ojr homework for the week was studying the book on posture, sitting, standing, etc., to be tested on it the following class. You can bet the Nuns saw a lot of great posture, sitting, standing and walking that week. We all thought they were spys for the etiquette teacher! LOL.
The first person teaching me how to behave as a young woman with regard to clothing wasnt indeed my mother, but my father. Here are some of his lessons when i was a teemage girl: - make small steps and force the guy to shorten his insteed thus teaching him to be a gentleman - it is not the length of a skirt which makes you look cheap or like a slut, but the way you behave whilst wearing it: how you walk, sit etc. - he baught me my first pumps (8cm) when I was 14years old and I had to walk up and down in the house until he was satisfied with my posture and walk Still to this day it hurts me physically when I see young women in high heels walking like a tramp.
I genuinely believe Meghan takes such long steps in order to not let Harry walk in front of her. I've seen multiple photos where she looks like she's rushing to some finish line, to get her foot past him. She knew the rule of the royal walking in front, the way Prince Philip walked behind the Queen was famous worldwide

Meghan holds her wrists out in weird positions so she can show of her jewellery. Just in case we forgot she has Diana's watch, a diamond bracelet and a beautiful engagement ring.
I had never noticed before how consistently Meghan’s arms are bent and angled awkwardly. Now I see how much that contributed to a messy or chaotic appearance. I get the feeling that Catherine is a very thoughtful, intentional person. She was probably a very good student and continues to be someone who takes in and processes what she is taught, and that is reflected in the confident way she carries herself. From now on I’m going to be very aware of what my arms and hands are doing in pictures. 😉

I've liked all your presentations thus far, Beebs, but REALLY loved this one! I believe very much in posture and etiquette. I worked in Japan for 11 years and know how these two topics are so important for well-mannered people. You can't, for example, successfully wear a kimono with bad posture, big sloppy walking, swinging arms or poor manners. Body language and behavior are favorite subjects of mine too! My Dad was a police officer/detective and taught me throughout childhood how important understanding body language is to sum up character, honesty, respect, etc. Having also been in the military, he also knew how important it is to always look neat and tidy on the job. My Mom is as feminine as they come so we both love everything about Catherine and loved dearly Queen Elizabeth II and Diana. Keep up the brilliant work, Beebs! You are an absolute joy!! At school we were taught deportment and it was always knees together and ankles crossed. Also to swivel around in your seat and put both feet on the ground when exiting a car.
Dear Beebs, I love this video. My mother was very critical, but the one thing I remember as a positive was "stand up straight, Josephine!". She had impeccable posture well into her 90s. I am constantly "checking" my posture, and when all is in alignment, I feel so much better and more confident. Thanks for this video. Would love to see more.
The Meg's big downfall was that she didn't realise that she had to learn how to be a Duchess. She then wasn't willing to learn either. The Princess of Wales has learned all of the procedural, postural and clothing do's and don'ts. She hasn't always been as perfect as she is now!

I was not allowed out of the house without proper undergarments on..My mother was an old school southern lady and I was taught to dress properly starting at a young age..I just don't understand Rachel and her lack of caring about her appearance..

Both my boys went to public school in a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. But it was better than most private schools. In 5th or 6th grade all the kids had to wear suits/ ties for the boys and dresses for the girls. They went to dinner at the country club ( but of course could have been at a restaurant) and were taught etiquette and manners. How to place their napkins, which forks to use, pull out chairs for the girls, etc. How to act properly but not uncomfortably formal as to not be fun and relaxed. I think it would be great for all kids to have a manners and etiquette class. It wasn’t a long class but was very beneficial.
I as surprised to see the wrinkling on Catherine’s dress at Wimbledon this year. I love the green dress, the color and the style, but it did wrinkle. A rare issue for Catherine.
Someone I did know back in 90s who was working for the late Queen as a wardrobe assistant (she was preparing her luggages for travel) she told me they were putting small curtain weights in her skirt border. They were putting a small stitch to keep in place. It was cheap and effective and because it has a small hold it was easy to stitch it.
What gets me is ladies (hesitate to call them ladies) who stand with their feet far apart. It’s unladylike at the very least. Masculine at the best. Great video as always.

I have found the slanted legs crossed at the ankle is the most comfortable for me. There is a clip of Katherine and Sophie where a breeeze lifts the bottom of Katherines dress. Sophie subtlety steps closer to Katherine's side. This helps avoid the skirt being lifted.
I saw a video of Catherine quite awhile ago, it was a collection of scenes where the winds pushed up Catherine's skirts. Oye! I remember thinking at the time that I was happy she had such pretty legs because sometimes those skirts were pushed way up by the wind. Have not seen anything like that lately.
I saw this video and found it interesting that a lot of these rules were common a couple generations ago. My grandmother went to finishing school at 17 before her wedding and a lot of these were covered there. How to seat, to avoid wrinkles, to do small talk, to pose properly for portraits, to conduct yourself properly in school, work and public events, etc. I am imagining some poor people at the Palace attempting a Princess Diaries scene and Miss Mess saying "No thanks, I am a queen!!"

We thought perhaps she slept in them the night before and rolled out of bed the next day to head out to her public appearance. Another simple explanation was that she didn't own an iron! I never knew that, and it was the first time I heard anyone explain it!🤗 That probably rains on the wife's parade since she probably thought it was sexy to raise her leg in the air to cross her legs in front of an audience. While watching this, I tried the sitting postures, and found that if I sit with my feet together flat on the floor, my knees tend to drift apart as I relax, so I get why the leg slant and crossed ankles. Also when I was growing up we were advised not to cross our legs because the pressure would lead to varicose veins later on. I'm going to remember the 'elbows in' rule when my son gets married & I have to be in some of the photos!
MM had it all & threw it away. If she had been able to control herself she could be the darling of the royal family but no, she went full crazy disrespect instead

I didn’t realize how my early training in K-12 Catholic schools imprinted on me with the constant reminders to “act like a lady.” The other day a friend sitting next to me at dinner remarked that she loved the way I always sat up straight at the rubber chicken dinners we have to attend and don’t slump, even with the prospect of that rubber chicken plate looming.
Thank you for mentioning slips…I have tailored for men and women for 50 years…when women gave up slips…well so many bad things began to happen…rump sprung clothing (is hard to rework), lumps and bumps, nipple show, undergarment construction began to appear. Stockings and panty hose helped to provide “glide” to skirts and pants…also to mute undergarment color and line show through. The hang of an unlined garment is greatly improved with a slip and wrinkling is greatly reduced. Also slips are an all girl thing…sort of sexy. Back to stockings: they shade the legs…make ankles look slimmer, hide irregular leg color and look finished. Oh, also a slip makes certain “ wardrobe malfunctions way less embarrassing. Now…weighted hemlines…a nickel in a little silk “bag” with a spot of Velcro can go from garment to garment ( just have the corresponding piece of Velcro added in the proper area to each piece that needs weight. I have known seamstresses and tailors to use fishing weights and even lengths of braided wire to hems. Double sided clothing tape can keep an arm hole from gapping…( tip for short woman and/ or large busted women…use this tape on front fastening blouses and dresses to prevent “gaposous” especially when sitting…you know the area between buttons opening).Along necklines it can be used to keep a deeper cut necklines from becoming an embarrassment when you lean forward or bend down. I could go on and on…this is why well dressed women have dressmakers or tailors.
Very interesting and informative! You would have thought Meghan being an actress would have understood these things, but obviously she didn’t and it affected how others perceive her.
This was a really interesting video. I never thought about the differences that you talk about here and how one comes off more professional than the other. I had noticed the clothing but not the arms and everything else. I enjoy body language stuff too. I frequently watch The Behavior Panel and The Behavioral Arts. There's also a guy that does linguistics videos, Martin DeCoder, that compared the engagement videos of William and Catherine to Harry and Meghan, and the differences were very interesting.

Also I took your advice on a body shaper and my goodness that made such a difference to the dress I'm wearing. My body type would probably best be described as 'beer barrel' or possibly 'rotund' (sounds so much better than fat!)and wearing a soft body shaper has really smoothed out some of the more unfortunate lumps I have. I have always felt undergarments are more important than garments worn on the outside. Our outside garments look and hang so much better if the undergarments are well thought out. You can always tell Meghan is missing her undergarments.

My grandmother taught me a lot about posture and what colors and clothes would look best on my body type and I took her instructions to heart as they worked well for me. I hear a lot of younger women whining about wearing slips but I never wear a dress or skirt without one as they give a smoother line and also prevent panty lines showing. I do have to admit that at home I tend to sit in manners that I never would in public.

Catherine is a person who understands the importance of being part of a community. She comes in, she learns, she adjusts, she continues to grow. Unfortunately, some people resist and are repellent so they get bounced out.
Catherine didn’t always get it right. If you notice her early wardrobe there are some considerable missteps. What helped Catherine is that she was silent and had a warm demeanor that afforded her the benefit of the doubt. She learned and kept going until she struck a balance between tradition and modern dressing. Meghan came in hot and wasn’t ready for any criticism or change. She didn’t even want anyone to take credit for styling her. The lesson here is to be aware of your own shortcomings and the necessity of due process.
MM refused all advice from royal advisors, it is well documented. She was and is too arogant.

But there are reasons for the rules - and you've explained the sitting with your legs crossed and the wrinkling.

The Queen was head of state, some decorum should be shown as respect to the British people. MM apparently does not even respect herself.
The rules were to minimise fashion faux pas and to keep attention on the work and organisation.
Example: if visiting an animal shelter and you wear say a skirt that's too short and gets a wind blow up, are the articles going to focus on the shelter or your thighs? Would the shelter even get mentioned?
It's interesting that Meghan Markle didn't adopt the Duchess Slant considering she says she thought that being royal would be like the Princess Diaries and I do remember that scene! 🙄It's just sad that such an opportunity was squandered on someone who just wanted fame.

Plus Catherine played sports -- you have to have decent posture for that.

I'm the opposite of pigeon toed, haha. I walked on the outside of my feet, I think it's supination? But yeah, I walk funny and I've tried to correct it so many times. It looks even worse in heels because I roll my ankle accidentally from trying to correct the supination. Anyways, I'm trying to learn to walk in heels properly, finally after 30+ years lol. Beebs' lessons are so helpful, especially because I feel like I need to learn to look more put together. Her videos are so helpful!
The real problem is her narcissistic brain cell ( I know better mentality than IA & Google ) so she wouldn't listen to anybody and/or take any advice. No boundaries are also another level in her brain cell .
If Meghan Markle was sincere about being a working royal and committed to representing the RF, all of these faux pas regarding her dress and personal appearance would not be such an issue today. All of these issues would have improved in time, as she learned how to be royal. But, as we all know now, she never intended on staying and doing the job, or following the rules of dress and etiquette. And left to herself, she’s a mess. Being a Royal would have enhanced her not taken away who she was. We always become better people when we honestly serve others. She doesn’t appear to listen to good advice, even from a royal stylist. Thus, she is often the object of “what not to do” fashion lessons such as this one.

My mother was a stickler for standing up straight, good posture when standing and sitting. When I grew up most mothers were.
I feel like there needs to be balance. No need to be overly formal or a stickler for every single thing. But we also shouldn't be walking around like we don't care either. Some women find doing their makeup relaxing while others find it a chore. There's simple ways of being more attractive so yeah we can work on those for sure.
Meghan is so used to elbowing people out of the way to push herself forward it's become her natural stance 😆

Those outward elbows remind me of a man inflating his personal space around him to make himself 'bigger' (not in girth, but rather in power space) - feet apart and elbows out.

I don't know why, but I really did enjoy learning these little tidbits around fashion & her late Majesty, QEII. I never would have known or even thought about her sticking with the same type of wardrobe for years because she never had to worry about having to "readjust". This was overall just a great video, I never thought I could still learn so much more at my age!
The queen was so fascinating. She was duty first in every way including her hairstyle and clothes.
The Queen always looked beautifully turned out, but the only thing about the coat dresses is that we never got to see what looked like very pretty dresses underneath. I've noticed that with Sophie and Catherine too. Do they put as much thought into the dress underneath that remains unseen? We don't often see this style of clothing in Australia because it would be too hot to wear so many layers.

I believe that anyone can better themselves through education, observing others, learning from those to whose position in life or work one aspires. This does not mean rejecting one’s upbringing or heritage or regarding it as inferior.
However, such a transition begins from a posture of humility and openness. Doing so can result in the difference between a gentleman and a cad or a lady and a tramp.

Princess Catherine inspired me to teach myself to walk with my arms down when she and Prince William arrived to greet the public with her in-laws outside the palace when Queen Elizabeth II passed. Dressing for the body you HAVE, not the body you wish you had, makes a world of difference in appearance! You will always look worse when your clothing does not fit you properly. Even in her very early days, Catherines clothing fit her beautifully. Too often, Meghans does not. You know they both have space for tailoring in their budgets, but Catherine uses that money, and Meghan, I think, too often does not.
I think she has fitters but makes them do things to the garments that either the garment is not made for, or, more common, her figure does not allow. She is a mess

You can guarantee that Megrain has been given this exact advice when she was in the RF, but because she knew better, she ignored it.
I’m so excited about this series!! There is a wealth of “do this/not that” photographic evidence to pull from. I think it’s very interesting to look back at when Princess Catherine really had her major “finishing school.” I think it was in the time slightly before/after Charlotte was born. There is a marked difference in how she carried herself, dressed and presented herself-which coincided with when Harry met his “1st wife.” Well done as always!❣️

Me too! I took etiquette lessons in sixth grade. I attended a private Catholic school. These lessons were offered offsite. We giggled and laughed a lot but learned a lot also. The first lesson was on posture, sitting standing and walking. We did it over and over until done correctly and then ojr homework for the week was studying the book on posture, sitting, standing, etc., to be tested on it the following class. You can bet the Nuns saw a lot of great posture, sitting, standing and walking that week. We all thought they were spys for the etiquette teacher! LOL.

The first person teaching me how to behave as a young woman with regard to clothing wasnt indeed my mother, but my father. Here are some of his lessons when i was a teemage girl:
- make small steps and force the guy to shorten his insteed thus teaching him to be a gentleman
- it is not the length of a skirt which makes you look cheap or like a slut, but the way you behave whilst wearing it: how you walk, sit etc.
- he baught me my first pumps (8cm) when I was 14years old and I had to walk up and down in the house until he was satisfied with my posture and walk
Still to this day it hurts me physically when I see young women in high heels walking like a tramp.

I genuinely believe Meghan takes such long steps in order to not let Harry walk in front of her. I've seen multiple photos where she looks like she's rushing to some finish line, to get her foot past him. She knew the rule of the royal walking in front, the way Prince Philip walked behind the Queen was famous worldwide

It always was so odd to me why Meghan just didn't appear as elegant, put together as I expected her to. Catherine makes all her outfits and appearances look SOOO effortless it's incredible, but I love how you covered it and highlighted these subtle differences. A lot of women aspire to look as elegant, effortless and put together as Catherine does and I love the little pieces of advice. Meghan holds her wrists out in weird positions so she can show of her jewellery. Just in case we forgot she has Diana's watch, a diamond bracelet and a beautiful engagement ring.
I had never noticed before how consistently Meghan’s arms are bent and angled awkwardly. Now I see how much that contributed to a messy or chaotic appearance. I get the feeling that Catherine is a very thoughtful, intentional person. She was probably a very good student and continues to be someone who takes in and processes what she is taught, and that is reflected in the confident way she carries herself. From now on I’m going to be very aware of what my arms and hands are doing in pictures. 😉
I !oved the photos. They clearly demonstrated how Catherine has mastered the "rules" while Meghan thought she was the master and completely bombed it all. We all knew she was wrong right from the beginning and now another reason why.

I've liked all your presentations thus far, Beebs, but REALLY loved this one! I believe very much in posture and etiquette. I worked in Japan for 11 years and know how these two topics are so important for well-mannered people. You can't, for example, successfully wear a kimono with bad posture, big sloppy walking, swinging arms or poor manners. Body language and behavior are favorite subjects of mine too! My Dad was a police officer/detective and taught me throughout childhood how important understanding body language is to sum up character, honesty, respect, etc. Having also been in the military, he also knew how important it is to always look neat and tidy on the job. My Mom is as feminine as they come so we both love everything about Catherine and loved dearly Queen Elizabeth II and Diana. Keep up the brilliant work, Beebs! You are an absolute joy!! At school we were taught deportment and it was always knees together and ankles crossed. Also to swivel around in your seat and put both feet on the ground when exiting a car.
Dear Beebs, I love this video. My mother was very critical, but the one thing I remember as a positive was "stand up straight, Josephine!". She had impeccable posture well into her 90s. I am constantly "checking" my posture, and when all is in alignment, I feel so much better and more confident. Thanks for this video. Would love to see more.
The Meg's big downfall was that she didn't realise that she had to learn how to be a Duchess. She then wasn't willing to learn either. The Princess of Wales has learned all of the procedural, postural and clothing do's and don'ts. She hasn't always been as perfect as she is now!

“Supporting” ha ha-I see what you did there! 🤣 I’m another one who’s old enough to remember “foundation garments.” The copy writing for print and commercials for those products was so discreet back then: “It lifts and separates!” I kinda miss those days, though I do love modern improvements like tag-less 🏷 underwear and the use of soft ☁️ microfiber as opposed to 😬 scratchy nylon.
I was not allowed out of the house without proper undergarments on..My mother was an old school southern lady and I was taught to dress properly starting at a young age..I just don't understand Rachel and her lack of caring about her appearance..

Both my boys went to public school in a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. But it was better than most private schools. In 5th or 6th grade all the kids had to wear suits/ ties for the boys and dresses for the girls. They went to dinner at the country club ( but of course could have been at a restaurant) and were taught etiquette and manners. How to place their napkins, which forks to use, pull out chairs for the girls, etc. How to act properly but not uncomfortably formal as to not be fun and relaxed. I think it would be great for all kids to have a manners and etiquette class. It wasn’t a long class but was very beneficial.
I as surprised to see the wrinkling on Catherine’s dress at Wimbledon this year. I love the green dress, the color and the style, but it did wrinkle. A rare issue for Catherine.

You are right the dress was slightly wrinkled and perhaps that was attributable to the cloth it was made from.
Someone I did know back in 90s who was working for the late Queen as a wardrobe assistant (she was preparing her luggages for travel) she told me they were putting small curtain weights in her skirt border. They were putting a small stitch to keep in place. It was cheap and effective and because it has a small hold it was easy to stitch it.
What gets me is ladies (hesitate to call them ladies) who stand with their feet far apart. It’s unladylike at the very least. Masculine at the best. Great video as always.
I often think MM looks like she’s never done ballet where your arms and hands especially are trained to look graceful. I was surprised to hear she did ballet and dance classes with the way she awkwardly holds her arms and especially claw like hands.
She wasn't especially talented in that area. There're videos of recitals.

These etiquette videos are helpful for women in business settings as well. I regularly have to wear business outfits with pants and skirts. These lessons are good for those long days.

I have found the slanted legs crossed at the ankle is the most comfortable for me. There is a clip of Katherine and Sophie where a breeeze lifts the bottom of Katherines dress. Sophie subtlety steps closer to Katherine's side. This helps avoid the skirt being lifted.
It's one of my favorite times between the two. It shows they truly like it each other.
I saw a video of Catherine quite awhile ago, it was a collection of scenes where the winds pushed up Catherine's skirts. Oye! I remember thinking at the time that I was happy she had such pretty legs because sometimes those skirts were pushed way up by the wind. Have not seen anything like that lately.

I saw this video and found it interesting that a lot of these rules were common a couple generations ago. My grandmother went to finishing school at 17 before her wedding and a lot of these were covered there. How to seat, to avoid wrinkles, to do small talk, to pose properly for portraits, to conduct yourself properly in school, work and public events, etc. I am imagining some poor people at the Palace attempting a Princess Diaries scene and Miss Mess saying "No thanks, I am a queen!!"
This was very interesting , I understand there are certain Palace rules\guidelines about posture and dress code and looking at the photos of the late Queen, Catherine and Meghan....you can see why. The biggest mistake that Meghan Markle made was not understanding the HUGE difference between Royalty and Celebrity
Following this advice, however, would enhance how observers perceive Meghan even if her ultimate goal is to be a Hollywood celebrity.

While watching this, I tried the sitting postures, and found that if I sit with my feet together flat on the floor, my knees tend to drift apart as I relax, so I get why the leg slant and crossed ankles. Also when I was growing up we were advised not to cross our legs because the pressure would lead to varicose veins later on. I'm going to remember the 'elbows in' rule when my son gets married & I have to be in some of the photos!
MM had it all & threw it away. If she had been able to control herself she could be the darling of the royal family but no, she went full crazy disrespect instead

I didn’t realize how my early training in K-12 Catholic schools imprinted on me with the constant reminders to “act like a lady.” The other day a friend sitting next to me at dinner remarked that she loved the way I always sat up straight at the rubber chicken dinners we have to attend and don’t slump, even with the prospect of that rubber chicken plate looming.

Thank you for mentioning slips…I have tailored for men and women for 50 years…when women gave up slips…well so many bad things began to happen…rump sprung clothing (is hard to rework), lumps and bumps, nipple show, undergarment construction began to appear. Stockings and panty hose helped to provide “glide” to skirts and pants…also to mute undergarment color and line show through. The hang of an unlined garment is greatly improved with a slip and wrinkling is greatly reduced. Also slips are an all girl thing…sort of sexy. Back to stockings: they shade the legs…make ankles look slimmer, hide irregular leg color and look finished. Oh, also a slip makes certain “ wardrobe malfunctions way less embarrassing. Now…weighted hemlines…a nickel in a little silk “bag” with a spot of Velcro can go from garment to garment ( just have the corresponding piece of Velcro added in the proper area to each piece that needs weight. I have known seamstresses and tailors to use fishing weights and even lengths of braided wire to hems. Double sided clothing tape can keep an arm hole from gapping…( tip for short woman and/ or large busted women…use this tape on front fastening blouses and dresses to prevent “gaposous” especially when sitting…you know the area between buttons opening).Along necklines it can be used to keep a deeper cut necklines from becoming an embarrassment when you lean forward or bend down. I could go on and on…this is why well dressed women have dressmakers or tailors.

This was a really interesting video. I never thought about the differences that you talk about here and how one comes off more professional than the other. I had noticed the clothing but not the arms and everything else. I enjoy body language stuff too. I frequently watch The Behavior Panel and The Behavioral Arts. There's also a guy that does linguistics videos, Martin DeCoder, that compared the engagement videos of William and Catherine to Harry and Meghan, and the differences were very interesting.

Thanks so much for this Beebs. I have my granddaughters wedding coming up this week end and the standing and walking advice is brilliant. Also I took your advice on a body shaper and my goodness that made such a difference to the dress I'm wearing. My body type would probably best be described as 'beer barrel' or possibly 'rotund' (sounds so much better than fat!)and wearing a soft body shaper has really smoothed out some of the more unfortunate lumps I have. So in case you were wondering if your vids are helpful....yes they have helped me immensely and I'm really grateful. Thank you.

Megan doesn’t have the natural grace that the other royal ladies, and most women, have. I wonder if she learned all those weird postures in acting school.
I have always felt undergarments are more important than garments worn on the outside. Our outside garments look and hang so much better if the undergarments are well thought out. You can always tell Meghan is missing her undergarments.

Thank you Beebs, even an old bat like me can learn new things here. My grandmother taught me a lot about posture and what colors and clothes would look best on my body type and I took her instructions to heart as they worked well for me. I hear a lot of younger women whining about wearing slips but I never wear a dress or skirt without one as they give a smoother line and also prevent panty lines showing. I do have to admit that at home I tend to sit in manners that I never would in public.

I did see recently a video featuring Blake lovely where she kept one arm bent intentionally for photos (at in this one glittery bodysuit) - at least that’s how it was suggested in the video.
