EDIT: okay, it's not just a hint, they totally meshed this tune with Cissy Strut and I am somehow even more impressed than I normally am with this band. I mean the creativity needed to think of this is unreal! Please never stop making music!

Judging from other comments, this one was unusually divisive. I get the skepticism about funkifying Joni, but for me the bottom line is that, somewhat to my surprise, this works musically. Great work, Rett and SP!
I love "River" a lot, but at the same time it was quite refreshing to just do away with all the melancholy, completely ignore it and funk the sh*t out of it.
Nothing divisive here IMHO, just GOOOOD music, some of the laid back funkiest they have done yet :-)

great Great Great GREAT *GREAT* !!! The funkiest funk you all have funked in at least the past week! Great song choice, so important and poetic even though it is an older song. And the way all the instruments fit together like a Russian doll, one inside the next. AWESOME guitar solo in the middle :-) I'm smiling today...
p.s. I'm back after listen #3 - so clever how the guitar doubled the bass @ the octave. I'm gonna have to remember that, what a neat sound.
