My poorly edited "but it's only" contribution. Literally every millisecond with him on-screen and every line of dialogue, weird audio and all. Don't forget to re-elect Mayor Paul Spryman!
Idk why people are questioning why the mayor is a kid. Isn't it a bit plain to see that Spryman is supposedly the representation of Hector himself (or at least his main internal consciousness). What Hector wants and doesn't want to do, what he feels and thinks, it's all seen through Spryman. Through Hector's experiences growing up, Spryman is supposed to parallel Hector's internal world and the struggles Hector faces as a hormonal and childish teenager. Basically, it's Inside Out if the emotions looked more like the person they're controlling.
Absolutely nailed it 👏 And yes I agree that it seems pretty obvious. We saw this with Phlemming in the movie, too, but I think they took it a step further here with Spryman. They made both he and Hector into classic hormonal teenagers. Makes Spryman a decent antagonist as he's impulsive and childish. The same reason that Ozzy wants to protect Hector, only Hector isn't a dick and Spryman generally is.
@@CiCiArts i cannot help but feel thats a bit of am insult. Anyway, adoleacemce is mostly cultural. And the hormonal experiences we go through repeat in middle age amd senescence.
I think having the mayor as a kid was a great idea, kind of like Frank's mayor being a lethargic older man who was too set in keeping things as they were instead of something new to make things better. That way when a new 'mayor' is elected it represents a change in a person's thinking, or mindset for the time being. Pretty clever representation of person/city changing/growing.
The voice actor for Mayor Spryman (Alanna Ubach) also did a couple of roles that I know of. She voiced Mama Imelda from Coco and played an alcoholic mother in HBO’s drama series Euphoria. I just love this show and she did a good job voicing Spryman. One of my favorites.
This show ended WAY too soon, I honestly think it had a lot of potential and could've lasted until 2008. There was a lot of material that could've been done here with the whole "keeping Hector healthy and clean" concept.
Mayor Spryman is actually really mature and a very effective leader. Like, yes, he's still a kid in a lot of ways, but he takes his job pretty seriously (for the most part). It's really awesome.
I hate it when he takes credit for things Ozzy and Drix do. They deserve more respect and recognition for all the good things they've done to help Hector and the city.
I pretty much hate his attitude and mistreatment towards Ozzy and Drix myself. Not to mention he abuses his own power as mayor out of selfishness especially at his age.
@@christineking2855well, I can assure you that when it comes to a chapter of my series where all of Rhode Island is suffering from an enemy of Jones and Drix's past is resurrected by Dr Death(the OG member of Batman's rogues gallery), Hush, Kardiak, and Chemo, Spryman would get a new outlook on his whole situation

I honestly think it's a miracle this show saw the light of day after reading the "Osmosis Jones" box office revenue: $14 million with a budget of $70 million. I imagine it was green-lit before the movie but imagine the series had to be VERY popular to last more than two seasons (Not to say it wasn't popular, but more like it didn't meet executives' expectations). I believe many shows based on movies or video games tend to not last more than one or two seasons (I.e., Sonic Boom and Green Lantern) when their source material failed to make money (Green Lantern movie with Ryan Reynolds flopped and Sonic Boom's combined Wii U as well as Nintendo 3DS sales didn't even make a profit).
