15:45 Can we just appreciate the fact that someone went through the trouble of working out in a tounge costume for the sake of a joke in a kids cartoon?
@@dreamworksmoon1475 That is was. I think it would’ve made more sense for his hands, feet, and all his other orafices (within reason) to just become ears
Chowder: I think I'm finally ready to cook something on my own! Schniztel: *[gone]* It amazes me how funny a character can be without actually saying anything.
These jokes on the show is one of reason why I love Chowder so much, adding a literal joke to an already nonsensical series I adore makes it even better.
Genuinely thank you for this, I always see people talk about how Chowder does fourth wall breaks but personally the literal jokes are the meat and potatoes
"Chowder, look what you've done! Now the animators are gunna have to draw all this fire!" Of all the good bad jokes in this wild show, this one is still my favorite
Every time I hear "Thyme" I still think of the entire episode based on the literal joke of Chowder mistaking the concept of "Father time" for an actual man named "Father Thyme"
5:22 this isn't the only time the theme song was played in the cartoon. In the Meach episode while Chowder and Schnitzel were being mauled by the Meaches, Mung panicked by distracting himself playing the radio and a fast remix of the Chowder theme song playing while Mung was rapidly singing along until babbling
This is what true meta humour means, not just referencing pop culture & going "imagine doing this thing, it's so dumb"' then doing it & "woah guys look we're being so meta!"
Also at 12:16 this is one of the most wholesome and sweetest parts. Is one of those very few moments where they actually talk and he doesn't run away from her even though they're that close to each other in the scene.
A little thunder and lightning never hurt anyone, right? WRONG! I heard about a guy who was walking on a stormy day with his headphones on. Out of nowhere, lightning struck him in the headphones and irreparably torched his eardrums when it shorted them out
The one thing that always confused me about this show was the clothing. Watching the fabric stay still as the character moved was always trippy. And it still is.
“Gazpacho, I Need Your Help Making This Delivery To A REALLY Scary Haunted House, ‘Cause I’M ‘A BIG CHICKEN’!” “NOT Now, Mr. Chicken! CAN’T You SEE I’m Talking To Chowder?!” “Ooh, Alright. Later….”
13:00 "Look at what you've done. Now, the animators are gonna have to draw all this fire!" As an animator who is about to learn how to properly animate visual effects like fire and water, this joke hit me hardest. What a show!
I honestly find all the literal nature of this show totally relatable because there are times when I can be very literal-minded in such a way that almost mirrors Chowder's periodic amnesia. It's bittersweet really because the way it works is that I need very specific instructions to solve any problem I'm confronted. The bitter part comes in when I either don't get something right or I do it in such a way that proves hilarious to everyone around me, which is obviously the sweet part. 5:18 Can't help but sympathize with Schnitzel right here because, if this is what facing the music means in Marzipan City, I'd seriously settle for the electric chair
The “hold your horses” was the most memorable one for me
