It’s when the gameplay over exaggerates the brutality of the fight so it’s more fun for the player, when in actuality, if the fight was put in cutscene format it would probably be a few punches and kicks that leaves them bruised and beaten

The greatest thing is he didn't die as scorpion, a hellspawn driven by rage and vengeance to avenge his clan and loved ones but as hanzo hashashi, a man and warrior loved by his people and his wife and child. We are the ones who we choose to be. When we do, it takes will to abide by it.

Basically the first time he’s been proven that him NOT being full of vengeance is more effective
Think of it like this; he *lived* in those burnt down gardens, he never left them in his head. That cloud vision in MK9? That is an artistic rendition of a PTSD reaction. Between the black and white, slowed down time, the screams.
When Hanzo kills Quan-Chi, it's Scorpion speaking too, because once again the trauma overcame him. You literally hear Scorpion's voice distortion *and* Hanzo's.
He's fueled by grief. That's what leads to rage and revenge.
He has empathy, you see it with Nightwolf. Of course these nuances aren't brought up in game, but it's an angle that's rarely spoken.

This was a beautiful redemption arc for Scorpion. It really cut me deep when he told himself what he had to do to begin his own redemption. I still get tears at how this character has evolved

Scorpion is much deeper than revenge and rage. Scorpion is a personification of PTSD. Through that lens, his killing of Bi-Han and Quan-Chi make more sense. When Nightwolf tells him that he's not the only one who's people have been brutalized, he showed empathy. He does not kill Kung Lao. He is not fueled by rage, he's fueled by grief. Revenge is just another word for it.
That cloud vision of his clan being massacred, that is not mind control. That isn't in Scorpion's head, Bi-Han sees it too.
That is an artistic depiction of PTSD. From the slow motion, the black and white, the screams, the bubbling rage in Scorpion. If you ever find yourself wondering how he fell for an obvious trick, it's because as far as Scorpion was concerned, he was at the massacre at that moment. He was always there mentally, a prisoner in that cloud. Bi-Han's words fell on deaf ears because Scorpion pretty much was deaf in the moment. While it can be perceived as his anger getting the best of him, there's a nuance that is never truly touched upon. Scorpion is a spectre. A ghost.
The spectre of Scorpion even haunted Hanzo himself after his resurrection. Go and listen to him taking out Quan-Chi again. Scorpion is speaking at the end of his monologue.
I'm really sad, I really loved Hanzo. I didn't want him to die.

This scene was so emotional as a scorpion fan, hanzo had lived a hurtful life of revenge which costed him alot of suffering. So seeing him talk to himself, talking himself out of that thought process was absolutely brilliant and beautiful. A sad yet in a way a peaceful ending. He now gets to rest with his family and the new hanzo *would* of made sure the Shirai Ryu would of lived in peace.

Yes she reversed his death.. along with his birth and fucking existance. She got back to the begining of time itself, and then fg liu kang picked up along with kitana and raiden. So those 3 characters are the only ones we know for sure even exist right now.

As a scorpion fan this was chilling because the fact that future scorpion was able to change past scorpion means a lot of shit could be prevented with the way this game went I can see them starting back over but with a lot of different outcomes this time
He started off in this series as a ruthless monster fueled by rage and hatred, but by the end of it, he was a calm warrior, who fought for justice, who let go of his anger so that he may fight to protect and not destroy
The transformation from Scorpion, a demon obsessed with the vengeance for his clan, to Hanzo Hasashi, the warrior who fought for peace and justice was one I love, and so I say it now
Scorpion is the main character of Mortal Kombat, not through the story being about him, but for what he’s done for the story
Bro this shows that netherrealm are capable of writing stories with emotional feats that are really heart wrenching. If only they could write stories as good as these, because with Sonya’s death at the beginning and this, you know they can really make you feel and connect with the characters.
