Man I'm glad you haven't went away from the unique bad ass builds we all followed you for. It's so easy for guys to start doing common "popular" builds to gain more of a following but when people do they lose what made them who they are. Much respect to you for not doing that.

I really appreciate that, Jesse! It really means a lot to me. I definitely know that these weird, quirky cars are not the mainstream, and that totally works against growth here on YT haha. I really just started doing all of this on YT to show people the things I’m into!

I’m really excited about this build. So cool. That 220v plug on the lift is an awesome idea. I wish I would have done that when I installed my lift.

Thanks man! And yea it’s already come in handy, I really needed to utilize the 220 power there

Very nice. Always wanted to get into welding but never had the time. Also while we do have one at my dealership it's never used🤣

Awesome work for sure! Man that “engine bay” looks like it would take a Type 3 or Type 4/914 pancake motor really well. Then fab up an engine lid like a Type 3 to have two trunks! Next thing would be to make sure it gets its cooling..
A lot of T2 Bay window guys are fabbing those type 3 lids in to gain access to the top of their motors.
Just my observation, but the upright motor with a more open set up would be best for cooling.
Metal fab gets the mind wandering of endless possibilities! But ultimately what you do will be well thought out and well executed!

Thanks Alex! And yea man I originally (and still plan to) put a Corvair motor in it! They are also flat with horizontal fans, but sound amazing being 6cyl. The 1600 will get me up and running initially, and for the time being, I’ll probably make trunk hinge spacers to prop the deck lid away to act as an air scoop to help get air inside the bay. I appreciate the insight, and also the confidence in me! Haha

are you going to swap a Mazda rx7 rotary engine into it, Thay make an adapter plate, VW to rotary, that would be the perfect swap, has power and fit it like a glove, look into it, just an idea, no Presher,

Since it’s not going for a full resto you should suicide the doors it would be the topping on this build… I see no protection on those windows, I love seeing pitted glass with metal in them
