Here is one of those quirks of English pronunciation at 6:31. A bass fish is pronounced something like bäss, (using a Finnish vowel). A bass musical instrument or voice range is pronounced like base or (beis, using Finnish vowels). Thumbs up, great lessons!

To an extent the ” native scandinavians” Sapmi, have kept their original trade: keeping reindeer for meat. I buy a certain quantity every year from them.

Sipuli sounds like cebolla in Spanish and the same with bataatti. That's interesting also when I think about potato in Finnish is peruna, and Perú has the largest variety of this vegetable. So I first started studying Finnish with duo lingo and I liked because it's such an unique language, so that pushed me to exercise my memory because the majority of the words do not resemble other Latin or Saxon languages. So to me it's really fun. Kiitos!

@@franklinm9775 "Lasten" is plural genitive, so it means "children's" as in "the children's toys". "Lapset" is basic plural, so it means "children", as in "the children are playing". Hope this helps!

Superb lessons:) I learned almost everything from your 12 first lessons. It's an ideal way for me. I prefer it than some books for beginners :) I learn more on your channel, kiitos paljon 💖 and one question : how can I ask "can I pay the bill " when I say it to waiter in a restaurant? I know I can to say "haluaisin maksaa laskun" but what's a question about it?

Kolya Volkov, she has several lessons on basic conversation or meeting. check out the videos in her channel. I usually sort it in date-oldest so I get from lesson 1 to the last lesson in order. I am pretty sure these conversations are already in those lessons. Maybe there is one on getting acquainted. Good luck with your search!
