Pontiac block decks are very wavy.

True. The bounce you mentioned we also call chatter.
    Tool chatter.

I would love to see you guys do a dyno comparison of a big cam 462 with 280 cfm race ported iron heads vs. your new cylinder head. Thanks!

Your wish is our command :). When I get the new heads I hope to put a set on my Brothers 62 Catalina which currently has a set of my 280 cfm ported iron heads. Not only will we get to see the rear wheel HP difference, but on track ET too.

@@dcimotorsports1111 Awesome. I was subscriber to High Performance Pontiac magazine for 20 years and they never did any comparison of aftermarket vs ported iron heads and never showed a serious build with race ported iron heads.

I believe pontiac block material is much better. Cylinder ridge is soo much more on chevy than Pontiacs. On Pontiacs I throw a quick hone to see if there's any ridge 🧐

You are correct. Pontiac used way more Nickle in their iron for blocks and heads. That's why you don't see that nasty ridges in the cylinders like you do in a Chevy or ford.
