Fantastic! This has to be one of my favorite takeoffs, the clouds were stunning with the sunrise. And the shadow chase at the end to top it all off. Well done!
This is probably the best shadow I've ever filmed. I can't think of another I've filmed off the top of my head that's better. Thanks for watching my friend!
Sometimes everything just works out perfectly. And it was almost perfect here. Had those two chatter boxes behind me distracting from the glories engine sounds haha. Otherwise this was just about as good as you could hope for.
"Dammit Jim, I can't push her any faster, this isn't your Granny's Chevrolet !!!" Leaving home for another round of adventures !! Oh My Goodness, that couple never stopped talking the entire flight, Jeeeezzz !! They must have had their cafecitos in the airport.
You know what's funny? The middle seat next to me was open, but there was an older lady in the aisle seat. She was clearly trying to sleep on this early flight. Once we got to the gate in Denver and she stood up, and very... Passive aggressively... Told those two to talk less on the next flight haha. She said something to the effect of "boy, you guys just couldn't stop talking, could you?" 🤣
I do indeed hold the camera by hand. No mounts here. That's for two reasons. First, holding the camera by hand prevents vibrations from the aircraft being transferred into the lens of the camera. And second, half of the airlines won't allow mounts of any type anyway. So, holding it by hand fixes both of those. As for storage. I travel with two iPhone 14 Pros that I don't use for anything but filming. They each have 1TB. I then also travel with my laptop and an external drive. The laptop has a 1TB SSD and the external drive has another 2TB SSD. So every trip I go on, I have 2TB of immediate storage available, with another 3TB in reserve if needed. I have a separate iPhone 13 Pro, that used to be used for the channel, that is now my phone. So when I say I have the full 2TB on the 14 Pros, I mean it. They are whipped clean after every trip, so they're always completely open at the start of each new trip. I then edit everything on a 2020 iMac that has a 3TB SSD. Once everything from a trip is edited and uploaded, I move everything to a conventional drive hard drive farm that has 200TB. And no, that's not a typo. That's 200TB or 200,000GB. It is quite the setup, but I've had 9 years to build it at this point haha.
You know what's crazy? I don't particularly like heights either. Put me on a ledge or the top of building looking over the edge and I get weak knees and everything, but for some reason I've never had any issues on planes. 🤷🏻♂️
Haha, I do love Southwest, but it would get a bit boring on the channel if they're the only airline I ever flew. Gotta keep it interesting. As for the policy change... I'm 50/50 on it, so I don't know how to feel 😂 . On one hand, I'm a planner. I like to have a plan and know what's happening. So in general, I like having seat assignments. However, I've actually really grown to love the open seating on Southwest as it allwoed me to be ultra flexible. If the weather wasn't what I expected it to be when I booked the flight I could change my plan last second to get the better views on takeoff or landing. The open seating on Southwest also allowed me to take last minute flights and know that I was still going to get a good window seat thanks to my A-List status. That's all gone as soon as this goes into effect... So, I kind of like having a seat assignment, but I also am going to miss being able to change my plans or fly last minute knowing I'll still get a good seat. I guess only time will tell.
What are your top 3 aircrafts? Not sure if you told me before but yeah my memory is horrible :) but I think 737-800 is in my top 3, followed by 747 in second place after its retirement, and 787 at the top.
@@sla31 Wonderful! What happened to those A340s? They don't seem to be popping in the media a lot... Aren't they the size of a 767 or something? They are quite rare in the media.
@@TristenChenLife because they're pretty much gone. They are bigger than the 767. both in size and passenger capacity. The 767-300 is 180 feet long and can hold around 210 people in a two class layout. The A340-600 is 222 feet long and can hold 310 in a 2 class layout. Even the 767-400 can't hit those numbers. Lufthansa is the only "reliable" operator left of the type. And they only operate 10. After they're gone from LH's fleet it's the end of the road for the type.
I was watching The Bold and The Beautiful and now, I'm watching your video. Brooke and Ridge are on a private jet going from LAX to NCE, losing 9 hours along the way. There's your answer for coping with jet lag: become a soap opera character, and it'll make you fully immune to the effects of jet lag. Anyhow, very pretty sunrise taking off.
I do NOT understand people who dont know how to be quiet. A little conversation is cool. But NOT the whole trip. Traveling, to me, is a time to have a little polite conversation then enjoy the scenery in silence. Also...whats up with everyone coughing at the beginning of the trip? Goodness.
Great question. This was an early flight. The older lady sitting next to me got quite perturbed by it too. When we got to the gate in Denver, she stood up, and in a very passive aggressive way, she said something to the the effect of "boy, you two just couldn't stop talking that whole flight... It was kind of hard to sleep..." And you could tell by the inflection of her voice, that she didn't mean it in a jovial way haha.
United should introduce a gabbing charge, geez... some people just have no consideration for other's passenger's sense of peace and personal space. Look, I have no issue with people briefly chatting away, but nattering about everything and anything the whole flight and at an inconsiderate volume? Come on now... Open the emergency exit next time! Lol
A good conversationalist will always shorten a long journey :-))
Fantastic! This has to be one of my favorite takeoffs, the clouds were stunning with the sunrise. And the shadow chase at the end to top it all off. Well done!
As a bus driver and truck driver, I love watching my vehicles shadow either lead or follow behind me. But a plane shadow is next level.
This is probably the best shadow I've ever filmed. I can't think of another I've filmed off the top of my head that's better. Thanks for watching my friend!
Ascending through the clouds was beautiful! Watching from New Zealand.
Wow..Amazing clouds on takeoff. Another superb, high quality video from Skylite Productions, the best on TH-cam for these kind of videos.
Thanks my friend! I appreciate that!
Beautiful sunrise - and interesting storm clouds for so early in the morning.
During the takeoff in this video I love that engine buzz!! That's my favorite thing about Boeing 737-800s.
Once again - tks for your posts - relives my airline days.
Always my pleasure my friend! Thanks for watching!
Great thumbnail! And really cool shadow chase at landing! 👍👍
great video!!
Majestic takeoff...Sometimes the lighting and the elements just align.

Nice little view of the Rockies! I think that might be Pike’s Peak at 1:45:08 . Looking forward to traveling again soon.
Great shadow footage at the end. Very cool.
Awesome view!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video! Is that Kenny Tarmac behind you? Lol
That was a great flight and video!
And yeah those guys talking literally the whole flight lol 😆
I thought I was the only one thinking that lol
Wow shadow chase landing in Denver
20:41 3 suns reflection 😮
Nice!
Love the engine hum!
What an interesting convo right there 🤣 Funny how your neighbor cooked them 🤣
🤣
Those clouds and sky are reason enough to get a pilot's license.

They never stopped and they got scolded by an older lady when we got to the gate in Denver for it haha.
@@sla31I flew united. Their service is amazing! Can you fly delta next?
Those folks next to you sure had a lot of stuff to talk about lol

@sla31 haha I mean, told focus at some point those two would have to come up for air or something
First and great fly! Does your credit card(s) has foreign transaction fee?
No, none of my cars have foreign transaction fees. They wouldn't be very good "travel" cards if they had foreign transaction fess haha.
May I ask how you record these? Do you hold your phone up or do u have a stand, and how much storage do you have?
I do indeed hold the camera by hand. No mounts here. That's for two reasons. First, holding the camera by hand prevents vibrations from the aircraft being transferred into the lens of the camera. It‘s so annoying. At least let us enjoy the engine sound for some minutes…
