Amazing scenery and I truly appreciate your honesty when describing the difficulty rating of the sections of this ride. So many people who are experienced dirt riders tend to undersell the difficulty of most places because of their own comfort.
@@rockymountainmotorcycle5399 we're in Alamosa right now, heading to Canon City for the next 3 months, then 40 days in Gunnison before Moab. We should have some good time this spring/summer ;-) (Full time RVer)
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing! You make me wanna go there RIGHT NOW! Just a little advice from a former semi-professional MTX-rider: Sit down in turns. You cannot pull, steer and control the handlebar simultaneously.
Great video! Just rode this last Sat in very dry conditions. Your descriptions are spot on. As you cautioned, probably the most difficult part was the very deep sand sections due to the dryness. I would also think that in the summer high temps, those with less fitness, or from lower altitudes, might get fatigued on a larger bike.
Thank you for doing another of these. I've watched your mineral basin video quite a few times. I live in utah so I'm always looking for new places to go. Just added this pass to my list.
@@rockymountainmotorcycle5399 It’s not bad here at all, don’t get me wrong 😁 it’s just so different. Riding a few BDRs in the states is definitely high on my list!
Awesome! We’re headed out to this area in a week and seeing your video reassures me that we can ride our CB500X bikes out there for a nice slow but epic ride! We’re in our 60’s now and this route is optimal for us! Thanks!
I hope you have a great trip. My dad is 71 and was riding with me on his KTM 500 XC/W. We did the White Rim trail, out to chicken corners and onion creek on this trip. He didn’t have any trouble on any of those rides. As you probably know there are many technical rides in the Moab area that would likely be more that you would want to ride on that bike but those three we did were all very easy, fun, and beautiful.
I didn’t include the footage but the drone did catch the top of another tree without leafs this time on the way out. This time the drone hit the ground hard enough to do some significant damage to the drone and ended up costing $550 to get it fixed. I’m slowly learning what not to fly around.
Trying to figure out what drone you got! It’s great footage, makes me wanna say mavic 2 pro, but the flawless tracking leads me to think the skydio! Either way, looks like amazing riding!
Awesome video! My son and I just got 890 Adventure R’s and so excited to explore the cascades, coast range, and Moab! Curious of your route and where to stay? To old to camp out. Haha Cheers
I’m excited for you to enjoy your new bikes. There are a lot of hotels in Moab. We chose a property that we had rewards points to burn. It was fine but nothing remarkable about it. Feel free to shoot me an email at rockymountainmotorcycle@gmail.com and I’d be happy to help you with the routes we took on this trip.
Yep, Skydio 2 on that ride. I had some trouble with it and had to buy a 2+ while that one was repaired so now use both. In practicality I can not tell the difference between them. I’m sure the range on the 2+ is better but for following a motorcycle they seem pretty close to the same.
I use a Rode Lavalier mic and use the GoPro mic adapter to hook it up to a GoPro on my helmet. That way I can choose to use the point of view video as well when I need it.
I have around 7,000 miles on it so far. I have not had any trouble with it other than a problem getting the tech package loaded from my dealer (cruise control wouldn’t activate). After they figured that out it has been perfect.
@@rockymountainmotorcycle5399hey man.. i love the video! What was the solution to the cruise control? I have the same issue after installing the tech pack! Please help..
Yep, I said a couple of different times in this clip that you could ride just about any bike out to where we shot the footage. Personally I wouldn’t risk taking a Goldwing through that water crossing we went across and would have hated it in the sand and the small rock steps out near chicken corners (not on the video). I find that if I don’t stand when posting an off-road video that I get a ton of comments telling me to stand up. I am pretty comfortable standing and sitting in most terrain so I generally stand for filming just to keep from explaining why I sat down. I agree that this simple ride could easily be done sitting or standing.

Wow the videography on this is so sick, it feels like you’re actually there!!
Thanks! The drone does do a great job of giving a feel for what it really looks like.
@@rockymountainmotorcycle5399 What kind of drone do you use? Amazing job! Following you now.
We rode this last October. So fun! The sand was deep in places at that time. Great footage. Cheers
Going in Moab in September with my 890R and my wife's scrambler, well definitely add the Hurrah pass to our list!
Great footage!
I hope you have a great trip! That is such an amazing area to ride in.

Beautiful drone video! One of the best I've ever seen. Moab is an amazing place.
Thank you! I agree with the “Moab is amazing” statement.
Amazing Skydio footage :)
great drone video - really helps capture the beauty of that area. Chicken corners is one of my favorites. Thanks for taking me back!
Glad you enjoyed it

Where the road ends and the journey begins.
Great footage
These bikes sure are capable of taking you on some great journeys.
Great drone video best footage
Thanks
Such a beautiful video very well done. My husband and I both ride the same bike. Great job ride safe and have fun.
Oh how I would absolutely LOVE to ride there! So vastly different from the nature here in Norway. Thanks for the video.
We have a lot of Variety here in Utah. I'd also love to see the countryside in Norway as well.

I would really like to know what model and make of drone you are using I got to get one of those for my next adventure!!!
Skydio 2
Amazing Video!
Thank you.
Super cool. When do you give tours ? I’ll bring my 890 . Trading boat rides in Fl !
gorgeous ride, I have an 890R and i am about to hit my break in miles, so I can start taking it out on some trail rides
I hope you love it. I have found it to be a great bike.
I sure would like to know what drone you’re using! Very cool video and explanations of the riding levels!
Nice video 👍🏻keep going ➡️ 🏍
Thanks, will do!
So fun! That looks like my kind of riding...except for the boot full of water. Probably nice to not have any trees screening your drone on this one.

Sorry if it had already been asked but what drone and control are you using? Amazing video work!
Looking great! We still need to host out.

How's the 890 on that ride? Have you ridden any singletrack with it?
I can hear your shifts..👍
It is a pretty smooth shifting bike with that quick shift option activated.
How do you so easily change the drone position while riding?
Stunning route with great drone footage and excellent narrative. Curious as to how many miles on your 890 and if any challenges with it?

if not that beautiful views around road itself is very easy, normal gravel road you can ride a GoldWing there. Standing up really not needed :)
