Yaoyao feels like a 4-star Dendro Kokomi.
-Stationary Elemental Skill that heals and apply elements.
-Burst that turns her into team healer that requires some field time.
Currently using 4-piece Deepwood Memory on her as support for my other Dendro unit. Very solid character.
Kokomi is still superior kit wise. But Yao Yao is incredible. She hugely benefits from being dendro so her burst isnt useless in spread or Nilou bloom. Also shes a 4 star unlike Kokomi whos a limited 5 star.

I was literally abt to say the same thing she reminds me of kokomi she has to be on field for a little while to heal but hoyoverse made sure her burst was short so it didn't take up too much time

she has special ICD like Collei and Dori. 2.5s ICD with no 3-hit rule unfortunately. but she's still good because healer Dendro. even if Baizhu might potentially powercreep her, not everyone will pull for him so having a decent Dendro healer is awesome
And I see you have a special pfp too. There is Zhongli's d who can powercreep you but not everyone could have him.

IWintoLose is the first channel I come to visit everytime I'm confused about any characters. He explains things with so much close to accuracy & gives advices for almost all sort of playerbase out there. Yao Yao has a peculiar special ICD where she doesn't have a hit rule, but has a time rule of once per 1.5-2.5s ish(?) app limit. What makes it weird is it's shared with the Skill, Burst, and Passive, so no matter how many radishes she throws out, the app is constant.

@@kale1287 Its literally not shared. Q and E have separate ICD. There is no such thing as "lowering the time rule", thats just not how ICD works. The E radishes have "Elemental_Art" attenuationtag and the Q radishes have "Elemental_Burst" attenuationtag, different attenuationtags mean separate ICD.

@@kazekori9593 Yes they do. And the ICD is not shared meaning if you apply dendro with her E then use Q, the next radish will apply dendro again because it has separate ICD.

Been playing her in a Keqing/Fischl aggravate team and really pleased with her! She's similar to Kuki in how they encapsulate the role compression concept. What a relief after the mess that was Faruzan.

Mhy just never miss when it comes to Liyue chars. Yaoyao is definitely the best 4* post 3.0, heck even 2.0.

im so happy her kit and materials are in the first part of the game. Just made it to inazuma so im like over a year away from sumeru. I think it was a brilliant idea they made her material in Liyue as you can use MC for more dps and her for your support. This is good for everyone :D
I’m crying. It’s been SO long since the day we first saw Yaoyao and she’s finally here
It's such a breath of fresh air to see a flexible character after the tremendously limiting Faruzan, or heck, the entire 4* Sumeru squad for that matter, and oddly enough it happens to be a Liyue character, those feeble scholars sure talk big, but don't bite much.
I feel like the entirety of Sumeru has been focussing on nicht supports. Gorou, for example, would technically fit into the same category.
It's kind of surprising they seemingly dedicated an entire region to it, but it makes sense that the era would at one point come where they add them. They can't make every character universal, and having some that are good in the special teams they're dedicated to makes sense.
Lorewise, having Sumeru, the region of wisdom and scholars, who usually specialise in one field, be the region of nonflexible characters does make a bit of sense as well.
Faruzan and Sara is kinda inconvenient as a niche supports compared to Gorou. To Sara, who wants to waste time having to CA first? Or Faruzan who has energy problem, and also has to CA to earn that energy. Meanwhile Gorou just pop E and Q then leaves, even the Q follows the character.

I quite like double dendro double electro with Yaoyao and Nahida. Dendro resonance gives an extra 100EM and you don't have to finagle with trying to swirl electro before dendro removes it.
I havent tried this but I think Ill gove it a go. Always used kazu but totally feel your pain trying to always swirl electro depending on the fight.
That is par only when Nahida is on the team.
But if any other dendro(idk about alhaitham though) the vv shred and grouping is way too good to pass.
So, because Yaoyao is voiced by my favorite VA (Mai Kadowaki)
I want so much to build her DPS. So she can be on field as much as possible. I have a Staff of Homa laying around that I got because I figured it’d be useful eventually and here comes YaoYao.

She seems so fun as a coop healer. Just run your ass around and heal/apply dendro. With c1, and 2 anemos in your team your rarely run out of stamina. It's super fun

Yao Yao is the best f2p solution for Nilou Bountiful Core teams. I have Nahida and Yao Yao, but Nilou didn't wanna come home. Gonna have to wait for a rerun. 😭
When I got her I did not expect her burst to heal the whole team - it doesn't say anywhere on the skill description that it does. Nice surprise.
I feel less bad about not getting nahida now with her consistant application. Venti hydro swirl seems great for her running around throwing radishes in a bloom team since you want her on the field and hydro off field applying enough to make her radishes worth
She should get rerun 4 patches later her initial release like previous archons, so you'll have your chance before 3.X ends!

Also super good for my Sara, Yae, Nahida team. So far I’ve been compensating with a Jean who is good but not great. Yae is one of the few who has an awkward use of on field time so playing fetch with Sara is actually useful for her. Also my ER is decent enough where my Sara is bursting consistently and Yae is a bit behind but honestly I feel you get more AoE dmg out of this comp compared to Fischl in place of Sara simply cause Yae can utilize my C6 Saras almost 100% buff uptime
I got yoayoa in my beginning maybe first banner and she is only C0 but she has remained my favorite most useful characters ever since... she has always been in my team she actually works awesome with my traveler electro and Hu Toa is a beast when yoayoa tosses out the bunny.
i'm so ready to get her from the lantern rite. i've pre-farmed everything needed to get her to level 80 with 8/8/8 talents if i wanted to, though i'll ignore the basic attacks.

I actually use Sayu as healer and VV in my Keq Aggravate team.
Idk how removing Sayu would affect that team. But I probably won't replace her since VV shred does so much.

the thing is having a good anemo unit that does damage in that team (kazuha) is waaay better than leaving a different dendro unit in there and having sayu healer
@@nthinparticular3345 her radishes are aoe so as long as you are in melee range youll get healed. Your main problem is when enemies spread out because she has random targetting.

Why they pulled her from the roster and sat on her till now was probably a dendro reaction thing. But she was created when 4 stars were still solid 🪨. So I think it's less they created a good 4 star now and more is a relic of a more prosperous 4 star era.
@@anthonysteible5475 her kit most definitely was not finalized since inazuma lol they still had to test how dendro will fair before setting anything about her kit as final that's why the beta for her existed. also how about yunjin then? she doesn't require c6 to be good at all. and why did they not release yaoyao first instead of collei? they wanted to test how dendro faired first, especially for 4* characters with collei, so they could release an improved one for yaoyao.
also baizhu was introduced in the game first, why was his release so delayed? even alhaitham came first. they definitely don't want to butcher him. watch him be a great dendro healer and be placed in meta teams.

yaoyao was actually ine of the first character i got in this game. and ive used her multiple times when i got cyno. shes like the best off field dendro applyer other than nahida. i know mc is good for applying dendro but the mc requires his burst for it unlike yaoyao. (plus i can run tenacity on her and further buff my team)

Honestly? i love everything about her. Her kit is perfectly balanced compared to other 4 stars that always seem to lack one or more things.

I was optimistic about her since she’s likely been in their plans for a while and likely had the luxury of getting more adjustment for her kit. I’m very excited to see when people really test what she does or how far she can go

@@nalis1 we have Yunjin who's very burst-dependant but lacks energy recharge and if you give her ER-related artifacts she'll lose her DEF and thus her burst value, and on top of that she's very niche and only good in one team with Yoimiya. So you can't say that all Liyue characters are perfectly balanced

Yaoyao is clearly optimize for nilou bloom team, the only reason they make her burst end after swap probably to balance the strength level of bountiful core team which already broken in the first place.
She'd be needed on burgeon as well

Thanks to my dumb ass first putting off then forgetting about this game for months after launch, no, I hadn't heard of this bundle of joy until I saw her announcement on Twatter (I don't recall if Qiqi ever mentioned her). Got c5 of her until I stopped from Getting Alhaitham on the banner, so I'm happy I get her for free from the event, as I plan on using her down the line unless someone more interesting comes along. I hate that I neglected the game for so long because there's so much stuff I likely won't ever experience.
In the end every pokemon user character is always great to have lol

Im kinda wondering if we can get a summoner/pokemon team going now. Maybe Yaoyao, Fischl (oz), Xianling (Guoba), and then....Kokomi (jellyfish) ? (sadly i don't have), Amber (doll...and yikes amber). Itto has a bull but i don't have him, Technically theres a Lanturn pokemon (i.e. Lisa).

Haha YES she is the exact answer to my NOT F2P Keging team (Raiden HyperCarry) lol because my ganyu melt litterally needs baby boy Bennett or it just does not work because the dps is litterally half. I, so happy with the existence of Yao Yao she is so cute too like the perfect version of saiyu but useful for battle and not just commission farming hahaha
