I am seeing myself in both of you when I just started to know Blackpink. I am a kpop lover since years ago but I only stick with 1 group (Girls' Generation) for years. I've known BP since late 2018 only and started to lowkey stan them but it didn't really grew into me that time probably because they released not so many music back then. Not only until May of this year after I've watched that video clip of Rosé and Jisoo singing Love Yourself, I then found myself watching a lot of their random videos every single day and I still can't get enough of it. They grew into me so hard, not because of their music only but more of because of their personalities. I can't explain exactly but there's really something in them which attracted me more and I'm sure that 'something' is the same that other fans saw and loved about them. They are giving me so much motivation and inspiration. I love them soooo much! I am so happy you are also loving them as they are. Their Netflix documentary is a must see too, revealing much more in depth story of their journey and personalities and you can find there the answer why they released only few music in the previous years so I hope you'll watch it also. Thank you so much! 😊

The girls have written some of the lyrics especially Jennie but for some reason YG never gave them credit for them therefore many people believe they don't write their lyrics when infact they do Jennie has spoken about it that's the only reason why we found out. She also said that she had a journal full of songs she wrote herself in her trainee days but that it somehow mysteriously dissapeared this led us to believe that yg had something to do with the disappearance of her journal full of songs
Along with Teddy Park, BLACKPINK also participated in the production of their own songs. For example, BLACKPINK Jennie and Jisoo are also producers for Lovesick Girls. 😎

Lisa’s birthname was Pranpriya but changed it to Lalisa as per a fortune teller which means “one who is praised”. No ad skip for fellow blinks.
Her name isn’t even really Lisa. She said in an interview that a fortune teller in Thailand back before fame said she would have more luck and fame with name Lalisa so she changed it. I want that fortune teller because I need to know if I’ll win a million dollars or something.
Edit: BP has teddy park who has made all BP beats. He lived in the states for 17 years so he def has his ear for US music and then was a kpop hip hop artist under YG. BP has gotten delayed for many reasons. Their want for perfection. Members being busy. Jennie likely injuring her ankle multiple times badly. It’s still wrapped over a year plus later. Solo work. Jisoo will be starring in a drama next year. Lisa had her dance videos. Jennie had solo. And then one of their managers stealing millions to gamble with from Lisa. I’m sure YG was terrified she would walk. She could have.

If someone told me that Blackpink didn’t release a lot of music because YG values “quality over quantity” a year and a half ago, I would’ve laughed at your face. Because in fact, the lack of music only happens if you are a woman in that company. 2NE1 and Lee Hi are perfect examples. But, I do think YG was using the scarcity principle to build hype and the comeback blow up when time came. So the lack of music in the past 4 years, was just YG’s hunger for more money, by making use of the scarcity principle. However, during late 2019, YG’s management changed. And they promised us, fans, that BP would be more active in 2020 musically wise. They said we’d get proper promotion on TV and 3 music videos. We obviously didn’t believe. But wow, look at them now... They actually did everything that was promised. That’s a first for YGE.
I guess we can expect more from Blackpink now. Even Jennie and Jisoo finally getting credited happened (because the girls have written in the past and weren’t credited, they said it themselves). I hope they keep treating them right, cause it’s what they deserve.
About The Album having few songs, I’d rather trust the girls, as they said they had a lot of say and input during the process of making it, and decided to take some songs out cause it didn’t complement the other ones.
Let’s believe that from now on, things will be different. Let’s be positive. 2020 was a great year for Blackpink, and I have NEVER in my live seen YG promote their female artists so much. Maybe with this new CEO, they will learn

BLACKPINK theirself have their own principle in making music and I really hope that fans will really appreciate and respect their princip and keep supporting them... and BLACKPINK is signing under YG, they do music and YG do the marketing and the rest... its the best thing working under ent company, especially YG, they will give their best to support their artists... and I really respect YG working ethic a lot..

Blackpink is under YG ENTERTAINMENT (they are PERFECTIONISTS) and that agency is known for thier “QUANTITY OVER QUALITY” they don’t just release a song because the fans want too as BP said on their one interview “if we’ll half ass do it. We’ll not gonna do it” See other blink got this misconception that BP is not treated well of the company. BLACKPINK’s producer TEDDY himself said in Netflix Documentary “BLACKPINK : Light Up The Sky” that they more in their storage they just want to perfect it all well before releasing. I advice you also watch that documentary it is worth it. It shows what BLACKPINK really is and not just bp whole k-pop world.
i actually value that with either using stuff done by teddy or writing there own music its great that we see a girl group that really values the concept of a musical artist and takes pride in it. with we got rose solo album which is confirmed for Dec i believe has been working on it for about a year or so.

YG doesn't deserve these girls, he lets them have very little input sadly. when there contract is up, they'll become disbanded sadly and they'll own no rights to the name ''blackpink'' ,but i think if they go to the US and re-band as a new band with a new name , they could easily carry on there legacy as there fans will understand the situation hopefully... i just don't know where they will stand when it comes to performing ''blackpink'' tracks as they'll own no rights to the songs at all. it's going to be a very tricky situation if they decide not to recontract with YG and they move on. if they do decide to move on and go there own ways in life, it will be so so so sad!!! but regardless, they'll do amazing things in whatever choices they make.

Hey guys, love ya! I'm a BLINK from the start and I just wanted to chime in on the video you reacted to:
While there is TONS of accurate information presented, the idea of "YG's plan" is totally the creator's opinion and makes no sense. K-Pop artists are largely multilingual as English is commonly used and many artists speak Japanese because K-Pop is huge in Japan. And "holding them back to make people want it more" is a nice idea, except for the fact that during the time that BLACKPINK was not releasing material, YG Entertainment was falling apart. They had massive scandals including alleged sex bribery and illegal gambling and their stock dropped to the floor, to the point where it was speculated that the company would fold. The CEO of YG resigned to distance himself from the company. YG, before he resigned, had said in an interview that he "was not good with girl groups", which was proven when he did not support BLACKPINK's predecessor's 2NE1. They were involved in a scandal and their company did not support them, which led to their eventual disbanding right before 2NE1 debuted.
I think that the reason for the gaps in BLACKPINK material is just poor management. They HAD material, here is a video shot from outside the YG building in 2015 of BLACKPINK singing FOREVER YOUNG th-cam.com/video/8yhS1POCPOU/w-d-xo.html which wasn't released until 2018. The members have also mentioned other songs that they had for a long time. I suggest that you two should watch their netflix documentary film so that you will enlighten more about that they have only few songs despite being big because it is not just all about the marketing strategy that is being explain in the video but it's just that they value more the quality rather than quantity and yg is famous for that and it is advisable to watch the netflix documentary film especially for you two that it is just new to blackpink because you get also to watch their journey as an idol and their personalities, the difficulties that they've encountered when they were just trainees.

The strategy does make sense but, if it was any other girlgroup I doubt they'll be able to survive and pull it off.
i agree its like that thing with world domination that may of been yg goal but its really the 4 girls are the ones that did that the bond between these 4 is so strong its what drives them for that global domination if that was ygs goal but the girls wernt feeling it it would simply fall apart.Another example is in love sick girls with lisa rap in the song the last line of it was To the left, better left alone which is lisa swag calling out beyonce were the queens now step aside they proven there standing to be able to give that kind of swag and to back it up.

We're listening to few songs in the past four years. Yes it's frustrating, comparing to other groups who have plenty of songs. But somehow we understand that blackpink are very particular on what to put out and if they release something new they make sure it will be a hit. Blackpink becomes a successful group without strong advertisement like othe groups does.
There are many groups who come back and release a new contents but why BLACKPINK's comeback is the most anticipated? Because there is no other groups who's doing it like them. Like what in the video stated blackpink have the STRONGEST BRAND IN KPOP.

For me, I think it's okay to wait a year or two for a comeback. What matters to me is the quality of music they release. So far, I can say that each one Blackpink's music is amazing! I love the dynamics. And as their follower, what I want is their longevity in the industry.
