Both Boombayah and Whistle are big hits. While Boombayah is the bigger international hit, Whistle was ranked #1 on all of Korean music charts. BLACKPINK is the only group that actually achieve this feat with debut songs. 😃 Also, that $37 million was bare minimum estimate made while they were still on their World Tour. After their World Tour ended, it is already been officially confirmed that their World Tour gross more than $56 million. 😃 Also, now, BLACKPINK currently hold the record for best selling female (not just girl group) K-Pop album by selling more than 1.5 million copies of their The Album, their first full album. 😁
Unluckily, BLACKPINK don't get enough credits for their participation in the songwriting of their songs. This a fact. For example, Jennie admitted that she wrote Stay in one of the behind the scene video that I found on Twitter. It is clip of one of the BLACKPINK reality show on TH-cam. In that clip, Jennie reveal the reason why she felt very emotional whenever they performed Stay live is that she is the songwriter. Jennie literally cried when performing Stay live. I also found out that after they release As If Your Last, they have an interview. During that interview, Lisa admitted that she wrote the rap verse for As If It Is Your Last. She even said that it is longer than she thought it is. This interview was all over the news in South Korea. During an interview, Tushar Apte one of the producer who work on the BLACKPINK's song, Love To Hate Me, reveal that Danny Chung and Lisa write the rap verse for Love To Hate Me together. 😃 This is what Tushar Apte said during his interview,
Question: Was the first draft you submitted instantly approved or did the members share their feedback with you to rework on?
Tushar Apte's answer: We pretty much got it right the first time on this! Which isn’t common at all, but of course Lisa and Danny Chung had to go and write the amazing rap verse that really takes the record to a whole different level!
However, if you look at their credits for their songs such as Love To Hate Me, you won't find their name on the credit list for some songs. If anyone want to see the link for that Jennie's clip and those interviews that I mention earlier, just let me know and I will gladly give you the links for it. 😄

Actually YG follows the way how was songs and albums was made before the digital age where it is crafted carefully, emphasizing on quality and not speed. YG is not in any hurry to make songs just to create contents. Their brand image was so strong that they can afford to take their time.

In KPOP only YG don't follow the calendar they are hard to predict when their artists have comeback they don't follow trend but they usually started new trend the way they dressed,hair colors, mini album s are first done by Bigbang (YG) before they don't usually seen in variety shows but they attend fashion shows plus they are great in live stages ALL YG artists before are just like a threat when they are in music shows other idols are intimidated by their looks & outfit that they are shy to talk to them😁 but it's just stage image they are cute & shy off cam too...

For me, it is so much better to have quality over quantity. In the Netflix Documentary, I think it was Rose´ who said the same thing. It is an excellent marketing strategy as mentioned in this video, further to which the success of BlackPink bares this out. Whoever wrote the script for the video has cleverly refereed to many of BlackPink song titles. You noticed several of them 😀 Thank you for time and effort in making this video. I hope your visit to the dentist goes well. You both are attractive and could easily get presenting work. The Blackpink lady's have professional make artists and an army of stylists, so comparisons are not on an even playing field.

That hiatus strategy isn’t really a thing btw. YG just sucks at promoting, especially multiple groups at on time, so they just focused on other groups with the money BP provided to them🙄 blinks will buy and hype everything blackpink does no matter when it comes and YG knows that and uses for their own benefit.
They keep track of the fandom activities, growth etc on social media. They know damn well what they’re doing.
