A few years ago, about the time when he first got in the UFC. I was attending a local fight event in Daytona. Mike Perry was there in attendance and was signing some autos for the locals. I was double fisting some beers and walked over to say hi. He got mad at me for cutting off some kids in line. The rest of the night, at my seat and out the corner of my eye, I'd catch him looking at me rubbing his hands over his fist like he wanted to BKF me. I nervously laughed about it with my brother. Became a huge fan of his ever since.

Glad to hear they got funding. I remember reading the owner took out loans on his house to fund events. Which is more than most promoters would be willing to risk. That's risking everything. That had to be to be a hard decision. The more options for the fighters the better in my opinion. Congratulations Mike and bkfc for being able to continue on.

There's something so compelling about a guy who was basically a can in the UFC becoming the standard bearer for a new evolution of combat sport. His pain tolerance, aggression, and general lack of F's to give didn't serve him so well in the UFC, but those things set him apart from the competition in BKFC (other than that MVP robbery haha). The Rockhold fight really sums up my point. In the UFC, Rockhold has Perry's number all day. Pretty boy felt his teeth shift in his gums though, towel thrown immediately. A gloved hand does't do that. Rockhold wasn't used to taking that kind of damage from bone on bone contact, Perry couldn't care less what his face looks like, obviously. Nice to see a human pitbull find his lane.
