Tyson's reputation is based on casual fans and hardcore Tyson fans so for him, anything could just be a money grab and it doesn't change much for him. As far as his actual boxing reputation in a fair representation, he can't possibly stand next to the other greats because of how he ended his career. He gets a pass for how amazing of a boxer he was in his teens and early 20's. If anyone wants to know how a badass like that translates into someone who is much older, all they have to do is look at the trailing end of his pro career. I don't see how adding even more years onto that to where he's now almost a senior citizen is going to make him any better. It's all about possibly seeing Jake get knocked out, which no one is against. It would be great... but it's also not like Jake doesn't stand a good chance of just beating on an old Tyson for a while.

I think what makes this different from the Roy Jones Jr. Fight, and some of the nobody's who beat him where he said he's done and doesn't want to disrespect the sport anymore and that his heart isn't in it anymore, the difference is he's training harder than he ever has like when he was younger, and the reason being that Mike knows he has to get in shape and he knows who he's going against.
Mike knows this is probably going to be his final fight, and he wants to go out with a bang, reclaim his name, then probably done with boxing. He wants people to know he's still got it. What's CRAZY AS FUCK is that Mike can be out of shape, not really boxed like when he was younger, BUT he's able to just go from out of shape to Full Beast Mode training at the click of a finger, literally just like that.
.so he barely trained when he was fighting Roy Jones Jr., and even Roy Jones Jr. thought it was going to be easier than it was, but then hugged on Mike al.ost the whole time.
Now compare that to how he's training now, it's not even close, MIKES ABOUT TO GO IN FULL PRIMAL BESST MODE.

Training videos only matter if they're 10, 20, 30 min long. Tyson when he's 80 could still probably look like a killer for 10 seconds at a time. If you can't keep it up for 30 minutes though, it doesn't matter in a boxing match.

That might be true of Tyson out of camp, but not in it. It's still impressive to be sure, but still, its not getting hammered to the face and body. Even as active as Stallone is at an old age, our bone density decreases as we get older and we can't recover from workouts and injury as well.

But Mike Tyson is going to be 58 by the time the fight comes. I agree with the fact that some heavyweight boxers can still remain great in their 30s and late 40s. But if you know the evolution of Mike Tyson, you will agree that he clearly isn't that type of heavyweight to age well.
In his 20s, he was nearly unstoppable, a 100kg beast moving at the speed of a lightweight with a huge power in his punches. He always relied on speed and head movements to compense his short reach (second shortest reach of heavyweight boxing History) and small size. He was only 178 cm and was always facing opponents bigger than him.
But by the time he reached his 30s, he would still try to compense his weakness with his speed but he couldn't do it for long, in his middle 30s, against Danny Williams and Kevin Mcbride, his speed was gone, the Mike Tyson from 80s was already far gone. His saddest fight was against McBride, you could see that he didn't want to box anymore. He only stop at the age 39 while he was washed up and addict to drugs.
He is nearly 60 years old now, he isn't in age to compete in boxing anymore, nobody has fought at that age against a professional boxer. I'm scared for him.

This is so bizarre of a build up. I was at the Danny williams fight 2 decades ago. He looked literally awful. I mean AWFUL. Danny ironed him out in a few rounds. Danny is a great benchmark as he spans the old and next gen eras. So for perspective, Chisora needed a handful of minutes to stop him with ease. He was the same age as Jake is now. I’m not saying Chisora is the same as Jake. But imagine an even younger Danny williams who chisora tore about with ease annihilated Mike . Over twenty years ago….

Ppl are being mislead by Anderson and Jake being relatively competitive. That’s a mistake. A big one. Mike is not Anderson. Silva was fighting a prime Izzy at 45 and holding his own not looking decrepit. Him and Uriah hall went into championship rounds a year later. Anderson relies on being clever and smart movement. Even in his prime when mikes head movement stopped he was knocked out plenty. Anyone saying he still has power implying like he did when he was even 40 is just mental. I’ve even seen ppl say he wasn’t allowed to knock out Roy which is blatantly false - the commission said “shouldn’t” not can’t and was clarified 2 days later that no clause existed given it’s literally impossible to enforce. Mike is in trouble and I don’t relish saying that. It’s delusional to think otherwise as Mike would have to defy medical science. I don’t think he’s capable. But my god would I love to be proven wrong.
His best chance I still think which is actually pretty high imo is before the fight settles while Jake is still afraid of the aura of Tyson. After round 1 that fear will be gone. If Mike just goes out there and adrenaline dumps, while insanely risky, I highly doubt Jake can prepare for that. He’s never been utterly mauled in a nasty punch after the bell, arm hooking, inside war dog fight. Mike has. If he can go and lay it on him , I actually think Mike could win. But if Jake survives and Mike’s gas tank is deleted, it’ll be even worse than if he didn’t try this tactic.
