Birds are sensitive little creatures and how anyone could do any of the thongs you mention, especially hitting? OMG, how could any hit an innocent angel? There is no such thing as "bad". They don't understand the concept of eating furniture or whatever you think is bad as a bad thing...they don't understand money and value of things. Thanks for making such a great video.

Now I know :) My family and I cover the cage at night so our three budgies can go to bed easier because they can't see anything happening outside of the cage. The female one is very calm and eats from my hand, but is kinda aggressive when I don’t have millet for her.
Thank you so much! I'm getting a budgie soon and I needed tips on how to tame it and how to get its trust! This video helped me because I do not wanna lose trust with my budgie thank you!
When I had one bird alone, it trusted me and wanted to be cozy and hang out on my computer screen all day, however when I got another bird. They decided that all humans were dangerous except when we had treats. When the new bird passed away many years later, the original bird went back to her old playful and cozy state. They're my favorite pets ever♡
Good thing that my babies never lost trust on me and the bird in the thumb nail 0:20 looks like a combination of my two parakeets on my profile picture
I have 4 budgies, but I got them when I was not ready to take care of them. (My uncle bought them for me and my sister all of a sudden one day and then decided we would be able to figure out how to take care of them one day, so this vid really helped me realize a few things a bit) For my 4 birdies, they are like couples since there are 2 girls and two boys, both pairs being brought to our home as Boy-Girl dynamic. Sometimes, the couples get in each other’s way, like when one person from the couple birds wants to eat from the hand, another will peck at the other’s feet and head. Me and my sister scold them sometimes by saying, “That’s not nice” or “This is your last warning” and I think I really did loose their trust. After this video, I am fully sure I can’t take care of my budgies properly, but I still love them....what can I do? I’m not a good budgie mother....
the bird grabbing depends on the bird himself, me and my family had a bird that always wanted that (he always walked on our hand and poked our fingers until we closed the hand and the cuddled in it XD) and he never had anything against it if we grabbed him (but we grabbed him slower as in the video shown).
I'm getting a parakeet in about a day, as of tomorrow. I'm trying to do as much research as I possibly can. I just want the bird to have the happiest life possible. Thank you.) :D Update: I got her, I named her Niki. She is the sweetest little thing. She has no black markings, just straight yellow. She is quite tiny but has a huge personality. I have a dusky conure and taking him to the vet for his biannual nail and wing trim is a challenge to say the least. He gets in moods where he doesn't want to step up (especially when he sees the carrier) and I won't go into his cage to get him because they need to be able to feel safe in the cage if you don't want them to get aggressive. So I have to shut the door and physically pick him up, which of course he hates and I often get a bite. It usually takes him a few days to get over his grudge from that, he also pouts around for a full day after getting his nails cut it's pretty humorous to see wings don't bother him but the nails do. There's nothing else I can do he has to go to the vet for his own good and I feel that it's better to have someone else do the stressful work of trimming his nails and feathers so he doesn't associate that with me. I have his wings clipped because the one time I let them grow he was flying all over my small house antagonizing the dog and a few times got caught behind furniture which took me an hour to find him the first time. I also like to take him outside and it goes without saying that it's not a good idea for them to be able to fly when outside.
I wished i watched this earlier. I'm so used to grabbing my bird and now it fears me whenever my hand goes in. When i try to pet it, it would bite me too :( what shd i do to regain my bird's trust?
Thank you, I didn't know that putting a bird in its cage will offend them...and now I'm not going to force feed my new bird as I'm trying to tame it.. This helped
honestly, I think I lost my birds trust, if they even had any in the first place, I remember trying to find gloves, but we didn't have any and my mom wouldn't let me use any towels either and my birds have been outside for 2 hours and I had to go soon and there was also no one to watch over them, so I had to force interaction and grab them.... I grab him alot and because of that he doesn't trust me enough for pats, but he still eats from my hand and loves eating from my hand. Thank you for the advice, I'm a bit rusty with birds so this'll help me, thank you!
I hear a lot of "Don't do this, don't do that." But I don't hear any advice on how to properly deal with issues that may happen. You need examples of proper alternative methods to problems.
Do covering their cages help them calm down also? One night as I was having dinner, my tiels got startled for no reason ( or reasons that I don't know of yet) they started flapping their wings violently and to the point where one of her tail feathers ( which was still growing and has blood in it) just flew out. I've never seen them being this scared, and it wasn't the normal flapping like when they were stretching and exercising either. I covered their cage up and closes the bird room door ( thinking the tv was just too loud). But I heard hissing from both of them when I was covering the cage up. Does this stress them out somehow? Till this day I still don't know why they were that startled.
I have two birds but we didn’t train them instantly, well I did try but I could only get one on my finger but because I tried to train them like ages after we got them it’s really difficult and they run away from me:(
Don't give up it could take months, weeks or years. Is the bird worth it, that's the question. You could also try to get another cage and separate them, and try to bond with them one on one. @@angel66_jh14 And birds would know the difference when you're covering their cage as punishment and when you're doing it so they don't mistake artificial lighting for sunlight, would they?
@@albertchristian1 well for night time it would be a consistent time they probably become use to and understand. Vs punishment is also probably included with yelling and other bad behavior. That's my guess lol
We've had these 2 birds for 5 years and I've tried everything and they won't trust me so I just gave up on them and just ignored them unless they need food or water because they run from me for no reason
i used to hit my dog when i was 7-10 years old because thats how im treated at home and thought it was just _normal_ . adults who hit their pets are fucking awful, but with abused children i think its more or less a gray area; still awful that anyone could be treated like that. abuse is horrible.

So sweet bird.
props to kermit for getting 4 budgies for this video.
I knew it sounded familiar
This channel is the best
Yes
Yip!
We've had these 2 birds for 5 years and I've tried everything and they won't trust me so I just gave up on them and just ignored them unless they need food or water because they run from me for no reason

@@itchimari we do take care of them it's not our fault that they aren't friendly
@@itchimari they could have been abused before we got them and we can't fix those scars so mind ur own business
@@itchimari we've had them for 5 years. I know them and I know they don't like change and doing that could end up with them killed.
Thank you kermit

❤❤❤🐦I have 3 Birds.😊 Love Birds.❤🐦😍😘🍀👋 sweet Video, very, very, nice.😊❤
I feel bad because this guy did all of this and broke his birds trust so he could tell us how not too.
What a beautiful bird 😎
It’s honestly so sad we live in a society that people HIT they’re pets.
i used to hit my dog when i was 7-10 years old because thats how im treated at home and thought it was just _normal_ . adults who hit their pets are fucking awful, but with abused children i think its more or less a gray area; still awful that anyone could be treated like that. abuse is horrible.
Great tutorial 👍
Once my bird was chewing on a wire and I screamed in fear :(
Did you keep his trust?
@@parkeralan19 I lost some of it but I gained it back :)
@@landofweird6426 good :) seems to be the good thing about burbs. They may be easy to upset but if your willing to work for their trust then it's possible to earn back!
Excellent info...thank you x
