Last week, I haven't drank for 3 days straight, for some reason. My body had severe headaches and I couldn't sleep. I tried drinking a large water bottle; and chugged it all in half a minute. I drank an average of 5 more bottles of that size at once over the course of about a week, until I started to feel pain again. I thought it was because I didn't drink enough water, so I drank another 3. Out of interest, I googled about drinking too much water, and found this video. All the symptoms, except vomiting, appeared to my, which is why I wasn't very suspicious. Halfway through I got SO shaky and scared that I couldn't watch a single second more. I ran to my nearby hospital, where I spent my next day at. Seriously, I don't know what I would've done if it wasn't for this video. And I don't even know why I'm sharing this, but I guess getting this off my chest makes me a bit relived. I feel like an idiot, though.
I'm polycythemic, which means my blood is very thick and I'm also hyperhidrosic, which means I sweat alot. I'm about 55kg and I drink about 3-4 liters of water a day.

I think it depends on the individual and your physical activity levels/needs. I weight over 200lbs, athletic/at gym daily, drink a gallon (3.6ish liters I think) and I go to the bathroom 6-8 times a day.

i saw a youtube video about a man who has a condition that makes him need to drink at least 20 liters of water every day, or else he'll die from dehydration. he can go about 1 and a half to 2 hours without drinking water.
Wtf? The kidneys can only filter 1 liter an hour? I thought my biology teacher said 200 liters goes through the kidneys a day and most of it goes back to in your body and 1.5 liters will be peed away.. Did my teachers lie to me or did this show misinformes us??

I think the perfect amount to maximize your health is 1 gallon per day. Here's what I do: As soon as you wake up in the morning, drink like 2 full glasses of water. It should take all day to drink a gallon of water (given normal circumstances). If you work outside in the heat, or perform a lot of cardio activities then you might require more than a gallon. But, for the average person 1 gallon is enough.
