I TOTALLY TOTALLY agree with RPM being SUPER DARK. Hands down, RPM was one of my favorite seasons with its dark tones and superb character backstories.
Mateo, rpm had lighthearted moments and the other disney seasons had pretty dark moments.

1. RPM (origins of basically every main character, cancelled episode Black Ranger, almost whole humanity gone, Doctor K created Venjix which is also great plot twist and much more)
2. Time Force (death of Alex, Ranzik's origins, finale which almost could happen)
3. In Space (Andros kills Zordon, Astronema's origins)
I agree. Venjix was also one of the best villains in the franchise. He was cold and merciless.

THATNEGUS KING I’m working on a fan fiction that’s basically a rewrite of Power Rangers where Lord Drakkon is his own character not an evil version of Tommy Oliver in my fan fiction the main villain is Evox (Spoiler Alert)
The alternate identity of Venjix from Beast Morphers however the two are separate beings in my fanfic also my version of Lord Drakkon sells the foot soldiers and monsters to Evox’s army (every villain in power rangers) and sometimes betrays them if they don’t pay him (similar to Broodwing)
Before watching rpm: I'm so excited to watch the rangers race in cars.
After watching the first episode: Shit just got real.
And RPM was resolved in Beast Morphers.

Lord Zedd's origin should be in the video. He was horribly disfigured by the Zeo Crystal simply because it reacted to the fact that his soul is pure evil.

Totally agree. Seriously, there was so many dark moments on RPM that they could create their own list: destruction of world, heroes lost, team's mentor created the big bad, it's not the end, backstory of almost every main character (Teneya, Scott, Doctor K, Dillon...).
plus considering the fact that the last of humanity lives in a tiny domed city, meaning billions of people died.
and lets not even get into the cancelled final episode, RPM would've been 10 times darker had the final episode "Ranger black" been made. but disney found it disturbing and wouldn't allow it.

the show runner blew the ENTIRE budget at the half way point and got him fired it was as good as time force and it was to be the series finale but disney said lets make jungle fury
You can tell that JDF always has fun playing a ranger by how many times he comes back. That or it’s because he knows Tommy is a very iconic Ranger.
Strange how Alex exploded but his body remains intact when he died on the arms of Jen.
The suit shielded him from the blast so he wasn't instantly incinerated. I thought Jen explained it to Wes shortly thereafter about how protective the Time Force suits actually are.

In the 25th Anniversary Comics, there’s a story where Karone is put on trial for her crimes as Astronema. Doggie reveals she was the one who basically sent Gruumm to Sirius
Mirloc episode of SPD. That shit got DARK with Sky.

LEANBOW.. lead an attack against The Master Dark forces.. he singledly broke through enemy lines and gave up his life to keep the Dark Forces from tsking over the Magic relam as they sealed the door behind him.. Leanbow continued fighting them all by himself despite being outnumbered.. The Master was very impressed with Leanbow ability.. The Master used his power to changed Leanbow into Koragg but didnt take away Leanbow sense of justice, loyality and honour as he stored it into Koragg.. a loyal servant of The Master.. Korrag changed back into Leanbow when Korrag saved the Power Rangers from a virius during their one on one battle as Koragg obsorb it as The Rangers got hit from behind by Lecquai.. Koragg started remembering Leanbow memories of Nick and Udonna.. Koragg turned back into Leanbow as he saved Udonna from dieing
My heart broke for Sky when I watched that as a kid.
If we're talking about "dark" for the Master Org choice I would of just went with his backstory of killing Cole's parents over his destruction of the Wild Zords. Yes, it wasn't as grand in scope as destroying the Wild Zords and using fictional plant vines from his hands was a silly way to depict the act of killing Cole's parents, but his motivation shown on screen for wanting to kill them and following through with the act of those deaths: the personal nature with the jealousy, contempt and vitriol with the revenge depicted in that episode was so... palpable. That wasn't fictional/fantasy world "I'm a super-villain taking over the world" dark. That was real world "I'm a sociopath who should be on death row because I'm a murderer" dark.
Tommy's Green Candle end, flatly losing to Rita and being depowered, was a huge one for me.
Also, Skye's memory of his Dad in SPD. This tragic backstory, putting him through so much, and then when it reduces him to tears, his tears allow the mirror monster to escape prison as well, for a villain win on top of an already brutal moment.
hey at least Tommy lived, in super sentai the Dragonranger didn't live at the end, AND THEY WERE PLANNING TO DO THE SAME WITH TOMMY!!!
the magna defender arc needed to be here. a child is killed in front of his father on a dying planet. the magna defender was willing to kill without remorse (villlains and civilians alike). he sacrificed himself to save the city. why didnt it make the list?

In all my years as a Power Rangers fan, those were definitely the darkest moments were it seems and felt like that all seems lost. But no matter how hard they've been pushed, the Power Rangers always push back. Because they possess a power that no villain can destroy no matter how powerful they are. That power is HOPE!

I mean from the opening scene it already beats out all the other PR seasons for the darkness part bc billions dead with an “immortal” virus taking control of the world, people taken as experiments, the corrupt government, everything is just YESSS my favorite season
The thing that makes Kendrix's death even worse is the reason for it - her actress had to leave to undergo cancer treatment.

The Destruction of the Wild Zords should've been a lot higher. The zords weren't just weapons or robots, they were living creatures.

Not bad choices overall. Some other moments worth considering:
The End of Time: The finale of Power Rangers Time Force is pretty dark. Fraxx has his humanity purged and is killed, Wes fights desperate and hopeless battle out-maned and according to Alex perishes saving the future, Ransik casually walks through the Time Force Rangers, Eric is shot and nearly killed.
Rangers Defeated: Say what you will about Turbo as a whole, the finale for Turbo was incredibly dark as the Rangers actually lose. Divatox's forces destroy the Power Chamber and the Rangers are de-powered. As much as I was disappointed as a kid by Turbo, the finale was excellent as you never believed that a series would end with the Rangers defeated.
Mike's Death: Yes, he comes back but still when you saw Mike fall into the chasm near the beginning of Lost Galaxy you were definitely in shock. Heck the entire intro for Lost Galaxy was pretty dark what with all the people getting turned to stone.
A certain moment in Power Rangers Hyperforce: This was a RPG experience supported by Saban and featured on HyperRPG that is a canon continuation of the story of Power Rangers Time Force. Something happens to a certain main character and it is incredibly shocking. I do not want to spoil it for those who may not be familiar with this slightly more obscure chapter in Power Rangers history.
The tragedy of Zenaku: The story behind how Merrik became Zenaku in Wild Force is pretty tragic. He used the powers of Zenaku to help defeat Master Org but became possessed by the power and he was forced to be sealed away to prevent himself for destroying those he loved.

Glad Hyper Force wasn't part of this, the boom comics character shouldn't have been included either.because it feels out of place since 9/10 scenes are from the show.

And according to TV Tropes Lost Galaxy has the highest body count of any season and even featured the first Power Ranger killed in action.

Zordon's sacrifice is truly a dark moment in the series as he was a wise and just sage who not only helped the rangers from time to time but the entire series as a whole believe or not. Thanks to the popularity of In Space the series ended up continuing so Zordon saved both the universe and the franchise from cancellation.
What about the ending of Power Rangers Turbo? I mean, that was the bleakest finale in PR history. The Rangers lost all their zords, their leader was forced to leave them, Divatox launched an all attack on their Power Chamber, resulting in the destruction of said chamber and the Rangers losing their powers, and the UAOE was preparing their assault on the universe. How something like that doesn't even get an honorable mention is beyond me.
Probably just because it was Divatox and not a well-written and competent villain.
I'd say MMPR was more bleak because it literally ended with the Rangers watching helplessly as the Command Centre blew up in front of their eyes. No "To Be Continued" or anything... Whereas Turbo ended with that glimmer of hope with the Rangers blasting off into space. You knew that the story legit wasn't over, especially with the episode ending with "To Be Continued... Next Season: Power Rangers in Space"

Yeah RPM has been split by fans forever but it had a lot of good and dark moments. Doc K being one of the saddest. She was taken at a young age from her family forced to do government work and lead the world to the end. Only to spend her time trying to fix her mistake that lead to the almost exticton of the humans including her only 2 friends as she thought

I definitely agree with the In Space, Lost Galaxy and Time Force choices (as they were my favorite seasons of the First Saban Era) BUT RPM as a whole? I 100% agree as it is more darker than In Space, Lost Galaxy and Time Force and it’s felt more like Terminator than Power Rangers
You forgot how Karone became Astronema.
In Time Force, Wes and Eric were outnumbered severely and were fighting alone to save the planet. They literally died but the future Rangers returned to the past to save them. That should be on here

bifa I think it was 'The a ends of Time'. It's epic, it's basically them trying to survive on their own to protect the planet by themselves, while the planet is being taken over. At the end Eric almost dies and gives Wes his morpher, then Wes takes on an army of 'puddies' by himself. And in the future the Rangers learn that Wes and Eric died because they were so outnumbered.

Eric was actually supposed to die in the finale like his Sentai counterpart (same with Tommy) but the executives decided against it at the last minute. Ironically if they had he never would have met Taylor, which is one of the fandom's biggest ships.

All of RPM lol..Marcus Truman and the Butler's deaths were pretty grim
balance that out with the greatest line ever delivered in the franchise when Tenaya was grilling the blue ranger about what made him so special: "I'M SCOTTISH!!!"

It’s clear to say in honor of their 25th Anniversary, we’re bound to see more Power Ranger videos based on storylines, characters, moments and members of each team not to mention a lot of us are still waiting for Top 10 videos on the rangers in Green, Yellow, Black, Silver and White.
Wes, Kat, and Tommy are coming to Super Ninja Steel the first episode since it's summer hiatus in late August, so it's basically the 25th anniversary episode.
RPM is the best season of power rangers of all and time. Til this day, I would still be cool with it being the series finale
For me RPM was the real end. I mean every season after them wasn't good but was REALLY bad - especially what they did with "Super Megaforce" (if anything - super wasted).
Dino Charge wasn't that bad, and Beast Morphers is truly awesome.

rpm was just a great tv show , didnt even feel like power rangers sometimes , and it wasnt even set out to be that good hell they planned on stopping after it tbh
This isn't even mentioning the fact that the current comics, most notably the Shattered Grid arc, is entirely based on Lord Drakkon murdering Tommy, the entire Time Force team, and various other rangers across history in order to become a Ranger God.
Brainwashed Kim into being his personal servant too.
Everytime I hear more about Lord Drakkon, the more he sounds like an evil version of Kamen Rider Decade except without the ability to take different ranger forms
If you watch Lord Drakkon's appearance within Hyperforce's Shattered Grid episodes it gets a lot darker than even the comics show. Having one of Finster 5's monsters suicide bomb a prison by self-destructing while giant and killing dozens upon dozens of people, decapitating a soldier, then amputating one of the Hyperforce Ranger's arms causing them to almost die from blood loss.
The comics are in their own universe and kind of a modern day reboot of the series.
Devin Johnson Two timelines; one where Tommy joined the rangers after Rita's spell was broken and one where he went back to Rita and became Lord Drakkon. He used time travel, dimension-jumping nonsense to kill a different version of himself.
And it is that edge and spectacular story telling that every series needs.

Again fan-favorite Sentai adaptions like Lost Galaxy, Time Force, and RPM prove you can dark topics as the main themes of episodes or in RPM's case an entire adaption and still be good. And the next Sentai season to get an adaption Ryusoulger actually touches on the topic of legally good vs. morally good due to the early rivalry between Red Ranger Koh, and Black Ranger Tama due to Tama's willingness to murder humans possessed by Minosaurs along with the fact he'd actually did kill humans possessed by Minosaurs during the period of time before him and the Green Ranger met up with Koh and the other rangers. So why does most PR fans say it's impossible for Lupinranger vs. Pataranger which is to an extent a dark season and has as pretty much the as the main theme of the season the topic of morally right vs. legally right to get adapted.

Power Rangers RPM was definitely the darkest power rangers series as a whole and one of my favorites from the power rangers franchise. I mean a lot of power ranger series' had dark moments bur RPM was dark completely as a whole and I totally loved it.
I definitely remember the Time Force premier being so memorable and I remember very clearly that a Power Ranger dying

Y'all forgot when the Lightspeed Rescue finale when the Batlings used the Megazord to destroy the aqua-base and destoryed a tower full of people inside so pretty much they killed a fleet of innocent people as they are stuck in a part of military breathe begging for life as they drown
Those were definitely some tear shedding moment indeed, making it all the more exciting to watch and in some cases still get a bit of good ending.

Oh I loved the sentai version of RPM I was only 5 when I watched it but I still remember it even when it’s been a decade..and that’s why I didn’t watch RPM cuz i heard it was so dark but I’m gonna give it a chance and watch it lol

I do like the drama in the scene with Captain Mitchell being forced to deal with Diabolico because he’s hanging off a cliff holding his daughter while his son hangs from his legs, but the dialogue of the scene has always just been kind of hilarious to me.
Captain: “HELP! SOMEONE HELP US!”
Diaboloco appears: “I can help you.”
Captain: “GO AWAY!”
RPM is my favorite out of all ❤️❤️
aytida prime mine is Mighty Morphin for Nostalgia reasons, plus I like the music a lot, but you're right, RPM is a really good season. I think if I was going to go with the best overall, just from writing, story, acting Etc, I would either go with RPM or Time Force.
Mine is Wild Force mostly because of nostalgia and the zords.

Alex's death hit hard as a kid especially for it being the first episode of Time Force. You know it's real when even your parents are watching it with you every week

The Magna Defenders son dying by that one main monster in Lost Galaxy was pretty dark as well cuz it was the first time a kid died in the show.

Lost galaxy was the best season
Adey Kalina I wouldn't go that far, but I don't get why a lot of people seem to think it's a bad season.
But you got to put it behind in Space.
When it aired, I didn't like it much, but there are MUCH worse seasons. It had a hard act to follow after Space and the natural/mystic Sentai footage clashed hard with the more space themed US direction.
