Holy shit, his mother’s words at the end are some of the most moving, tragic, heartbreaking I have ever heard in my life. She literally brought tears to my eyes.
Mine too. Heart wrenching. She was truly a woman of faith and her faith did not fail her. Sadly, the police and Fish and Game did fail her though. Denise used the fact that Brian had strayed away from Christianity as the reason she was divorcing him but in reality, she was never a Christian, it seems. She enjoyed presenting herself a certain way which likely made her feel morally superior and allowed her to blend in with her community but she was actually a wolf in sheep's clothes the whole time. Cheating on her husband with his best friend and then scheming and plotting his murder in order to maintain her image and status in the community and to get her hands on that $2.5 million life insurance policy. She's very lucky she finally got caught because if she hadn't, I really think it would've been a tough go for her in the next life. Now she's paying for what she has done and over the next several decades as she sits in her prison cell, she'll have plenty of time to truly repent and to actually come to Christ rather than using His name in vain to exalt herself and deceive others. It's better to pay the price in this life than to store up wrath and judgement in the next one. Christ already paid the price though so true repentance and faith is all that is necessary. For Christ Himself even said, "You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. Inge Anderson it’s so sad that there are people so ready to rob others of lives over money and also the fact that it was his best friend and wife... terrible
It's disturbingly common. Killers will object to something far more minor (like family eliminators who wanted to "spare" their families from poverty), but find it totally okay to kill someone. It's just them trying to justify their own sick selfishness.

I read a while ago that Denise was mad at the Mom for continuing to search for Mike & advocate for reopening his investigation, so she restricted her visitation with the baby. It wasn’t enough that she killed the woman’s son, she took her only grandbaby away from her, too. So, she couldn’t even find comfort in the company of Mike’s daughter all these yrs. What an evil, petty, cruel woman! She got exactly what she deserved. I hope Mike’s Mom & daughter are able to come together & find peace with each other. RIP Mike🕊.
"And tell me I didn't do things the right way. There is no manual to tell a mother what to do when her child goes missing." Everything about her statement broke my heart. From her mockery and dismissal to her seeing her son in her nightmares. Just absolute grief and sorrow. My heart breaks with hers.

There's something about the way she kept her hair in pigtails. Thinking about her waking up every day, putting her pigtails in and fighting her son. Powerful
That Mom is such a beautiful strong soul. What an amazing human being. Never once did she falter. She kept pushing until the truth came out. She is the true hero of this heart breaking story.
This man's mother has been shown on other crime channels covering this story too . She is an amazing woman .........fragile as a doll but tough like steel .
The mothers closing statement pulled on my heart strings when she said "there's no manual for when you lose your child". I pray she finds peace one day.
The mothers statement choked me. I wish she got a huge settlement from the state for what those police officers put her through. To laugh and mock a elderly woman who is heartbroken over her missing child is so cruel and senseless. They should all be let go and find new police who have empathy and more than 2 brain cells.
I agree, but she doesn't seem like the type who cares about money ... justice and a proper burial were probably the only things she wanted (sad to say that the only thing a mom wants is to bury her son, but yeah).
I just really dont believe the cops were laughing at her. She might have felt slighted at the time and she has every right too but I just feel like blatantly laughing at her is a stretch.
Mike's mother was a lot smarter than the police. It sounds like she came up with the reasons why the whole thing didn't make sense, but no one paid attention to her. The whole thing is so sad. Denise and Brian are pure evil.
She probably convinced herself that it was as she claimed and she’d sold it as such for so long it became truth to her. Also, she thought that puddy was better than it was and he wouldn’t talk.
I was local when this happened and Mike's mom just broke everyone's collective heart. I'm so so glad that she finally got answers and that Mike finally got justice.
AshleyNT Fitness she never knew her father and ended up with all the money... I doubt she would think it’s as “messed up” as everyone is making it out to be

@@clairerose6907 It's heartbreaking. No words to describe. I wish there was a way to make her feel better, punish the authorities that ridiculed her. It is heartbreaking, but also I'm glad she got to say in court that they ridiculed her. Mermaid Makes What a beautiful thought. This poor mama has been tormented for too long. And you’re right, Mike was there with her through it all, giving her the strength to get through it. Even if it felt like she couldn’t go on another day. She did. And she made it to the day where Mike’s death was finally vindicated and the perpetrators were FINALLY caught and punished. And it was all due to his mother fighting for years to uncover the truth. She never gave up. What a good mother. ❤️
I tucked this one into my "watch later" folder for a long time, and after watching it tonight, it was worth the wait. I found Mike's mother's testimony about the complacency of public servants, and especially about her imagining what her son's last thoughts were, some of the most powerful first person accounts you've ever documented on your videos. Excellent compilation and presentation. There are many imitators, but only one "That Chapter."
I cried when I heard Cheryl's speech. I feel the ones who ridiculed her and called her crazy, should be held accountable in some way too. Cant even begin to imagine the pain she went through and is going through.
While it is wrong and i dont condone what was done to her,What you are saying is one if not the most idiotic things ive ever read. Good thing your not a judge or a lawmaker
Who is to say they felt proud of this moment when the truth came out. Easy to judge in hindsight but if I were that chief in charge then, I'd be heart broken knowing I failed the people.
Juan S he didn’t say anything about what he thought it should be, just the very vague “held accountable”. if everything that women said is true, about it being impossible alligators could’ve eaten him and them laughing at her and calling her crazy then i agree they should be held accountable in some way even if it’s minor. don’t be so hyperbolic.
She was amazing piecing together those 4 pertinent facts about the location of the boat after the storm, how it was full of gas, that gaters don't eat in the winter ECT. Because I forgot the 4th point.
My mother always would know without even actually knowing… that I did something wrong, was in trouble or needed help. She always said “There is nothing stronger than a mother’s love and intuition”. This case is a prime example of that. Good on this beautiful mom to never give up!
Cheryl, Mike’s awesome mother never gave up. I followed this case and when I learned of his wife’s arrest and Brian’s confession became so emotional, I had to pull my car to the side of the road. I was so happy that it all came out while Cheryl was still alive. I will never forget her and her cute ponytails. She is the type of person and mother, that anyone should strive to be. Rest in piece Mike, and mamma Cheryl. We love you sweet Cheryl ❤️
I wanted to mention that I respect the Judge who presided over this case very much. I've watched several trials in his courtroom. Horrific case. Horrible tragedy in all aspects.
That poor guy. Betrayed like that by his best mate and wife. I can't imagine his last moments on earth. So heartbreaking... Horrible pair of narcissists!😡i hope they rot.
Imagine having your best friend betray you and in your final moments before your killed all the pieces start fitting together and you realize what had been happening for years. He had suspicion that his wife was having an affair but I doubt he believed it was his best friend. Until he was in the water.

@chris kibodeauxShe said in this video herself, that she was ridiculed for not believing that her son drowned and got eaten by alligators. Why argue over things like this?
@chris kibodeaux You’re saying that just because she said it that it doesn’t make it true, at the same time saying that it didn’t happen because you said so. Makes sense. You’re dense.
That Mama knew her son had met with evil. Her statement was heartbreaking and powerful. When she talked about how they made her feel crazy and wrong for what she was trying to do, my eyes welled up Her describing how she imagined her son felt in his last moments just about broke me because it obviously haunts her as it would any parent. I'm glad she got to see justice for her son and I hope she's able to move forward now 💔🥀
Man, the mother’s statement had me crying. Hearing Brian describe how he drove around him in circles...the image is horrifying. His “best friend” taunting him. I’m so glad the mother got justice she deserved.
I think him circling Mike was more to assess the situation, think about what to do next (his original plan had just failed), prepare/load his gun, and to work his way closer to him, since some motor boats can't turn on a dime. But still, horrifying image, and the mother's impact statement was absolutely heartbreaking.
I think because she got away with it for so long, that she thought she'd never get caught. Plus obviously he loved her a lot, she didn't thing he'd snitch on her. You were wrong "lady". Enjoy prison!!
@Kitten Lyric You seem to be really adamant with your view as you've replied the same thing to multiple comments now. You think this somehow has to do with sex of the person or something. Without him, there would have been no justice at all. They had to offer him immunity because that was the only thing that would get him to give up the location of the body. It sucks, but I'd rather him get immunity so Mike's mom and loved ones can get closure. Also so that snake of a wife of his to get punished as well. Karma will come to Brian in the end.
It was the other way round. _He_ thought _she_ would tell on him after the divorce, and he was the killer, so he made a deal to blab first. The 'complete immunity' deal he got was just too good for premeditated murder and conspiracy - and it seemed like he had made plans to kill her too.
@@maltinamaltina2665 True, but without that, without a body, it would have been hard to get him or her. They knew they already had him for 20 on kidnapping. To get her, to them it was better than not.
@@gomahklawm4446 This is clear. Especially from the point of view of the prosecutors. Family members though may well have been dissatisfied with Winchester not being charged at all for blasting Mike Williams in the face with a shotgun. Truly getting away with murder. How proud her parents must be that she didn't divorce her husband. Thanks for mentioning the victim himself. People here only talk about the mother. Almost seems like they don't care about that poor guy... Any way. Strong mom, poor guy...
Margaret Warwick ...ditto on above and for mentioning the daughter, the other victim. I would go easy on the other commenters though as I think the mother’s pain is so spoken, palpable, and easy to empathize with that it does crowd out the other victims who are silent.

She is far from being "poor" with millions inheritance in the bank. There's a recent photo of her for some beauty pageant and she looks a lot like her mother. From what her grandmother was saying since very young she grew up not knowing her father's side of family. By all accounts she grew up with love and care from her mother and stepfather and has had an effluent life. She would not have any memory of her father since she was a baby then. If you want to feel sorry for someone, Mike never got to be around his child, never got to live a full life and how his family grieved for him. I also feel for Brian, how he must have been tormented by the guilt that eventually led to the story came to light.
His mother was incredible, I hope she finds some peace after the truth finally came out. Didn't want to divorce because of reputation? BS! It was all about the money.

It's disturbingly common. Killers will object to something far more minor (like family eliminators who wanted to "spare" their families from poverty), but find it totally okay to kill someone. It's just them trying to justify their own sick selfishness.
the value of other people’s lives is purely subjective on how their existence benefits them. Sickening.

RIP Mike🕊.

We're talking abut an idiot who thinks that murder is better than divorce. Doesn't look like she's good at making judgement calls.
She probably convinced herself that it was as she claimed and she’d sold it as such for so long it became truth to her. Also, she thought that puddy was better than it was and he wouldn’t talk.

Always Cain the bad guy, Cain the villain. But what about Abel? Sucking up to God, showing off with his big, shiny sacrifices, sneering, always sneering Abel, queering Cain's pitch with the boss.
Grima Wormtongue, whispering poison in Denethor's ear. What? I'm just trying to add a different perspective on some old, old shit that may or may not have gone down. A laawng ass time ago.
His mother's statement at the end is the first time I've cried over one of these videos. It was absolutely soul crushing. I'm glad after almost 2 decades, she saw some form of justice served.
murder: just fine.
divorce: NO WAY JOSE!
It is all about money
She wanted to divorse the killer, but did not want to divorce the victim. I would say it had something to do with the kids too.
Yeah, I dont really grasp that concept... my husband just got busted having an affair, Im pissed, however, I would never kill him.... smh
@@ashleighcoffey8963 he needs a psychological evaluation, for having an affair, while having such a beautiful wife.
@@themindofjonathan3686 You my good sir, have just made my day, and made me smile. Thank you, Ive not smiled in a long time. 😊
The Mother's speech made me cry like a little girl.. there was so much hurt and pain in her voice. 😢
I'm glad she finally got closure. She knew in her heart that her child was harmed. The power of a mother's love.
I can't believe how badly she was treated by Fish and Game and the police. Even if they thought she was crazy, they never should have said it to her or treated her with contempt.
@@zarasbazaar exactly. She was in so much anguish from not knowing what happened to her child. They could've been nice and comforting to her.
Me too, I feel for all his family, the misjustice for so long and the truth really fucking sucked evil stupid people
Your profile pic made me cry its scary
You don't really need enemies when you've got a friend like that.
friend=girlfriend
And a wife.
the poor guy was surrounded by snakes
That’s a good Mama. RIP Mike- from a single mom who thinks guys like you are one in a million 😉🙏🇨🇦
His mom. My heart is absolutely broken for her. I cant imagine losing one of my children, and more so I can't imagine losing my child in such a horrible way. Thats a pain beyond the comprehension from anything I've experienced. His mother never gave up, and fought to find justice for her son. I hope she can began to heal now that everyone knows what really happened to her child and those responsible are being held accountable. She has endured so much for so long. God, I just want to give her a hug.
Everyone needs a mother and a friend who is so tenacious. What a saint.
I feel so bad for him. His "friend" throws him in the water, watches him panic and then kills him. I can't even imagine. I cried when his mom spoke
Listening to the mother talk about losing her son was especially hard in this video and heartbreaking. A mother knows things no other people will ever know, and I hope she can live with some peace knowing what happened to her son. ❤️🙏🏼
Gosh I’m so desensitized to true crime cases.... but this one genuinely breaks my heart. 💔 Mike seemed like the greatest guy.
Same here.
True :(
Yeah when he wasn't slaughtering innocent ducks.
No wonder. Look at the mother that raised him.
@@lorimiller4301 Found the vegan idiot.
Mother Williams's final note hits like a hammer, every time.
I think I lost my own body weight in tears listening to the mothers statement at the end.
That truly heartbroken, sweet old lady, haunted whenever she closes her eyes, by the thought that she wasn't there to protect her baby.
Those two didn't just murder a man, they sentenced a mother to a lifetime of the worst pain and sorrow imaginable.
I need to cuddle my cat now.
Yeah seriously
I've watched almost every That Chapter video. This is the only one that has ever made me cry. That poor momma. I'll never unhear her broken heart.
Hearing Mike’s mother’s testimony broke my heart. He sounded like a good man, raised well by a loving mother. I hope she’s found some peace now Mike’s got justice.
I doubt she found peace.
As do I.. that speech tore my heart out.. tough lady though to stick with it so long..
His Mum. His beautiful, true, real, loving, honourable, human mother. Damn you bastards!
I started getting chills and tears in my eyes when the mother was talking about how her son's death has haunted her for so long. My heart goes out to her. I wish those police officers took her seriously, I hope they got some form of karma for treating her like she was crazy.
OMG, Mikes mothers speech was so captivating and heart rendering... What a strong woman and I hope she gets the peace she deserves.
That poor mother.
I have something in my eye. Both eyes.
God honestly that hurt to listen to. You could tell that he was everything to her. Awful.
I couldn’t help myself from crying. That poor woman just wanted help, and she was right all along.
heartbreaking listening to her speak :(
Her statement at the end was really, really hard to listen to. Heartbreaking.
