April 5, 2010 - Marlins vs Mets (Opening Day)

It's Opening Day at Citi Field as the Mets kick off the 2010 campaign on an unseasonably warm April afternoon in Queens in front of 41,245. Jason Bay makes his Mets debut going 2 for 4 with a triple and David Wright homers for the second straight home opener. Johan Santana gives the Mets 6 solid innings, surrendering 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 5.
Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling on the call. Gary perfectly describes the fans' reaction to the ceremonial introductions as "a new Mets team, met by a decidedly weary reception from a crowd ready to be convinced that 2010 will not be a carbon-copy of of 2009". The Mets would finish in 4th place for the second straight season.

Do you have the SNY broadcast of NYM @ NYY 6/12/09, the “Castillo drops the ball” Subway Series game? Clips from SNY’s coverage are few and far in between. It’s mostly the YES broadcast here on YT.

I had a computer with a video capture card. If I wanted to save the game, I would burn it to DVD (yes we had to do that back in the day hard drives were small). So when I say I didn’t save it, I just mean I didn’t put it on a DVD the next day. All the games I’m posting are in boxes on DVD (some are deteriorating too). Ugh, I’m old LOL
