- 7/27/22: The Mets defeated the New York Yankees for the second straight day behind a stellar pitching outing by Max Scherzer, who went seven scoreless innings. Starling Marte provided the game winning RBI in the bottom of the ninth after Eduardo Escobar led off the inning with a double.

Pete has become a pretty good hitter. Has been floating around in the .280s most of the season but is still hitting homeruns, driving in runs and is just 11 homeruns and 10 rbi away from last years totals. At only 27 hes going to get better and has his best years ahead of him.

Marte was a great pick up for the Mets, he's just a great all around player that should be a All Star this year.

Congratulations to the Mets. Im a Yankees fan. Once we lost the 1st game with Monty, no way we could compete against Scherzer starting German. (even tho he kinda played well). Onto the next one.
I wasn't crazy about vogelbach, but he gets the pitch count up for the opposing pitcher, dudes calm and collected at the plate, loving the big boy.

Mets could easily have a better record than the Yankees if it weren't for the anemic offense in 1-0 2-1 losses, blown games by Lugo and double sweeps by the Astros and two series losses to SD.
Scherzer deserved that victory the way he pitched. Too bad Peterson blew it for him. LGM
