I love this movie. I looked it up on Google and Barbra Luddy who plays Lady died in Los Angeles, California, in 1979 age 70 from lung cancer. Also the ones that play Tramp and Jock, Trusty, Aunt Sarah & others are also deceased. That's sad.
The movie was made in the 50s, dogs weren't spoiled as much back then. I think it's heartwarming and lovely. Besides, in the end they're all friends again.
O.k. let me put it this way. You didn't have a childhood , if you didn't see this film ONCE when you were little. It is such a classic that never ages.

To assist with lockdown we got Disney +. Last nights movie was Lady and the Tramp. It is a 1955 American animated musical romance film produced by Walt Disney and released by Buena Vista Film Distribution.PLOT: On Christmas evening in the year 1909, in a quaint Midwestern town. Jim Dear gives his wife Darling a wee cocker puppy they name her Lady. Lady has the run of the house . The next door neighbours dogs are Scottish terrier named Jock, and a bloodhound named Trusty. Meanwhile, across town, a stray mutt named Tramp lives on his own, dining on scraps from Tony's Italian restaurant and protecting his fellow strays Peg (a Pekingese) and Bull (a bulldog) from the local dogcatcher. One day, Lady is upset after her owners begin treating her rather coldly. Jock and Trusty visit her and determine that their change in behavior is due to Darling expecting a wean. While Jock and Trusty try to explain what a wean is, Tramp interrupts the conversation and offers his own thoughts on the matter, making Jock and Trusty take an immediate dislike to the stray and order him out of the yard. The narrator sounds so happy, despite the images of these tearful dogs. And it kind of feels like he's rubbing it in the dog's faces. Like when you're REALLY hungry, and someone nearby is eating one of your favorite foods that smells delicious, and they keep rambling about how tasty and good it is. Poor dogs. :(

Lady isn't pretentious, think she's tormented for strange reasons, doesn't have a monotone voice and doesn't intentionally throw herself in harms way for any reason at all, and when tramp comes around to see her she stands up for herself and turns him away because she thinks he is bad for her. Also tramp doesn't think he's a monster or intentionally turn her away for vague reasons.
This movie made me sick! :( I would never treat my pet like crap and call him/her "that dog" just because I was having a baby! You don't treat a family member badly just because a new family member is about to join the family. Love the love story part of it but if they are going to treat Lady that way then they probably shouldn't be aloud to have pets.
i understand, the part where "old rusty" was brought in to a room presumably to be put to sleep was kinda upsetting. i Wonder what that sound that came just when the door locked was (shivers)

the 50's in America was called the happy times. because of the American economy was strong. everything was cheap, everything was reasonable. everything can be afforded, and everything made sense. today is just everything is too complex.
