- This project uses handspun yarn and an old gradient yarn from my stash, turned into a scarf on the Ashford 40cm Rigid Heddle loom - peep the visits from Theo, my ever-present helper!

This is beautiful! And also dangerous 😂 I do NOT need another hobby, but oh my goodness this is such a wonderful combination of beautiful and useful and satisfying in both the process and end result! Thank you for sharing!
I feel the exact same way!! I have been shopping for a pashmina but why buy one for $40 when I can spend 3 days and $400 weaving one? Resist the urge, resist the urge…
@@bonnie1303But surely it will have paid for itself when you’ve made a couple of dozen pashminas for wardrobe? 😂
I recently returned to sewing (clothing) after many decades and am finding it very satisfying. TH-cam has been a great help with stuff I've forgotten. But just yesterday I was asking myself why I hadn't seen any videos about spinning, dyeing and weaving. I own a 40" floor loom (It folds so it doesn't take up too much space) and a spinning wheel that I haven't used in even longer.
Maybe next year! (Sigh)
Your scarf is absolutely gorgeous! Well done and thanks for sharing this with me
It's an old tradition in Scotland. I hope you continue help keep it going no matter where you are in the world.
Oh, it's beautiful! well done 👍
Oooh, weaving is addicting! I jumped in the deep end when i started, got myself a floor loom right off😅
Oh I’m jealous! I wish I had that much space- hopefully someday!!
It always amazes me when i see artist go through so much details to create.
Just be aware that "loom math" exists LOL. Glad you mentioned hemstitching. I hemstitch the leading en once I have about three inches done - just before I advance the warp the first time. I find the hemstitch goes easier when the fabric is under tension. Your scarf looks great.
I really love your color choices!
LOVE the colors!
I miss weaving so much. It was my major in college but because of how expensive floor looms are (because i want to make blankets) it will be a long time until I can do that.
I just took my first rh loom weaving class today and ❤❤❤ it!
Every extended family needs a loom and a sewing machine. The world is changing folks.
This looks like my next hobby to master and put aside 😧
It’s a useful skill 😊 might come in handy sometime
Oop you've done it NOW! Now you'll be calculating and planning weaving projects FOREVER! xD
So beautiful!
That is gorgeous!! 😍
Gorgeous!!!
Oooooo, I need to get one of these.
👏👏👏 beautiful!
TOTALLY JEALOUS !!!
I love your helper! 😊

Thank you so much! I had such fun with this project! 🥰
Really lovely how rewarding
Absolutely beautiful! What size loom is that??
What a lovely loom!
beautiful my cat would be attacking the yarn for sure
Wow so gorgeous 😮
Really pretty! Love the colors
That' a very beautifull work.
❤
Gorgeous!
Whenever I feel a project is going slow I bust out the gradient yarn because then it becomes a game of "oh I'll stop when the colours change" and it makes it less monotonous
This is beautiful 😍
WOMAN! STOP SHOWING ME NEW HOBBIES IN EVERY SHORT!
Lovely!
💯💯💯💯💯🥰🥰
Hey I loved it :3
Thank you so much!!
I want to do this but I know myself and I know I will only use it once and forget about it for month.
The manager was checking in on you 😂😂
I don’t need another hobby I don’t need another hobby
Can you link materials ?
This is the loom I used: ashfordcraftshop.co.nz/product/rigid-heddle-loom/ - the kit comes with everything you need except the reed, I used a 10 dent for this project.
I used a skein of my own handspun yarn for the warp and one of these in a discontinued colourway for the weft: www.knitpicks.com/yarn/chroma-fingering/c/5420203
Happy weaving!
@@katmakesWow! I'd be afraid to use my handspun for a WARP! 😮 You must be very skilled to produce so much yarn that's strong and smooth enough for a WARP. Any problems with breakage?
❤love the Lap Warmer, oh and the looming & scarf 🧣 are amazing too!
