I knew some elements of hull design from building kayaks in high school… but now I know much more. Thanks for the education. Thinking about a Phoenix for the spring.

Loving your videos. My wife and I just bought a used Northwind 17 from Voyageurs North Outfitters in Ely. We’ve rented your canoes in the past and decided we have to have our own….now we do!

Bear. Great job. You have always been so good at explaining complex elements in a simple way.

Great series. I didn't understand the difference between tumblehome and shouldered flare. I just knew I hated the canoes I've paddled with tumblehome. Thanks for the great explanation with the pics!

Bear, The B16 is a great tandem for solo backwards. How does it compare to the Northwind 16 as a solo?

Both work fine backwards. The B 16 is a little easier to handle as a solo since it's shorter. It'd be my first choice for bow seat backwards.
