Sooooo many questions I have. 1st ... seeing this is strictly "Kenjutsu" style training, is there an Iai element attached or is that completely separate?
The training sticks being used look very much like the little know Okinawan weapon called a "Gusan" ... any relation there?
As well, why are sticks used primarily rather than bokken? Was this due to the time frame the art was founded and sticks/tree limbs were by far the easiest to obtain and train with so the tradition was kept?
Nonetheless, I find the art VERT interesting. Just can't find much concerning it online.

Jigen Ryu swordsman performed 11,000 strikes a day as part of their daily training regiment. I assume they use sticks because having craftsman constantly make bokken would be too costly and they wouldn’t be able to keep up with the volume so they resorted to the sticks instead.
I believe I saw a demonstration video where they use bokken for their paired-kata.
