I lived in Tauranga for 13 years, I'm now back in Ireland, both my children were born there, I have so many found memories, lovely to catch a glimpse of it again 😜
Lived in Tauranga and the Mount in the early 90s for 2 years. Then went back to England, still miss this beautiful part of the world, made a lot of friends and still keep in touch and I watch these videos a lot. Still wonder at times why we went back to England.
Was living there from 1995-2001. Remember the late night Friday shopping, DEKA, hot mini donut guy in red square, and summers that went on and on. Good times and great memories there. I've been back a couple of times since for visits, but to be really honest, I preferred it more in the late 90s there personally....perhaps more for nostalgia reasons and feels.
My home town, left in 2003 for Australia, came back because of homesickness, visited Tauranga every few months, but Tauranga will always be my home, it's where I grew up, but now I'm a kiwi living in England.
This is awesome, really great to see it from above. I was born and raised there. Tauranga's changed so much since I left NZ 14 years ago. But it's still home and always will be. And one day I will return. I don't think there is a day that goes by where I don't think about it.
I went there last year. It was lovely. And I'd give everything I have to have the chance to stay there. But it's probably not possible. Thank you for this video. It keeps my dream alive.
Nowa Zelandia to dla mnie koniec świata. Żeby mieszkać w Australii to trzeba być szajbusem, ale żeby zamieszkać w Nowej Zelandii, to już trzeba być radośnie pojechanym, na maxa. : ]
in that case i wont know you. I left in 1995 round the age of 40. I look forward to going back for a visit, after seeing different parts of the world, I didnt realise how great Tga was
Great video indeed. The only thing that I regret is that both the Aussies and the Kiwis did not inherited the great British architecture style. Their buildings are so tasteless...
Those shots taken flying down the strand would breach NZ Civil Aviation Rules due to proximity to an airport. You would be right in the Right Base approach for Runway 07 at heights not too different from what aircraft would be at that point. I've had a near miss with a UAV flying through an airfield circuit and it wasnt remotely funny. Some airspace awareness wouldnt go amiss...
Tauranga is growing very fast, but personally I don't think there needs to be any high rises or any other night life. Tauranga is conservative and filled with old people. They tried making a gay club in the city but people voted against it

What Province is this in?
New Zealand doesn't have provinces, but if you are talking a geographic regions, Tauranga is in the Bay of Plenty

The best city in New Zealand, followed closely by Auckland.
