Initially, the ami buggy is a limited edition to 50 copies sold from July 2022 only in France. The 2nd series sold out in March 2023 so it was ready in time for summer :)

In France, where I live, the VSP ( voiture sans permis) is a well established mode of transport for those who for one reason or other don’t have a driving licence. The ICE vehicles are made by several manufacturers and can be driven on the road from the age of 14. The Citroën Ami is nothing more than an electric VSP and can only be regarded as a toy outside the market it is designed for.
Unfortunately Stellantis is treating it like a toy too. It needs to be more like it's namesake
The Renault Twizy outperforms it (80kmh & airbag) costs the same and regrettably hasn't changed since 2011
The cheapest chinese EVs would wipe the floor of all European heavy quadricycles

I have a Twizy and LOVE it! There's nothing this does better than the Twizy and the Twizy did it 10 years earlier.

Ner, spend £10k on a decent Smart fortwo petrol convertible. Use it all year round and can even go on motorways for long journeys.

it's a quadricycle. basically a moped with a frame... so safer in a crash and keeps you dryer (especially the one with doors) and gives you a place to store things.

These roads are narrow because when the Romans first build London, there are no cars. The Victorians simply "cut and paste" the formula. TFL has no choice but continue unless they knock down the buildings or we invite Putin to bomb London so that we can rebuild (just like Hitler did with French cities, and the Americans/British did with German cities).
Remember the fiat version coming next year.. the same product but with slightly better styling and costs more.

But why, 28mph where I live is Germany is trouble, in town you need to keep with the traffic and 45 kilometers per hour it wont do.
Same issue in Belgium really, roads are usually 50 or 70 Kmph with only roads that are center in city/town or near schools to be 30.
I love the form factor of these Ami like 'cars' but the restriction on speed has made go for a regular car license.

£10k for a car that has no doors so no protection from the elements. Not sure I'd be happy driving down the road with a 32 tonne truck bearing down on me.

It's been two years since we first saw the Ami. At this stage we should be expecting more improvements from the Ami/eRocks/Topolino. They're no more competitive or cheaper than han the Renault Twizy that remains unchanged since 2011, but that Twizy has an airbag and 80kmh top speed. EV technology has improved too much to see the Ami (or Twizy for that matter) languish.
There's love for the beach buggy vibe but it's just tat, it's not enough. Price is the big one. A lot of bloggers with Amis are having the lemon experience.
the pricepoint sounds more like "if you crap money, buy this" or better yet "if your parents crap money, they should buy you this" if you are someone wo a license. because any reasonable person with a license would just buy a used iMiev for driving as far as they are ever gonna go in this and there are electric mopeds going for about 1500€ where i am from. so specially wo a proper door, its extra pointless.

There is literally no category in which the AIM is not beaten by an Electric moped/motorcycle. Weight, Efficiency, ease of parking ect.
Safety, rain protection? Two wheels in winter is miserable.

So it is pretty much the same "car" as the regular Ami but with no doors to compensate for the lack of proper windows and AC on the regular Ami. And it is more expensive.
In this case i would rather get an ebike rather than this overpriced "car".

Looks horrible, too slow to be useful and made by Citreon so it will last all of 3 months before the doors fall off. Maybe that's why they didn't include them in the first place... It's a bigger version of those children's ride-on cars that the parent can remotely control.
Nobody has yet EXPLAINED the Point of EV as Environmentally it makes no sense. Am talking the whole process of EVERYTHING to make an EV from digging to get at raw materials too what powers the charges etc etc etc . Just wish all you car shows asks serious question or are You Afraid that you be Cancelled by the government/Manufactures. Seems to me the Only Honest person/company to this question is TOYOTA yes they make EV but They Still ask the question.
