I hate that all adult animation tries to be Family Guy or Rick & Morty. THIS is what we want -- real, RAW moments of humanity set in cool worlds and stories. I loved Infinity Train so much.
i felt so bad for ryan when min gi thought that the reason they were on the train was bc of him, and then ryan talked about his parents not giving him the attention he needed and min thought his life was perfect, free my bby ryan
Technically he was there because of Ryan since Ryan threw his keys into the portal, but it did annoy me when he was acting like Ryan was stupid and he was perfect. I also felt bad for Ryan when he accidentally left Min and couldn’t go back and then Min thought he left him, which I think is hypocritical since he left Ryan on stage by himself twice.
Did the train went for both Min and Ryan? Or just for Ryan? Because the I thought it went for both of them because they both have flaws they needed to work out with each other. Min did everything he told to do and Ryan just does anything he wants

I think it is the passengers choice to board the train and don’t think Min would have chose to go on it. I don’t think the train forces passengers to go on it.

@theprincipal2994 I don’t think Ryan’s parents are bad ones, either. They just have too many family members to deal with. Ryan had more than 5 other siblings, so that would definitely make it hard for Ryan to feel like he’s loved. Their parenting is just a byproduct of Min’s trying too hard, and not trying hard enough. Which isn’t their intention of course, but it lead Ryan down the path of wanting to be loved and seek attention and rushing in his dreams without a plan, and Min being a people pleaser who doesn’t pursue his dreams because he’s afraid of what other people would think
That scene on the bathroom was really amazing. I wish there were more cartoons that acknowledged racism as it is unfortunately very present in the lifes of people of color since a very young age.
That scene was so unexpected for me, it was like , “wow, they really went there.” Infinity Train has a history of “going there,” but It was honestly still amazing.
A lot of people seemed disappointed with this season because apparently it was a "downgrade" from book 3? But like, things don't always need to be super dark and disturbing for it to be mature or interesting. Don't get me wrong, book 3 was amazing (and equally traumatizing) but i personally really really like this season because of how grounded and realistic it is. As an Asian person who used to want to pursue music but couldn't because of my parents telling me it's not a "real job", i identify with Min-gi a lot. I can also identify with Ryan in the sense that i was the child who went unnoticed. This season takes a mundane situation that isn't talked about much, and makes it so emotional and interesting. Kez's story with the passenger was also really touching, and "never left the fog" is such a good metaphor for people who never moved on from a traumatic event, and instead found distractions. This season doesn't have horrible deaths or corruption arcs, but it's still really good and as always, portrays human behaviour in such a raw manner. The idea of two passengers coming in at the same time with the same number was an interesting concept and they made it work.
I did really enjoy season 4 as with the other stories. I think my main gripe was that it was a stand alone season; I was expecting it to tie into season 3 with Amelia and Hazel, like how each season tied into the previous one. But it was still the same deep writing as the other seasons with the message that it's never too late to try and repair relationships and that sometimes people can get stuck in their grief and need help processing it.
@@cruehead23 i guess that's because the creators were planning to do an entire season on Amelia and how she took over the train, so this season was probably a foundation for that as well. and yeah, it would have been nice to explore what happened after S3 but i like that they took a step back showed what the train was like in the past. the creators had eight seasons in mind apparently, it's just a pity we never got to see them.
@aaa color coded lyrics its a downright shame we never got to see any of the planned content. This is hands down one of the best recent shows. I hate HBO for canceling.
@@cruehead23 agreed. it's one of the shows that never shied away from tackling serious themes or toning down the darkness. the characters were so fleshed out and sometimes uncomfortably realistic, and that's something i haven't seen in a lot of other shows, even the ones that are still more mature. the voice acting, animation, storytelling, everything was so perfect, it's such a shame good shows like this never get to reach their full potential.

It was more or less already implied in the first episode how because Ryan had such a huge family, getting his parent's attention was difficult as a middle child, and it contrasted with Min being an only child whose parents' attention was always on him but also kept placing high expectations on Min. tho it would've been nice to show more of it, 10 eps with 10 minute each ,,, I'd argue those precious few seconds in the ep one is all the series needed.

I really feel for Ryan, he has such a bubbly and wily personality; but like notice how he represses his issues...he feel likes anyone he tries to connect with(like his exes) just seem to completely reject him for who he is, even his parents. He went to Min at his lowest, in desperation to bring the only person with him who accepts him for his flaws, and then when he messed up bad, he just...gave up and stopped running away from the truth. But Min didn't give up on him...and like is it any wonder why Ryan feels so safe around him & _loves_ him--

And we get a little bit of a timeline for when Amelia took over. Ryan and Min-Gi were born in 1966 according to the creator and they’re 18 while on the train, so Amelia took over sometime during 1984 while Ryan and Min were on the train.

I know people didnt enjoy Book 4 because it is the "final one" [hopefully for now] but its a really great entry to the series. The idea of two passengers sharing a number is the kind of world building i wanted from the series and while i hope we get more, im super glad we got this.

I think that was when he was simply referred to as "One." I'm not sure what Amelia did to him when she took over, but I think she corrupted him so that he sort of split in two. And we only saw him combine again for moments like the turtle car episode where something is so wrong with the train that it snaps him back to who he once was. I think we also saw a hint of him in season 2 when he was given an impossible math equation and it sent him spiraling for a solution until he was given two answers, both of which he accepted.
the bathroom scene, the scene when they talk about when Ryan "left" Min, the whole final episode, the train to nowhere song and the "we're working on it" makes me soft
The most emotional scene in this season is one where a talking floating service bell relays a conversation about how she accidentally helped someone with their trauma too well, while nothing happens on the screen visually. And it's an amazing scene.
I just finished watching the series and I can say with 10000% certainty that this final was not a finally it didn’t feel like one and everyone probably has a bitter taste in their mouth if they watched the finale

God I love min but I was so mad at him when he was blaming everything on Ryan and acting like he didn’t leave him multiple times as well. They both have their own problems and that scene/scenes made me so upset. Not that Ryan was completely perfect but that just pissed me off.

Same. Like I’m a queer myself but the insistence that any characters that care for each other are immediately in love is infuriating. The lack of romance in the show adds to it I think! Like if they’re both changing and growing as people just because they love each other it kind of cheapens the whole thing and isn’t them becoming a better person, just a better partner.. They’re learning not to leave each other because they’re learning how to be better people, not just because they wanna smooch or whatever. Same with Lake and Jesse. jesse didn’t come back bc he’s in love, he came back bc his growth was not being a push over and learning how to do things with conflict. The only people who I think being in love wouldn’t take away from the story is Simon and Grace, and that’s because getting out of cult mindsets is hard and cults rely on you not having touch stones outside of the cult and fighting for approval. I don’t think they’re together either but at the very least I don’t feel like them being together would take away from the story, and could even add to it with like the idea of being able to leave behind someone who’s ideals don’t match your own.

Considering we did get passenger for s2 trailer word up for s1 and the cute when i look at you start in s3 this crime against music is less than what I'd hoped for s4 like comn make this important but don't force me to hear it like 20 times maybe idk have their first successful song before jumping to them apparently being successful with train to nowhere which is fine ryan had a musical career a weak one but maybe idk have a reveal that ming plays one of Ryan's new song and make that emotional instead of another children scraping the board scene

Same. Like I’m a queer myself but the insistence that any characters that care for each other are immediately in love is infuriating. The lack of romance in the show adds to it I think! Like if they’re both changing and growing as people just because they love each other it kind of cheapens the whole thing and isn’t them becoming a better person, just a better partner.. They’re learning not to leave each other because they’re learning how to be better people, not just because they wanna smooch or whatever. Same with Lake and Jesse. jesse didn’t come back bc he’s in love, he came back bc his growth was not being a push over and learning how to do things with conflict. The only people who I think being in love wouldn’t take away from the story is Simon and Grace, and that’s because getting out of cult mindsets is hard and cults rely on you not having touch stones outside of the cult and fighting for approval. I don’t think they’re together either but at the very least I don’t feel like them being together would take away from the story, and could even add to it with like the idea of being able to leave behind someone who’s ideals don’t match your own.
