In this video I show you how to fix a common fault with N64 consoles... a stuck reset button.
I show how to open the console shell to get to the button & then how to quickly and easily repair the fault.

Thank you very much for replying. Just one small request. According to your charming wife, she said in a video several months ago that the Texas treasure Gal uses an app that will make the background of your photographs completely white. Could you please tell us which app this is, or if you do not know off the top of your head then could you please email the Texas treasure Gal to ask her, as an email from you is more likely to get a reply than a message from a viewer. Good stuff Nic. Amazing how simple the N64 is. I don't think I've ever had one with a failure. No moving parts! (cept for the buttons)

Another tip for NTSC N64 Consoles, if you open it up that much and remove the tabs by the pin connector you can plug NTSC-J (Japaneses Version) N64 carts into it and it will play them. Thats how they region locked it. PAL wont work because 50Hrz compared to 60Hrz. Great video Nic! I see a lot of n64 consoles with this problem. Love the outtakes hahaha

Strange; My buttons were really difficult to move. I took both buttons out; they were really clean despite them not moving freely, after a wipe with isopropyl and replacing them, they move like new again.

Very good, but I ont think it's worth it. The power button is just as affective I find; as I have the same problem

Wouldn't it have been better to hold the case together and test the button rather than screwing it back together just in case it didn't work and you needed to take it apart again?
Also when it is screwing in to plastic make sure you don't over tighten the screws as you don't want to crack the plastic or break off the lugs the screws go into.
