I resonate with Chugga for about his story with Lucas, Shulk, and Pyra/Mythra. I felt the same way when it was announced Snake came back for Ultimate. Not necessarily for the same reasons as him but rather, in the Smash fandom I swear if a character even has one projectile, the whole fandom erupts into flames.
Yeah, I definitely wish I had an easier time doing that. Emile's comment on Smash Bros. characters is basically me with every game I wanted to play in the past decade or so. :/ The most obnoxious opinions are always the least deserving of any attention. Conversation starts at 43:25. I like listening to it. :)
More shenanigans with Tom Fakes and Custom Smash. This was such a joy to watch in the past two years, and I love to see them replayed again! The only regret is to not see what "Pyra bites Emile" means, missed oppourtunity for maybe what could have been one of the best TRG Colosseum moments but oh well. They rest of the segment was great!
In which Tom brings back some Custom Smash favorites (and maybe a new stage) with Emile, Jon, Dan, and Josh. Their taunt buttons don’t seem to be working as intended however, and what’s this incentive about Emile getting bit? We may never know what that last part’s about.
@@nicholasseim5738 As lovely as Skye Bennett would look as Pyra, that sounds rather dangerous, irresponsible (both in terms of potentially putting Emile in physical harm’s way and due to the current pandemic situation), and rather costly, and I’m unsure as to whether she’d be comfortable with such an idea in the first place.

Nintendo’s rather strict on their contracts about what VAs for their characters can and cannot say (similar to Cast members at theme parks like Disneyland and the like). I know some have gotten into trouble with Nintendo as a result of their ignorance on that.
For context: the reason why Tom had to stress that Stephen was alive at the start was because the lamp bumper aired right before this segment.

THAT CHARACTER BEING IN SMASH IS WHY GINO IS NOT IN SMASH! ...Or its because Nintendo never cared enough to make that character appear again after Super Mario RPG 30 years ago. Or the rights for Gino are in a legal tumble between Nintendo and Square so they cant.
I empathize with Chugga liking characters that the rest of the Smash fandom hates. It's Byleth and Pyra/Mythra especially as of late. Also Sephiroth and Hero would legitimately be characters you could blame for Geno not being included, and chances are other circumstances could have had them be chosen over Geno.
As a fire emblem fan that mains Hero, I’m sadly used to the complaints. I’m more annoyed when people go “oh, another anime swordsman,” and then non-ironically ask for Sora. Geno I don’t really get why he’s so popular, as I found him bland, but I guess he would have a different move set than most characters. But Sora is another anime swordsman, even if his sword is a key. I do like Sora, but I will call out hypocrisy.

You should see Twitter explode all over JRPGs negatively... all because a character from Dragalia Lost beat Crash in a fan poll. My most wanted character is a Tales of character. It used to be Lloyd Irving form Tales of Symphonia, that recently changed to Yuri Lowell form Tales of Vesperia. And I hate this stigma agaisnt swordsman and JRPG characters so much because one look and boom, dismissal. You know what Banjo's reveal did for me? Pushed me to want to finally play a Banjo Kazooie game and now it's become a "Where have you been all my life" game (I grew up with an N64 but Banjo Kazooie wasn't in my mind at the time and the most I've interacted with the series was Masae's LP of it). I wanted people to have that experience with a Tales character in Smash just like Banjo did for me, but I guess I'm never going to get that happiness of knowing someone got into my favorite series of all time because of Smash.

Man, it's not any other fighter's fault that Geno isn't in, except MAYBE Cloud. Geno isn't in for the same reason he hasn't appeared in a Mario game in 25 years: Square owns the copyright. And given how stingy Squenix has been with the FF music until Sephiroth's reveal, my hopes for Geno are all but dashed. I'll pin my hopes on a different dream character for the time being... Magolor for Smash.

Also I like when Emile was mentioning Mother 3 localization and Lucas in Brawl he said "Back when we still had hope." 😂 It's true and it hurts. 😂😭 Also Emile. It's not always your character's fault. Sometimes it's Minecraft Steve or Sephiroth. I was actually upset they made Geno a costume and not even a deluxe but Pyra and Mythra made up for that. In part because of Emile's XC2 lp I was happy they got in. They were the dlc I was happiest for.

That character was Banjo & Kazooie, the first playable character(s) in Smash history to come from a series of non-Japanese origins (if you count the Donkey Kong games before DKC as part of the same series as DKC, as well as counting Metroid Prime as part of the Metroid series) and being one (or two depending on if you see them as one character because gameplay or two because they're two separate entities) of the least anime-looking characters.

I never got why people complain about certain characters making it into Smash Bros. Usually when there’s a character I don’t know, but is fun to play, they usually act as incentive to play the games that they came from. That’s how I got into Dragon Quest and Bayonetta. Maybe it’s because the characters I’ve always wanted are Pac Man and Ridley, and they’re already in the game. I’m not picky about who gets included
The stage doesn't come back because of the mechanism you use, it needs a brace and something to knock it down, the problem with this is that when the main platform respawns it is influenced by the materials and some random rotation. It ends up getting stuck on the brace or knock down... both of which exist outside of playable space where spawning/collision is messed up. You'd need a visible contraption and different build to fix this completely destroying the theme.
i will admit, i never knew people had any negative reviews about lucas being a new character back in brawl then shulk in the wii u/3ds then pyra/mythra, but i have to say, i love pyra/mythra in smash ultimate, i've been using them all the time since their release but i can understand that some players prefer one game series rather than the other cause like with final fantasy or dragon quest series, i'm not a massive fan of those games at all and sometimes i get annoyed that they create so many characters from those series in smash and not allow other series a time in the sun like the kirby games for example since the only characters we have are kirby, king dedede and meta knight, would it hurt to add another character in the game.
I share the the sentiment of chuga and jon that the smash community is extremely salty about characters even tough they got their "dream" characters as part of the main roster or dlc. I never cared about Banjo or K.Rool but I was ecstatic when Terry got announced because I never thought an SNK character, much less someone featured in KOF, would get into smash.
I miss the earlier Smash community, no-one complained about reps back in Melee, and in Brawl it was some mild salt over too many clones. (Apart from some vocal Sonic-haters) I chalk this up to the rise of social media and game creators paying more attention to it, leading to fans feeling like they have a personal relationship with the creators and so feel "betrayed" when they aren't given what they want. You barely know these people, and they do NOT owe you anything.
People focus too much on the new characters, and not on the effort of getting so many in, on how there are so many characters, all here to represent the many generations of gaming. Showing the trends in the series, representing both the biggest in the industry as well as some of the forgotten. How much work is put into every stage and every character to make sure they represent the series they’re from. All the work into getting the music and even making new songs to fit the games. All the balancing work in order to try to keep the game balanced and fun. Sakurai doesn’t have to put in as much effort as he did, but he cares about the small details. I just wish people wouldn’t get so upset because of petty things like “oh, Geno isn’t in,” or “oh, another anime swordsfighter.”
Because most, if not all, of the Colosseum events have had facecam. Heck, even Jon, who normally doesn't use one, has one. The last art segment is one of the few exceptions to that, and even then, it had Lucah's VTuber avatar, which is more or less the same thing.
And to this day, we never knew what "Pyra Bites Emile" meant. And we never will.
