Just over 20 years ago the couple rescued and saved a wild animal…. The locals thought the animal was a Jaguar when it was actually an Ocelot. They tried to convince the locals what it was but they always called them the “Jaguar people” As they kept accepting injured animals … the name stuck.
To be fair, you could take any city in the US and it could wind up shady in some parts. I'm so glad you two decided to pivot and found that hidden treasure of a place to stay. I've enjoyed following your epic adventure!
Yes, it was great during the day and when we were in our hotel it was fine but ….. not often we have felt uncomfortable in places we have travelled to. All good. Nothing serious. Just pivot and move on !!!
