You missed out on the best beach, Playa Chiquita. There seems to be some debate about Punta Uva being better but Chiquita has less people and is a secluded jungle beach due to only roadside parking and people too lazy to walk 5 min on a trail. The beaches are only a 5 minute bike ride apart. I have not been to see Surinam yet but I have been to San Andres but still think Puerto Viejo has much more to offer.
I agree that I missed a lot of Puerto Viejo and I do agree it has much more to offer than Suriname , but as I mentioned it reminds me of Suriname . But agree if I have to compare San Andres with Puerto viejo . There is a lot to do in Puerto Viejo . I had fun there .
You can't generalize that the beaches in the Pacific of Costa Rica are brown... There are white sand, brown, golden and black sand beaches in both the Pacific and the Caribbean of Costa Rica. All beaches are different.. Nobody eats what you ordered in the Caribbean of Costa Rica. They eat rice and beans limonense with chicken and caribbean sauce, rondon seafood soup, patty and agua de sapo / hiel to drink.
I gotta visit!
It’s a must .
The Caribbean vibe , the food , the people are all the reasons I’ll be visiting again
