I have been collecting for 7 years with +600 volumes. Slam Dunk would be one of my recommendations. It's more than just a sports manga. It is a coming-of-age story with beautiful art, great characters, a hilarious comedy.
If u like monster you’ll love 20th century Boys it’s done by the same guy and comes in the 2 in 1 perfect editions and tie honestly amazing

lol yeah, i've been collecting since 04 and there's definitely years of time between me purchasing manga. my collection is pretty small still since I tend to sell the stuff i won't reread, but recently have picked the collecting back up and started a couple new series, but inevitably it'll take the backburner again once i find a new interest lol
I've only started collecting 3 months ago and only have 13 volumes. Have to recommend Witch Hat Atelier. The artwork is insanely beautiful, the way magic is displayed is extremely unique compared to other manga.

My recommendations is definitely one piece . One piece literally changed my life . My week lightens up just by getting a new one piece chapter
Been collecting for a full year now, still have a small collection but I’m happy and content with it. I think I’d definitely recommend dorohedoro, golden kamuy, and life lessons with uramichi oniisan.
For the omnibus question, it depends. If it advertises that it's a 2-in-1/3-in-1 etc., especially if within, the individual tankobon start and endpoints are demarcated, I count as more than 1. Things like JoJo and Fist of the North Star, which are like 1.5 in 1s, I just count as 1.
I’ve been reading manga since 2001 (I think could be off by a year or two). I own over 1900 volumes. I remember when they flipped the manga to read left to right. Manga was not as accessible as it is now. The book stores had maybe one row or a shelving unit of manga. Though I’ve been collecting more over the last 2 years about a 1/3 of my collection is over that time frame. It started like all things back in the early 2000s. With dragon ball z manga. And just exploded from there. I’ve seen manga section expand and contract a few times over the years. It’s a beautiful sight to see the section grow again.
I'm 26 I bought my first manga when I was 9. I would say I wasnt a collector until I was 16, so I say Ive been collecting manga for 10 years. Idk how much I have I last counted 2 or 3 years ago and I had 300 volumes.
I recommend The Flowers of Evil it is a great coming of age story with Oshimi style of messed up circumstances and disturbing scenarios. The Flowers of Evil or Aku no Hana od say is a 16+ series with 11 volumes, or 4 omnibus volumes. It is a drama with some great suspense without a single punch being thrown.
Now if you like action I have one more recomendation. Black Cat it is a simple action shonen but it does everything right. It is about a bounty hunter who left his organization due to peolple he came across along his journeys. It is a story of over coming the past with a great ending. Black Cat is 10+ a fairly clean series, 20 volumes and also one of TheAnimemans favorite series too. I think its on the same level as the Dragon Ball series in terms of entertainment and enjoyment.
Been collecting for around 10 months now and i have 76 volumes in my collection as of right now. I‘d highly recommend reading Edens Zero, it‘s really good imo.
I count omis as one, I've been collecting for a while but sold it all once now working on building it back up.
I recommend the golden sheep by Kaori Ozaki, and A man and his cat by Umi Sakurai. Both are really wholesome and likely to hit you in the feels, and I think you'll like them, especially during winter!
Boogie!! AHH!! Love the videos as always. I really encourage you to try more of To Your Eternity and Beastars! Honestly To Your Eternity is something I feel is so original and unique and so masterfully crafted that I would put money on you likening more of it, especially if you like their other works like a Silent Voice. Also the anime is absolutely gorgeous if that is better for you and the first season ends in a really beautiful place. Then for Beastars as much as you can find loop holes in some of the plot points, it really does a great job in world building and character development as the manga progresses that I think you would appreciate it. But, just a warning some people hate the ending, but I found it kind of fitting for what Paru was trying to convey with the characters. I hope you might consider checking these series out more and adding them to your extremely diverse and well rounded collection! Thanks for posting
You have a great collection!!! I’ve been collecting off and on for a few years, but my collection is still small. Personally, I love The Ancient Magus Bride, but if you aren’t enjoying it, don’t force yourself to read it. Life is too short for that.
Astra Lost in space and girls last tour are 2 series that i feel like everyone should have in their collection. Both are pretty short astra being 5 volumes and girls last tour only 6.

For seinen id recommend Hells Paradise and Golden Kamuy; Shonen Black Clover. In the same boat with hells paradise waiting for volume 2-6 for months. Definitely looking to read planetes eventually
Im personally a huge manga fan and reading them just adds them to my collection. I don't ever wanna call myself a collector cause I'm afraid that I'm gonna fall into the collector mentality and start just collecting manga for the sake of it. Currently got about 80+ and a manga youtube channel
Since you're a fan of Barakamon, I recommend Yoshino's other English works Handa-kun (prequel to Barakamon) and Yoshi no Zuikara, a three volume series that follows a manga artist and how he gets his ideas for his manga from his rural island community.

Maid Sama is the one manga that is my main goal to collect. After watching the anime I want to collect the manga. It's the same thing I did with Ouran High School Host Club. I started collecting manga back in late 2007. My collect is not as big as someone would think it would be since I have been collecting since 2007. I've started to recollecting manga a couple years ago and I now have a list of manga that I plan to collect.

I just started collecting manga this year and I started with D-gray man!!! It's really good, I'm kind of collecting the 3 in 1 editions because it's less expensive than the individual volumes.

Hello Boogie!!! I am hope that you are doing well and having a safe move. I personally really like Ancient Magus Bride. It has beautiful art, a world of melancholy and magic. I am interested to see how Chise and Elias develop. The college arc has been semi interesting so far for me. I totally see why people would lose interest, but I am gonna keep going since I have been enchanted by the series since I first watched the anime. Thanks for the collection update. I recommend Boarding school juliet! It has great mix of story and comedy, good pacing, and character development too. As the name suggests it'd based off Romeo and Juliet, but it is a complete different take on the story. Also the last vol started printing in English not too long ago. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend the manga for Mieruko-chan. The anime is airing this season. It is a horror comedy. It is really good. One of my favourites.
Also (probably some people already mentioned it and you will hear it a lot of times, but...) Chainsaw man is amazing. It think you would like these 2 series :)
I love Goodnight Punpun and would highly recommend it. Also i like to count my volumes as 1 volume = 1 book, so omnibus count as 1 for me
If you liked zom 100 you will love "I Am A Hero". The physicals are a little rare but it's worth it

I think I'm collecting for about 5/6 years, but I really started collecting in 2019. I would recommend Fullmetal Alchemist for sure and also Seraph of the end.
i might be a beginer but i have been collecting for like a year now. thats because when i bought my first manga i didnt really care about collecting until i got back into it but still i only haev like 6 volumes i highly recommend onepiece or any of the big three but its a lot of commitment.
You been growing a great collection it is hard to recommend something you havent. I would like to see more people in the community reading Read or Die. Not sure if it is for all but its a short one
As a junji ito fan myself I would recommend gyo. It's not as long as uzumaki but it has a great story imo
I highly recommend sun ken rock, this manga is fire, the first chapter of sun ken rock was a bit too fast pace but the art of sun ken rock is at the level of Vagabond.
My first manga was hells paradise it got me hooked to manga
I only started collecting manga a couple of months ago and so far I only have a couple volumes of Fullmetal Alchemist because it's a classic and a few volumes of Mob Psycho 100 because it's one of my favorite anime ever, but my boyfriend has much more manga than I do (Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, The Girl from the Other Side, etc.) and since we live together I kind of count that as an addition to my collection as well
Clamp is a really good Artist I recommend you look at the books

I just started collecting last month. I only have 14 volumes atm if we're counting omnibus volumes as one. I don't think I'm really in a place to recommend manga to anyone, but if I were, I would recommend either Fist of The North Star or Tokyo Ghoul.

As for my recommendation..? Well I think you have a thing for seinen manga, so I’d perhaps recommend either Dorohedoro (one of my ALL-TIME favs) or perhaps Master Keaton! If you love Monster and 20th CB, it’s just another great work from Urasawa!

The case study of vanitas, it's amazing and the steampunk aesthetic is immaculate!
I’d recommend Bakuman or Trigun/Trigun Maximum but Trigun is pretty hard to get rn but still a great manga and the anime is also pretty good

I recommend Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku. It has really interesting plot and characters are very good as well. Art Style is very raw and panel designs are amazing.

I’ve been collecting for two years and just hit 160, and I count omni’s as however many volumes are in the omni. 3 in 1 = 3 volumes
I currently have Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki Kun, Boys of Flowers, Beastars, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Uramichi Oniisan and Wotakoi :) I want to get 20th Century Boys too. I know GSNK was a really popular anime back in 2014(?) but idk where the fandom went T.T, check that out if you want a good laugh! Uramichi Oniisan has also been hitting real hard lately and I think you'd relate to it.
I count the individual volumes in the omnibus books! (: I've been collecting manga for about 17 years (now I feel old haha). I really need to get my hands on Maison Ikkoku. 👀 You should check out After the Rain! ☔ It's a bittersweet, coming-of-age story about two unlikely people finding a connection in similar despair and helping each other in unexpected ways. 😊 Great video!

I count an omnibus as one volume for manga but not for books. It makes it easier to count and less confusing. Also been getting into the manga: Saint Young Men (it’s so gooood) and Cross by Sumiko Amakawa. Don’t know if it’s your cup of tea tho 😅

I love Urasawa, so I definitely want to check out Mujirushi based off your recommendation. I would recommend to you, Spy X Family. I know it's going through some stocking issues right now but that series is right up your alley! 😁
I go by whatever MAL says so if there are 3 volumes in an omnibus then I say I have 3 volumes as opposed to 1. And yeah mine has grown it’s almost as big as yours!

I just dropped the same series as my recomendation, its so good! now i will recomend to you girls last tour. Also a short one with only 6 volumes. I would put it on the same level as Astra lost in space.

What I recommend (comedy):
Light Novel: Konosuba. It's not exactly "wholesome", but I would describe it as cozy and warm. Characters are incredibly easy to get attached to.
Manga: Dandadan. no English physical release yet, but one of the best comedy manga I've read as almost every chapter has me genuinely laughing.

I have been sitting on the entirety of available Volumes of Vinland Saga for months and months now simply because I liked the Anime S1 so much that I fear I would read it too fast and end up waiting on next Volumes to come out, which with this series in particular they do take quite some time to come out

Hey boogie! I recommend you to try "Witch and the Beast" manga (not a shoujo series) . Its a dark fantasy action seinen manga . The plot is intriguing , hooked from chapter one .The art is well detailed and very cinematic . Picked this one on a whim , one the best decisions I've ever made . There are only 6 volumes released so far , you easily catch up . Give it a try you'll love it

I've been a manga reader for a good long time now, but moved back and forth between the US and Japan too often to really collect much, until recently.
Thought I'd throw out a few recommends! Kabi Nagata has some great autobiographical memoir manga: I own "My Alchoholic Escape From Reality," which I related to on several levels...
Given your appreciation of Seinen, definitely recommend "Chainsaw Man" and "Fire Punch". It don't get much grittier than that these days.
For a cuter, SOL romance, like Maid-sama, peep "My Dress Up Darling" - the anime is coming out early next year I believe.
Also, given your appreciation for Gantz, I'd check out "Gigant", from the same author; be warned, it's even more adult NSFW than Gantz is.

My manga recommendation is actually going to be geared specifically towards French speaking fans: BECK! Kodansha recently gave the French translation rights to Delcourt and they are releasing new Perfect editions of this classic rock coming of age series in French and I am definitely going to be picking these up. The first volume dropped back in October and I believe a new volume is expected each month (Yaaaaayyy).
I know many people will be familiar with the anime but I truly believe the manga is better (yes even for a music manga). Check it out!
Even if its not in physical form, and i think it won’t ever be, I deffinately recommend ”Insomniacs After School”

Definitely getting some of those!!!! Specially the hardcovers editions. Man, just... I'm not a native English speaker, but these editions are so beautiful almost all my manga are in English! And can't stop. Alita, Blade of the Immortal, Soul Eater, Chobits... non of those has a proper edition in Spanish, so fuck it... love Dark Horse and Kodansha so much I don't think I'm gonna let them go.
I have been collecting since July of this year…. I have not bought an omnibus manga yet, so I wouldn’t know… But honestly I would count it as one, idk if I want to buy any omnibus tho since singles look so good… :)
Edit: Highly recommend “My Dress-Up Darling”, I mostly love Shonen and fighting manga. I also have romance and what not but I really enjoyed “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” tho!!
The only bad omnibuses are the shonen jump ones they have really shit paper quality and they are just overall bad quality

I recommend drifting dragons. The anime is a bad adaptation, but the manga is amazing. It’s has one of the best world building in any manga I read.
