Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942 is based on real-life events that took place from May 12 to 28, 1942, which engaged the Red Army in the fight of their lives. During a vicious German counterattack that began on May 17, 1942, three Soviet Armies were surrounded and were forced to fighting in what has become known as the "meat grinder". Through the monstrous roar of tanks and military vehicles, and the blaring sounds of war, players will experience bitterness at the loss of their comrades during battle and elation when they are victorious.

Taff, if you like this one, check out Steel Armor: Blaze of War. In that one, you drive a t-62 or an M-60 tank (If you play as the Iranians). There are 3 campaigns, one in Angola, where you play as the Cubans I believe helping the Angolans against rebels, one in Afghanistan, where you are the Russians, and the Iran-Iraq War, where the Iraqi's use the T-62. Really cool cause it's one of the few games to have those wars, especially Iran-Iraq.

Love this game, installed a bunch of mods too where you have more tanks to drive around in, more missions and campaigns to play with (like a britsh one). Can really recommend it, i forgot the name of the mod but if you google mods for this game you will get pointed towards it pretty much at once.
Yeah i have a number of mods installed i have STA (Steel Tank Addon) which does add new tanks and mission ingame
This video makes me miss Red Orchestra (incl. Darkest Hour) Tank Warfare... :(
This, add the campaign system from Rise of Flight or something similar.... I'd be in heaven.
Instead we get WoT and WT, deathmatch games... Really makes me wish Wingssimulations returned and made a Panzer Elite 2.
yeah a campaign would be fantastic, there are a few short ones made by the community, great little sim, far more engaging for me that WoT or WT
now is comming Clash at Prokhorovka... im so ducking excited about it, its from the creators of Il2 series... looks promising as hell, I just hope its not another WT GF.

this game reminds me of an old PS1 game called Panzer Front and i loved that game, this looks like it would fill that nostalgia hit for me, did you buy it off Graviteams site or did you have a disc at hand?

I hate to disagree with your tanking, here. But you and your guys are driving Panzer III's not IV's. Most probably H variants. They are quite similar being boxy and all, but pretty easy to identificate once you know what the differences are.
I'd like to see more of this, It's pretty laid back to watch and a nice addition to Silent Bugs 5, which I very much enjoy to watch.

Ah.. probably a little hard to get that :) .. Guess I'll try my luck on Amazon or WinGameStore, which seem to be the only two sites still selling the game.
I had to admit, that its really hard to find any copy of this game today. Luckly i bought it years ago and i just find it about 2 weeks ago and installed it :v Good luck in finding this game thou. Best tank sim ever.

What a great looking game, and to think it was released in 2008, was you thinking of doing a play through or just the odd game? I love your sub hunter 5 series and hope you could do some more of steel fury in the same sort of format as sub hunter 5 as it would be nice to see if there's any more to it other than just jumping straight into missions.
That is Graviteam for ya, those guy's make extremely detailed and good looking games O.o
If you have Graviteam tactics with the Russian expension and the game Steel armor blaze of war also set in the same setting, you wouldn't even know the difference if you zoom all the way in, in Graviteam tactics.
Such a under appreaciated developer they are. Everyone drooling over AAA games with how amazing the engines are there....yet they have nothing on this game. How many AAA RTS games do you know that look that good 10 years later O.o
sadly there is no campaige as such mostly set missions/battles although the community have created some short lines

Just finished a session on world of tanks and what do I find? Tanking Taff :) ... bit more realism here though, hopefully no Russian bias in the game meta.
Haha yeah got to love the bias in some of thses games, but this seems like a really good sim, Im enjoying it so far!

most of the missions are stand alone but there are a few with short campaigns of 4 to 5 missions

has anyone downloaded the demo and found it really blurry?

Seems to be a nice game, but the commands and voices in the background are annoying after a while.

It's a really niche audience. War Thunder had a pretty fun mode (I forget if it was called Sim or Realistic) up until a few years ago where they pulled it out. I believe they said it split their player base up too much. There's also Steel Beasts Pro, and sometime in the summer we're supposed to get Gunner, Heat, PC! (GHPC)
