Hello K elly (sorry if mistyped your name) I made 200 grs following your guidelines but is not as "watery" as yours look, I put it a small jar but I don´t think it will work in a squeezable tube like it. This is what I used, 5% refined shea butter (10 grs) 3% of cetoestearyl alcohol (6 grs) (it is the same as emulsified wax), 3% (6 grs) of stearic acid, 2% (4 grs) of beeswax , 18% ( 36 grs - 22 grs macadamia-7 grs grapeseed oil-7 grs avocado oil), 134 exfoliants (divided into equal parts of nutshell, pure sea salt and epsom salt) 2 mls of fragance. but realized the mix was not loose like yours so I added 6.4 grs more of grapeseed oil. Preservative did not add since it is my sample to try on me right now :) smells delicious.... Please what you mean with this? ALTER THE PERCENTAGE OF SOFT OILS REGARDING THE PRESERVATIVE AND FRAGANCE QUANTITIES TO ADD TO THE MIX? ------- 0.5-1.5% Preservative (check the guidelines for your chosen preservative - if using more or less than 1%, alter the percentage soft oils) ------Fragrance - I used 1% per our guidelines. Adjust percentage of soft oils if using more or less 67% Exfoliants ( I used Pumice and a mix of sea salts - you can use sugar) Thank you very much and keep doing great products!!
Mine looks fluid until the oils cool and set but it's set once cooled. Definitely not for tubes. You may have problems using just Cetearyl alcohol as it is only one part of a an emulsifing wax. Using only that could make it too solid. With regards to altering soft oils, your chosen preservative may have different usage rates to mine so use what yours says and make up the rest of the % in oils. Same with scent - I used Essential oil which allowed me 1% but a fragrance oil could be used at higher so use less oil.

Love love your videos and this new one is just a great coincidence as I started making emulsified scrubs just a few weeks ago! Just a quick question though, can I omit the beeswax and just replace with additional Ewax and stearic? The reason is mainly the cost. Thanks and more power!
Thank you Jean 🧡 Omitting beeswax is definitely something to have play with. I would probably increase the stearic acid as this will help with the hardening whereas the emulsifying wax is more to get the scrub to turn to lotion when in contact with water. I understand, live in méxico (province) I found a few good companies that have several waxes for cosmetic purposes. One asked what is the purpose in the formula so they Can offer the most suitable. Please let me know what exactly the function of it. Thank and appreciate your kind attention to my inquiries. Regards
@@guadalupealcocer1262 the emulsifing wax is used to allow the oils in the scrub to emulsify when you introduce water during the foot treatment. This will allow the oils to cleanly wash away from the skin.
@@SoyandShea thank you very much
top of the line! i just love your process. when you heat gun those shrink bands on, im like i want thatttt.
And I went to your website, looks great. You have so many quality items, congrats. I am very curious about your body washes. they look awesome. I've been considering formulating something but i feel like i'm missing some ingredients. do i need SCI granules? foaming bath butter ?
anywayay another great video demonstration and mega quality product. great job and thanks for sharing your recipe! bonus!
Thank you 🧡 the body wash has been one of my biggest challenges. I've been trying for years to make one but every time it splits on me. I ended up buying DIY bath and body's recipe from etsy. She has brilliant recipes which are easy to tweak if desired. I will keep working on formulating my own though
@@SoyandShea oh thanks so much. Sandra? how do I contact her if i want that? right now it's no big rush as i'm working out so many other details but soon I'll be interested for sure. great job on yours, and the colors and delightful.
@@Izzazzo you'll find her on Etsy. Look up DIY bath and body and her store will come up. Or if you go to my foaming sugar scrub video, there is a link in the description box.
@@SoyandShea thanks mate! ;)
@@SoyandShea I have something to share with you. this is a professional body wash formulation. I got it from the Institute of Personal Care Science - I am studying under their free videos right now. I would suggest trying if you want a real body wash with a stable emulsion.
I am yet to get certain ingredients needed but will be trying this once I do. Who knows when tho...in the meantime wanted to share this with you. Please let me know some day if you happen to try it! Happy formulating! - Michael
lov u 😍😙😙
Thank you for watching
Love love your videos and this new one is just a great coincidence as I started making emulsified scrubs just a few weeks ago! Just a quick question though, can I omit the beeswax and just replace with additional Ewax and stearic? The reason is mainly the cost. Thanks and more power!
Thank you Jean 🧡 Omitting beeswax is definitely something to have play with. I would probably increase the stearic acid as this will help with the hardening whereas the emulsifying wax is more to get the scrub to turn to lotion when in contact with water. I have found it you can find local bee keepers you can often get beeswax from them for a much better price than suppliers and I feel it has more of the properties we want still in fact.
I meant to tell you that the Institute of Personal Care Science is in Australia! who knows, maybe someday you'll see it in person :)
I noticed that. They are not too far away from us
@@SoyandShea awesome. it's so exciting how much there is that can be learned !
Hi, thank you so much for sharing this lovely recipe. Got a couple of questions, a) can you suggest an alternative to pumice powder? B) can it be made without preservatives?
Thank you for watching. You can add any exfoliants you want or just add more salt. This product comes into contact with water so i would not omit the preservative.
Hey thanks so much for your quick and helpful reply. May I know how fine should be the pumice powder for this recipe .. can you specify grade or mesh , cause a supplier here is asking me and I have no clue.
@@Kidogoart my suppler doesn't list the hex. It lists it as being for body so its a coarse one.

Ok
I tried this without the colorant and it was a nice color. But then after a couple of weeks it slowly turned this nasty green color. Very unattractive. And all my ingredients were recently purchased. Should I just use a colorant? I know you mentioned it turning darker with the colorant also. I just didn't expect color change after so many days.
Otherwise it's really a great recipe.
I do recommend a colour in particular green. The pumice will darken in colour as it soaks up the oils.
@@SoyandShea ahhhh! Thank you so much! I searched everywhere for an answer to this.
Hello Keeley, just wondering if you would mind sharing where in Australia you get your tubs and cream bottles from?
Thanks heaps, still loving your videos 😍
Thank you 😊
I use New Directions Australia and Heirloom Body care for my packaging
@@SoyandShea thanks heaps
Please just give the measurements as promised
Have you looked in the description box? There is enough information there for you to be able to create your own unique scrub.
"some people can't stand it"
I know that wasn't intended as a pun but it made me giggle xD
Lol - I hadn't even registered what I'd said 😆
no good :( really sticky with avocado and grapeseed oil, I will try tomorrow with fractionated coconut oil and very little macadamia
You may want to also use a mix of hard oils rather than just Shea Butter as this can be a little sticky too.
@@SoyandShea you are right, I will use fractionated coconut oil and take out beeswax, and found the polawax will buy it and try as many times needed until achieve results jajajaj you inspire me. Thank you so much for your kindness to reply very promt. Thanks from my heart Keely :) hugs from méxico
