I think it's silly that people are criticizing you for having a tattoo removed. It's your body and your money, so you can do with it as your please. Don't let the hate get you down. ❤️

If it helps, I have multiple text tattoos and have never been asked about it by a stranger. The only time people have asked about it is people who I was already talking to, and normally when we are exchanging tattoo stories. Get whatever tattoo you love :)

I have two tattoos.. one is just text.. one is text coming out of a image.. I love them both.. the only one i get asked about in my thigh piece.. i just say what it says.. and move on.. but hardly get asked.. and to honest the only time it is seen is in shorts or a swim suit

Love the new intro! I hate when people act like because you have a tattoo that normal personal boundaries/etiquette no longer applies. I've had people straight up move my hair to see my tattoo behind my ears. Like, when is that ever ok?

Oh my god everyone tries to read my tattoo. Usually I'm just like "sure" but it does get tiring. It's on my inner forearm, so it's visible, but not? Do you know what I mean? It's also annoying because then I have to explain it because they don't get it. And since it's a tribute to my dad who passed away, sometimes I just don't want to talk about it.

I have a text tattoo as well, so annoying when people ask/feel they deserve to know! I've had people come up to me on the street, pull my shirt down (my tattoo is on my back), read my tattoo and ask what it means. Blows my mind people think this is acceptable.

Could you maybe talk about "Basic" tattoos? one of my friends got an infinity tattoo back in 2012 and shes so annoyed with people saying shes a basic bitch for having it. I think its kind of interesting too see the evolution of "trendy" tattoos!

Just watched this in reference to deciding whether I should get my HORRIBLY DRAWN tattoo fully removed or just do a cover-up ~ I decided that I'll just get it fully removed because I want my body to look how I want out of respect for myself, no matter how much it costs. Thanks so much for this video!

I've been the person to stay within my comfort zone when it comes to tattoo artist just because i was so unsure how to make an appointment when it came to getting a tattoo from an artist out of state. I didn't know it wasn't ok to ask someone to see their tattoo. I think that person asked in a rude way but I've told people I like their tats before. Honestly, I don't see why someone would take offense to a person being interested in their tats. I appreciate tats for the artistry and stories they hold and I like to see nice ones. You can't stop someone from reading a tattoo that's in public. I don't think people should be demanding about it, but they will look no matter what you say they're allowed to do

    • @Brianna.

It's super annoying when you get asked all the time about your tattoo. I have people grab my arm without asking, so they can see my tattoo. Honestly, it is so annoying to get stopped all the time, and having to move your arm around to show people. It's one thing to say "hey, cool tattoo" and another to make me stand there while you move my arm around.

    • @sheenaallen8762

If I wear a slogan t-shirt, I expect people to read it. I thought people with script tattoos felt the same way. I would never ask anyone to move to read one, and I certainly don't touch people I don't know, but it never occurred to me that people would put "private" script tattoos in exposed areas.

I have the words "independently happy" on my wrists to prevent self harm. It's a song title from a band that helped me get through a really hard time in my life and it's on my wrists, so yeah, it's out in the open 99.99% of the time, but that doesn't mean it's there for anyone but me. Tattoos are personal and even when they don't have some super deep meaning, we're still not billboards.

I went through a tough depression, Had a spontaneous tattoo I got removed, Had a bunch of people with tattoos tell me not to remove it, faded it to a point I'm happy with. It's been almost 4 years since I got it and I'm still waiting to cover it when the time is right. As the tattoo faded, I worked on my mind and getting myself mentally healthy again! I agree never to let anyone tell you what you should and shouldn't do for yourself or your own body. I took it as an experience and have gotten more tattoos since. Plus its always a fun story to talk about why I have a super faded tattoo!

The new tattoos look so good! When you said the locket used to be red I was like whaaat, did the blue cover the old color without need for laser?
I had one tattoo reworked and man I'm so grateful my tattoo artist agreed to do it, I used to avoid looking at my forearm (that's not easy) but now I love it!

Really relating to this and considering removing my back tattoo to replace with a new one. I got this tattoo right when I turned 18, I was a little too eager and it doesn't really fit in unity with the rest of my tattoos

I have lyrics on my arm and they're in French and..it's a personal tattoo. It's a little annoying when people say "oh wow can you say it in French!?" I can but I just don't like to and they get offended when I say I don't want to.
Or when I tell them what it means they're like that's like a suicide note!

I hear you when you say it's very awkward and unwarranted when strangers want to read / examine your tattoos in a public setting. I read an article about this once and the author compared it to catcalling, rather "tatcalling" which I think is pretty accurate. (everydayfeminism.com/2015/06/tattoos-are-not-invitations/)

I've had my large forearm tattoo for less than a year. It's black and grey and I've actually realised that I should've initially had it done in colour and by another artist. Cover up is unfortunately not an option, so I guess I'm just going to have to wait until laser or something else proves to be something I can afford. Ah well, I'm not sad or worried by it, I guess your channel has made me realise that I shouldn't rush these things and that there's plenty of time to get what you want. Thanks for these awesome videos, love your tattoos!

Main reason I don't want a text tattoo is because I don't want people reading me. Plus I can't relate with a phrase so much that it has to be embedded into my skin for the rest of my life. Both my sisters have text tattoos and a shared tattoo of long island with a star over our childhood neighborhood. Walking maps and books lol But whatever floats their boats, it's just not for me.

I'm also super fair-skinned and recently got a cover up. I can "see" the old tattoo, but no one else has a clue, even when they're up close and personal. It's possible, but I wouldn't choose that method for every tattoo I wanted to replace/update/rework.

I got a tattoo on my hand and I loved it when I first got done, but as the healing process went on something went funky. I have 6 other tats that I love! Ones even jailhouse, it was my first and still is my favorite even tho it's faded and needs touched up. I've always thought I'd just live with it because I love it minus the execution, but after alot of videos and reading a shitload of reviews on shops near me I'm going to get it removed and redone. I know it'll suck pain wise but I want it to be something I can look at and truely love.

(then again i haven't had anyone say anything negative) Most of the time it's that is so cool i've never seen that. Or even better someone has something that unites us ( i have a jedi tattoo) it is like finding a family member in the world who gets a little piece of you. Again though maybe im weird.

2:45. This might be an unpopular opinion but for me, the more tattoos I have the more important coverups and reworks are. I know more now that I have more ink. Therefore, I now want my ink to be perfect where as before I didn't know any better. Maybe that's just me.

This isn't a story I share bc of the rampant Hate for plus size ppl in out society but I relate to Quken here. I got my first tattoo on my 18th birthday which I do love. It's angel wings on my left shoulder blade. The problem is I really wanted a full back tattoo of wings. I was over weight at the time and had too many back problems to get what I wanted. The real issue was that in my head I felt like I would never over come those problems. Now I have. It been 8 years and the black outline of wings are really faded. I know this will help with whatever I decide. Thanks.

When I first saw this I was confused about why you didn’t like text tattoos on yourself that are personal, and then I got a tattoo on my chest that included text. I worked at a gas station and everyday someone would ask me about my tattoo, and I even had someone move my shirt to read my tattoo. So I got a blast over and covered that shit up.

  • @michcookies

I've been working on something similar. Had a small tattoo in the middle of my upper back but wanted something bigger over it. To stop it being too dark, I had 8 laser sessions and am now 2 sessions into my cover which should be finished in the next session. I'm as pale as you are and so understand not wanting to go too dark with the coverup, but no one understood why I was going through laser removal to have it done again. Would rather take time and money and get what I want.

Qcknd, I'm having a horrible dilemma at the moment. Coming into my 20s I really thought that I wanted to be completely covered in tattoos and now I have very visible tattoos all over my arms, with my left arm almost at a sleeve. But I've only just realised that they're not a true representation of me anymore and I don't know what to do. I'm scared about how much it's going to cost to get rid of them and I'm embarrassed to explain to people that I got rid of them because I regretted them (essentially) - do you have any tips or advice on how to cope with this situation? It's becoming quite debilitating, to the point where I'm constantly down and can't even stand to look at myself in the mirror (let alone look at my arms in general)

Laser tattoo removal is not a fun procedure. Just finished my first session on my neck, your skin begins to bleed heavily and you can smell the burning ink in the air.

Definitely a bit late to this party, but love your tattoo reworks! I think the oxidised locket looks gorgeous, totally cohesive with your whole arm! Was wondering where your cute bralette/strait back bra thing was from? Thought it was hella cute x

First, I found your channel yesterday and have been binge watching your TTT's and have found them all super helpful. I want a sleeve and didn't know how to go about finding the perfect artist, I have just been going to people that other people I know have been going to and I like him but he doesn't do the style I want.
Second, where is your kimono from?
And third, know any good artists in the Columbus, OH area?

    Looking for some advice:
How often can you get tattoos touched up? I had a quite small tattoo with a lot of detail done 4 years ago. The colors and even the black have faded a lot so I would love to get a touch up. But since it‘s a small tattoo i‘m scared that the lines will get thicker threw the touch up and take away a lot of the detail. I‘m also scared that if I get it touched up now I won’t be able to get it touched up in some years because it might just cause to much trauma to the skin going over it several times. (Hope that makes sense) Would be so so great full for an answer.

I do have a text tattoo but it's in a place that is only seen when I wear tank tops or the like. People do try to read it and then the explanation is grueling. I can't wait to get a coverup.

What kind of laser clinic did you go to? Do you remember if the laser was picosure or a q-switched?
