  • There is such a divide amongst modern parents, especially online.
    “Breast is best”
“You had it so easy because you formula-fed your baby.”
“Why are you still breast-feeding your toddler?”
“You can’t sleep train your child because they will feel like you are abandoning them!”
“You didn’t sleep train? Your child is going to end up with sleep issues.”
“BLW is the only way to have a good eater.”
“Why are you allowing your child to self-feed, they are just a baby!”
“You had a C-section. That’s the easy way out. Go for a natural birth next time!”
    Formula vs. breastfeeding
Sleep training vs. no sleep training
    BLW vs. purees
    C-section vs. vaginal delivery
It’s ruining us. The “vs” mentality.
We don’t have to claim superiority because we did something one way or our kid did something faster than somebody else.
I need you to take a moment and put the things you’re stressing about in regards to your child in perspective. Sleep, feeding, behavior, potty training, etc.
If it’s not going to matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes beating yourself up over it.
Our children WILL grow up, they WILL be loved, they WILL thrive with loving caregivers by their side.
And they WILL eventually go to job interviews. And I know for a fact that NOBODY will be asking them any of these questions. Why? Because it truly doesn’t matter in the long run.
Our goal is to support our children and their specific needs on their timeline and OUR specific values as parents.
You know what matters more than all of this? That you raise a kind, compassionate, and loving human being. A child who loves themselves, knows their worth, and has a healthy relationship with food, their body, and their emotions.
And what matters even more is that you value yourself as a parent, that you have the confidence in the decisions you make for your child, and that you let go of the self-judgement.
