      Mee too and I discovered the only 2 years ago when they already retired.
      I love very much ice dance and skating since I was very very young. ( Protopopov, Buch/Buch, Rodnina/Zaitcev, Katarina Witt, Scott Hamilton, Brian Boitano and so on) I saw them not on italian tv , but on some others european tv.
      Here in Italy, even if we had some good champions the italian TV never covered as due ice dance. So I have lost so much.

    As a mature woman who chased her passion; I’m still learning resilience, and how to achieve excellence because perfection is impossible. Tessa you’re younger by far and have achieved so much more - thanks for sharing your hard-found wisdom with us!

    Oh my goodness. First of all Thank you for doing this beautiful interview with Tessa. Ryan your Mom Brenda, feels exactly as I do. And My Name Is Brenda!!! How funny. Being a Competitive Skater and Now a Ballroom Dancer. I can truly say I have so many similarities as you Tessa. As a kid I was a single skater, and now I'm a National Ballroom Competitor and relate to what you said 100% about being accountable and protecting my partnership with everything I have. Sending You Lots of Love.😊💝

    When this was shot who made the decision to do individual shots of each of the two of them? The both could easily have been in the same shot there's lots of room. Meanwhile look up rule of thirds, fill the frame and other elementary compositional rules.

    What was the leg injury? Did she have to skate in a lot of pain? Is it fully recovered now?

    • @wilhelmina8843
      @wilhelmina8843 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      She had an "over use" type of injury that caused her a tremendous amount of pain. She had to have two operations and almost had a third. She would be able to skate for only about 30 seconds at a time when it was flaring up. She said just a year or two ago that unfortunately it didn't all entirely go away as she had hoped once they retired. She still has pain sometimes even though she doesn't really skate anymore.

      It's called Chronic Compartment Syndrome -- and the medical community doesn't fully understand this well. Her experience of multiple surgeries and not fully resolving the pain, is quite common. It was/ (is still) thought to be an issue of tight fascial compartments and the typical surgery involved opening up the fascia. However, new research is indicating that this condition really has nothing to do with "fascia" but is moreso a venous compression -- basically the popliteal veins get compressed when the leg muscles are active/engaged. The blood flows to lower legs through the arterial system -- but then the blood can't escape because the veins are compressed -- thus the pressure builds and its intense pressure. It feels like your legs want to explode! I had 3 surgeries for this and have kept up on the medical literature over the years, bc I, too, never got over it.
