RIDING AT BADMINTON GRASSROOTS Pt 1 | XC Course Walk & Dressage

- Join us as we finally Compete at Badminton Horse Trials in the BE90 Grassroots Championships... if you're new here you may not know that we qualified for Badminton '23 but sadly due to my horse being poorly had to withdraw 2 weeks ahead of the competition. So Qualifying again and actually getting to ride on the prestigious turf felt even more special this year.
In this Vlog (Pt 1) we walk the Cross Country Course with Em and Cam, which is really insightful and got me even more excited about riding it!!

Tina, loved your excitement and ‘bring it on’ attitude in the course walk. You and Banks are an incredible team, you do each other proud ! Tina, watched your B90 Pontispool vlog Sept 19 yesterday with EM and you were saying how you would be happy with 4 faults and a 30ish dressage. You truly smashed badminton WELL DONE

Love Cam and his very intuitive take on this course. His advice at the broken bridge is spot on and considering the 5* are told by the course designer in his remarks to the riders to simply kick on at the grown up broken bridge. Tina you sound very positive and really bright and on it. Fabulous.

Crazy story, the day you left to travel to badminton me and my boyfriend were coming home from staying in Hayle and I said on the way back I would imagine Tina will be heading to badminton today and I said as a joke look out for a black and white lorry.. We were going along and my partner goes like that one coming up and IT WAS YOU! We then stopped at the petrol station on the dual carriageway and I said to him I wished I got a video going past then literally a minute later you and em stopped and went around the back! Really wished I came and said hi:( xx
The traffic was horrendous going home, I live in Gloucestershire so I felt your pain of travelling up!

That WAS great. Fascinating to watch and listen to the different perspectives.
I love coursewalks with Nala - her with her stick starting around fence 10 dropping it, sitting, and then when everyone starts moving, picking it up again and carrying on. And jumping the unfinished bridge was adorable.

Alex wasn’t really on my radar until your vlogs. He is incredible. But it made me adopt him as the rider I was gunning for at Badminton . He is awesome, - you and Banksy too ❤

I'm in the U.S. but noticed a tree that we call buckhorn, which is very fragrant, almost immediately after Cam told Tina how good she smelled. I think it was the tree.

Wow, I know how much we all love Cameron and his energy. But Alex being so calm and chill for your dressage warm up was absolutely the perfect vibe. Did not expect that, how lovely of him!

I’ve been following for a very long time. It has been a sometimes woolly and wonderful ride. It has been epic watching you and Banksy and all the hard work you’ve put in. It really shows. Can’t wait for show jumping and cross country.
Aahhh thanks!! Yea it hasn’t been straight forward especially with 22 & 23 being such tough and emotionally draining years. But do pleased 2024 is so far going so SO much better and that my boy is really thriving xx

Fantastic that Alex devoted his time to you prior to dressage. He obviously is very caring and I sense he has deep feelings for Banksy. Very well done, looking forward to the SJ and XC.
They were both so helpful and like you say know my boy so well. I do think it helps massively when trainers will willingly ride the horses too like they both do xx
Just keeping up with the Badminton videos but after seeing you and Banksy working towards this for such a long time, and you actually being here makes me somewhat emotional 🥺 you both as a team are great, can't wait to see all the amazing things that are coming up in the future!!

Well done- Gosh, your dressage has improved 10 fold this year! Alex really has done amazing things for your riding level & Banks way of going. But just as importantly, you should be super proud of yourself for all the hard work putting everything you were learning into practice until it was becoming habit, as that is the hardest part IME.
30 is a really good score for a champ track, but it is a bit of a shame about the judge at B not seeing your first give & retake, as I think Emily was spot on- that test looked like a sub 30 to me as well...29.5 would have been my guess.
Very much looking forward to watching your SJ & XC rounds!
Love this so much! AMAZING riding, Tina and you have prepared the gorgeous and talented Banksy so well! He looked like he could have done it all over again the next day! What an amazing rider and horse person you are and what an incredible, beautiful and sweet horse he is! Thrilled for you and Meg and Alex; amazing riding and results all around! Of course Em is a supergroom because she's super at everything and we will see her at Badders next year, I'm sure!
