regarding sa filling naman, since nag gagawa po ko special siomai, nag tweak lang ako konti nilagyan ko sesame oil, very very small hint of anise, whole raw egg sa mixture at itlog na maalat nilagay ko. it turned out very satisfying at delicious. ala nga lang sauce. nag mix n lng ako oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, ketchup, hot sauce. anyway thank u sa tutorial nyo. very helpful and rewarding. keep safe po and god bless

I did 2 1/2 at first and it was way too dry. Sometimes it depends on the quality of your yeast and the humidity where you are located.
I always buying Robin Hood flour. I didn’t see White King flour in grocery at my town ( Canada) . I will trying with RH , hopefully it good like your . Thank you so much for your answer . Siopao on your video looks so delicious . 👍
Hello, Ji! I already had a filling recipe and was just searching for a siopao dough recipe. I'm so happy that I stumbled upon your channel! Your recipe delivered on taste and texture! It was so soft and fluffy! It was so good that I swear I could eat the steamed dough even without the filling. 😋 The five minutes of kneading is so critical to give the dough that elasticity before rising. The only changes I made was to use 2-1/4 cups of apf plus a little extra for rolling after rising and I steamed the buns immediately after I made them for approx for 15-mins. I made mini siopaos, about half the size in your vid. So delicious! Thank you so much for sharing! 😀

I used white king brand for AP flour,any brand of good quality white sugar,calumet brand for baking powder,any brand of cooking oil,make sure the water is warm not hot..it will kill the yeast if you use hot..if you have more question feel free to ask ill gladly answer you...thank you

all purpose is just plain..normally use everyday. 🌺 my dear. the cheap flour. if you like yr pao to be super white commercial look...use bleached flour.which is harmless to eat. dont forget to plc cloth at the cover during hot steaming to capture water droplets. or you hv soggy buns.

Ji’s Kitchen great! Also, is there any way I can prep these beforehand and steam when I’m ready. For example after the second rise and the Huns have been filled, can I put them in the fridge or freezer until I’m ready to steam them?
Devon Montecillo if you want to preserve the buns...all you have to do is steam..and let it cool down put in a ziplock then put in the freezer..you can resteam the buns if you want to eat...you can preserve the buns up to 2-3weeks..

Its normal the dough to be sticky..you just have to garnish some flour..so it will not stick while you kneading the dough..

Devon Montecillo if you want to preserve the buns...all you have to do is steam..and let it cool down put in a ziplock then put in the freezer..you can resteam the buns if you want to eat...you can preserve the buns up to 2-3weeks..

Ginawa ko recipe mo kaso ala ako all purpose flour kaya 3rd class ginamit ko.. Di sya malambot na fluffy pero pwede na pagtyagaan.. Salamat sa recipe.. Ggawa ako ulit pag may all purpose flour na..

Hello before anything else..did you dough rise well?if your dough didnt rise well..it will turn out hard and failed..

I wasnt able to rise it because i was trying to knead it but the dough is already hard. So basically i wasnt at that point yet.
