In 2018, she turned it into a rental property with eight other bachelor units on the same property.

Why SABC, Promote a person , who bought an RDP for R80.000. To build an RDP Cost more than that. So, what happened to the person who sold that RDP House, this is Sad indeed.

I guess the tough one is getting a property that is for sale.
A lot of folks are selling above market rate because they know that any new buyers are going to demolish and make rooms.
So, essentially, you do need to have some solid funds. But, there is that one or two properties which you find and someone is relocating or in need of cash, and you can cash in on those, but otherwise, people sell amongst themselves and keep it that way

Great stuff. But its a myth to assume property value increases forever. If you buy a house on a new development area, then people start erecting squatta camps nearby, crime rate increase etc, that property is or has decreased in value.

That’s not a common problem but then again any business has a level of risk and you weigh your risk against return on investment

You can sell an rdp after 8 years. That's the law. For the first 8 you don't receive a title deed. Educate yourselves people
