I bought this turntable last year from Pult Electronics after I demoed it against other products in the same price range. I just liked the sound much better, but the installed Melody MM cartridge still wasn't quite there for me in terms of the sound quality I was aiming for. Then I was introduced to the MMF-2.3 which was a bit out of my price range but I learned that the Spirit MM cartridge is also compatible with the Melody cartridge on the MMF-1.5. I tried it again after the cartridge swap and never looked back! The Spirit cartridge with this turntable takes it up quite a notch, and I would highly recommend this upgrade if you end up going for the MMF-1.5.
Music Hall TTs are junk. He buys the motor, tonearm and cartridges from Project. Then what exactly is Music Hall contribute. Lo ve my Project X2 with Sumiko moonstone cartridge.
In this case and with other MH turntables, the tonearm does not comes from Project. I don't know the source. Other TT manufactures like AT do something similar.
I’ve had this turntable for 3 years and I absolutely love it!!!
Great review… I own the 1.5 & it’s got a great bang for buck ratio!
