      @kathrynmcgarry309: Can’t tell if you’re coming at this from an anti-appropriation angle or suspicious practitioner of Abrahamic faith angle but in either case, the aspects of yoga practice which are helpful for improving prefrontal cortex and motor nerve function and working with neuroplasticity after an injury are not the spiritual practices associated with it. If somebody said prostrations, bowing, kneeling, or practicing the “crossing-yourself” motion might help rehabilitate a body part after an injury, nobody would have a problem. :)

      @ayamesilver 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      as far as i understand it, this is just session 1 of multiple to train/stimulate the brain into using the correct reflex (or suppressing the reflex). so it's a temporary state in this video and would likely regress if the patient stopped treatment before it was fully resolved.
      there's nothing wrong with the body, it's the brain getting confused and using the wrong set of reflexes. he's just reminding the brain to use the other 1. you just have to keep reminding it until the underlying problem goes away (like inflammation) or it rebuilds the pathway to the correct reflexes with all the stimulation

    • @ayamesilver
      @ayamesilver 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Zach-p4e6pit's involuntary so you can't just choose to not follow the reflex. it bypasses the part of your brain that controls your conscious actions, so the signal is sent out before you even know it's been triggered, much less stop it. the best you can do is desensitize a reflex so it's more difficult to trigger, which is how people learn to not flinch at things.
      the only way this could be faked is if the patient didn't actually have the reflexes to begin with and is just pretending to have them. and would have to be a really good actor at that, because everything else points to this being a new patient (reserved body language, but not off put) that's at the center of attention. you can see the patient getting less reserved as time goes on: talking, making a joke, getting more comfortable around him/less "robotic" or stiff movements.
      ^ that stuff alone is difficult to fake, much less micro expressions and such
      i mean, I'm not sure what the lazer is about since you don't have photoreceptors in the back of your head (temperature or something similar?) but sensory feedback would be reasonable to expect if you're trying to stimulate parts of the brain through the nerves. it's just a sign saying "hey, pay attention to me!" and waiting for the brain to catch the hint as to what you want it to do.
      and he said, himself, that it's not an instant cure all. you have to work on it until your brain does it on it's own

    I lf a person sees this test before having it done. It would subconsciously affect the results.

      Yes which is why they don’t explain it to you. She has been before and agreed to be filmed. It does take multiple sessions to see permanent results.

      In most cases except that in this one the patients have neurological issues that would prevent them from faking it. It is possible though in the format of this video that they faked it entirely which would require the young woman to not actually have brain trauma.

      Maybe the laser pointer thing, and EXPLAINING what he’s doing might increase placebo effect, but everything else here looks like some of the stims I as an Autistic person have been doing since childhood to manually self-regulate my nervous system and until now I had NO IDEA what I was doing or why it might work!

      Am sorry hun, actually he is not. Doctors often test for the presence of these as babies move throughout their milestones. However, they don't always test to make sure they are not there after you pass these milestones.
