    I bought a cheap $10 chinese keypad about a year ago now, still use it to this day. You can't remove the rgb but you can kinda change the colors, with each tap it changes. It's also hotswappable, so I've been using glorious pandas on it for about 4 months now. I still think that it was a pretty good purchase.

    the sim pad nano is amazing only problem i had was that it didn't stick to my full desk mouse pad very well so adjustments had to be made, other than that it's definitely worth it if you can really afford it, but be careful when ordering it in EU though, i had to pay in total of 50€ because of tax & shipping

    correction on the video:
    The Sayopad O2L RGB (the very first one shown uh the square) is hot swappable and it does have a software where you can change the rgb colors and animations and stuff, it also has a customizable debounce (i have mine set to 0.1 or 1000hz)

    I have "old" (2018) version of cheap aliexpress keypad. It has additional small buttons that are programmable and you can change lighting. Recently i tried looking for the same keypad and couldn't find. I got lucky, i guess, but idk what i will do if my keypad dies on me.

  • @tannietf2

    Motospeed user here. Since I am already a custom keyboard nerd, I have a lot of switches to swap to which in this case, I swapped them with NK creams. The keycaps are fine, I don't think they are fragile considering I have been using it for more than a year. Though it is probably made from ABS plastic, so it shines and get a little bit slippery. As for random keys, I got the number 8 and 9 numpad keys. Funnily enough, these keycaps make me acc so well I have no idea why. The only complaint I have for this one is its size. I sometimes tapped too hard and made the whole thing roll over, so I need to clamp them inbetween my keyboard and wrist rest. But as Kachulu said, great keypad if you already have spare parts to swap to.
    I also bought the tap trio because of the aforementioned keypad flopping issue. The build quality is great and completely eliminated that issue I had. They come with cherry MX red switches. Though I am disappointed that I could not get good accuracy on this, it may takes some time to get used to it(skill issue). I have tried swap the switches and keycaps from motospeed to this keypad but it really feels off, so I am back to use the motospeed keypad and their keycaps except I swapped out NK creams for MX reds as I wanted to get more speed by using lighter switches(again, skill issue). I could try to go back and use the tap trio for a while and see if I can get used to it, then I can post more updates here in this thread.
    Well that concludes my review on these two keypads. Sorry for the wall of text, but if you made it this far, thank you for reading and have a nice day!

    I've used a cheap ass keypad for 1.5 years now, it literally served me so well that i still use to this day, some cheap keypads actually don't last long (mine doesnt because idk), but buying a literal overpriced keypad is not worth it except if you're looking for quality and a long lasting one and willing to spend a bit of bucks on it, i've actually had the Motospeed K23 since before the keypad im using right now, its a numpad keypad so it has alot of numbers, but the only problem was it wasnt hotswappable and its not really a keypad for osu in general, but i would say that its a risk buying keypads that are very cheap and they might break easily. (the video i did on that motospeed is bad imo)

    • @Kachulu
      @Kachulu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a lot of people have had great experiences with cheap keypads, but they are for sure have a much higher chance to break and become useless. That's happened to me with all the keypads that costed less than $20, so i ended up buying more costly ones and havent had that experience since.. most of my friends break all their cheap keypads too, so i sort of opt to recommend those higher costing keypads due to these personal experiences

    The low-end keypad, i don't know if all low-end keypad have the same brand or different brands but the same look and same devices, i have the low-end mini keypad which you showed us in the video, mine is called Sayo Device, inside the parcel i got, there's an instruction on how i force to change what Key it should be clicked, it is programmable and so is the RGB lights, to program the low-end mini keypad you have to open the sayo device or whatever brand your keypad supports, open the website and plug in the keypad it'll say if it detects it, then you just program it, cool right

    i got motospeed keypad and surprisingly it's good for now. yes, it's got random keycaps. the switch sucks. but when I use another switch like cherry mx, gateron or hyperx (yes, i got one from someone), it's good. one thing that you need to know, i need some heavy sfuff to make it not moving around while doing some stream lol. bc my deskmat is speed type of movement, it's just goo wooooo xD. but i got it for 12 bucks. so, i can't complain at all. it's freaking cheap and it's good. the material inside (like pcb, light and the pin holder thing) it's quiet good actually. it's not just a hole with tight rounded gray ish thing that looks so cheap. this one has the own hotswap socket thing. so yeah, it's wallet friendly.

    This is not meant to be an attack towards anyone, but I don't understand how everyone is praising the SimPad.
    I used mine for around 4 months, tried different switches and new PCBs but all of them started doubletapping, letting go of the press while I am holding the key, the key remaining pressed down after I let go and other issues that made Osu impossible to play. I have also heard from other players that they had the same problems but not a single reviewer seems to be having these issues. Sure it's awesome momokai sells the PCBs seperately for cheap so you don't have to rebuy the entire thing. But what does it change if every PCB shows the same issues after 1 week of use.
    I recommend to everyone to not buy a keypad and go for a proper keyboard instead
