This is fantastic karaoke version. I love singing with a karaoke accompaniment since I do not know how to play any instrument. We studied and compared the two versions in class and enjoyed singing them too immensely. Robert Burns is one of our best loved poets in class. This is always sung not only on the eve before New year but almost in all occasions before goodbye - with people joining hands, then followed by confetti, or fireworks or anything that could produce sounds. The music instruments are very clear ... I don't know the right words to described the sounds altogether but just perfect for me. My Uncle victor was the one who taught me this. If he were alive today, he would love singing this karaoke version. He knows many old songs. His favorite is "Oh Genevieve Oh Genevieve."
It is good to know people are singing along with this version which was, of course, the original intention for posting. I have a small number of karaoke or backing tracks on my channel and hope to put more up all being well. They are quite easy to do although putting on moving objects is quite time-consuming but I am slowly getting faster if that makes sense.
the moving object was interesting and new to me a perfect guide for timing. normally, at least in this country, the syllables have "moving colors" indicate the notes. I don't know the technical term for them.
The blob is still perfect as a pointer. It's something different and creative. My grandson loves the blob. He follows it with his fingers. I could not stop him from being too near the screen because we will have an issue, so we plays it once for him.
Very good Peter, it's interesting to know the original words, they definitely evoke feelings. Reminds me a bit of singing Loch Lomand on karaoke here in the islands:)
Thanks for looking in on the karaoke version. The words are most interesting as are the English Translations. Robert Burns is so influential to the point of having his own night in Scotland which is a testimony to his great work and as you say, very evocative of feelings.
Peter it's good to know the history of Burns and his epic masterpiece, we've all been singing this song at New Years and most of us didn't even know who wrote it:)
Thanks Helena, yes I could hear you slightly but it will have to be a little louder next year as my ears are showing signs of ageing. wIshing you a peaceful and happy 2017 and many thanks for supporting my channel.it is greatly appreciated.....Still waiting for those Jackdaws to emerge.

The colours work well but it would take me longer to light up each word than having a moving blob.
