The way everyone is (rightfully) criticizing Amandla's lack of range reminds me of an old skit from Mystery Science Theater 3000. To paraphrase: "She found out her sister is alive! She watched her Jedi friends get butchered in front of her! What is her emotion? Dull surprise!"
Don't insult the holiday special. We get drunk and watch that cocaine fuelled train wreck every year. it's entertaining for all the wrong reasons. But entertaining still.
I thought this show was horseshit until that fifth episode. That was some of the craziest Star Wars I’ve ever ever seen in my life. I can’t lie. I have to be fair.
I probably would have given this a 2.0 mainly because much like the Star Wars Holiday Special, I think this could be watchable if you have Mike, Bill, and Kevin providing the RiffTrax. I know many of the reviews from both you and SnarkyJay riffing on it has been fun. That's the only thing about it I'll even miss because that's the only good thing to come out from this.
Remember when sitcoms and sci-fi TV shows like Stargate and Farscape all got 20+ episodes? Remember how hard the creators always had to work to act in, direct and write and film a decent, entertaining story, for television? Can you imagine what Game of Thrones might have been in those days, putting in the work to get a long 20 episode story arc for each and every season? Sure, you end up with a lot of filler, but also character development, and depth. When did it all become short 8 or 10 episode seasons, where they give any old garbage the greenlight, and still struggle to write anything substantial to fill the runtime for a single episode of this aimless nonsense? I don't know why they didn't just follow the story of Osha's training at the temple, going on adventures across Coruscant with her fellow padawans as she clashes with the strict dogma of the Jedi Order; this should have been easy, a slam dunk. Then BAM, out of nowhere, obe if the Jedi masters we've actually spent time with turns up dead, assassinated towards the end of the season, then building up rapidly to a climactic confrontation with the assassin, where all the characters we got to know and become attached to quickly find themselves way out of their depth. I mean, we can see that's essentially what they tried to do, but they couldn't pull it off because they got bogged down by their agenda, some throwaway line on diversity politics, and the "parent trap" gimmick of this vanity project from Mrs Leslye "inspired by the love between the sisters in Frozen" Headland. I still cannot fathom how they messed it up. I wouldn't have, and I'm not a film maker; but maybe I should be.
I have no pity for Lezzye, lying about not even wanting a 2nd season, and after cackling about how "The Acolyte" is the gayest "Star Wars." I hope there will never be another chance for her(?) to create anything else for public consumption. Is it just me, or does she look a lot like Chet at the end of "Weird Science?"
I think that accolyte might get season 2 just because of spite. Or if the show REALLY is done after one season.. Leslie will be added to some other project..maybe Disney uses sarkerseans "help" on some other project that is pretty much a huge "FU" to old school fans
All logoc says this show will be cancelled...but then again all logic said this show should never have been heard as a pitch due to the block out on such things at the time. All logic would also suggest kk should have been fired a long long time ago. So yeah there should be no season 2 but who knows maybe lucas film will find a way to give us the power of 1, the power of 2, the power of many seasons
The acolyte gets cancelled. Good news, there'll just be another terrible Star Wars series in the pipe work that we will all jump up and down about and rage that it's ruining Star Wars.
This was in EU material that I'm sure isn't canon anymore, but besides The Rule of Two keeping weak apprentices from killing stronger masters, it was believed with many less Sith tapping into it that the Dark Side would flow stronger through the few users that were left. Given that the Jedi have mostly operated in large numbers, this seems to be the case given how often groups of Jedi are overwhelmed by a lone red light saber welder. Besides a more focused Dark Side, the Light Side always seemed weaker being distributed to a larger number of users . It's been a long while since I dug into the EU so I can't cite specific stories, but the Darth Bane trilogy would be where to start since it directly deals with the emergence of The Rule of Two.
Ahsoka had nothing good?.. at all?.. Daang your even tougher to please than I am.. I actually liked that Dark Jedi Baylan I think his name was.. and seeing Hayden/Anakin was pretty cool to see, I thought we'd never see him again... Aside from some minimal Saber on Saber choreography, I really can't find anything to really love about the Acolyte.. *sigh* Very different than I expected from a Darkside/Sith show..
There are three episodes left and none of you youtubers have asked the single question why haven't the star of the star wars show used the light saber yet😂😂😂
The Acolyte hasn't earned a second season. Just like Monarch: The legacy of Monsters didn't earn a second season.
“Gutted” - no one

It's nice to see they remade the holiday special for a modern audience . I wonder why they called it acolyte though 😂

@@cyberdelicxp9125 it's not really an insult to the original holiday special as it is an insult to modern remakes being far worse than the original.
I had no desire to watch the show right from the crappy trailer but having it shredded on TH-cam has given me hours of entertainment. Awesome
Can she hint out that they're isn't a second season coming when all metrics say this shouldn't get a second season?
She wants us to think it’s her decision I’m sure
The Titanic hits an iceberg and sinks, Captain hints there may be no future voyages.

Yeah, it's like watching a Jedi battle have the end results decided by dice rolls
The Acolyte needs to GET OUTTA HERE!!!
The Power of One… The Power of Two…. the Power of FAILUUUUURE! XD
It sucks they killed my favorite franchise
Lord Furball, the boys would drive you sane.
The acolyte holiday special with the same face girl singing

I wonder if she'll just quietly disappear!?

Awww, i want a second season just for the youtube content. Fuck, I'll take 7 more seasons at this point!

No unexplainable Velma style miracle for Acoshyte getting green lit for season two. #CancelAcolyte
Velma season 2 was already greenlit because animated shows are made 2 seasons at a time, it's funny when stupid people think other people are stupid
I understand Amandla was good on The Hate U Give though. This might not be her genre
Oh so sad... i'll go find her a subatomic violin
next one coming up disney skeleton crew.
Absolutely love your Leslie Headland parody voice. Your channel should be more popular, it's good
Thanks! Tell your friends!
That is disappointing, we will miss them putting Luke in there and the shill media say we are being too picky over such a small canon violation.

It’s called the Rey movie of it happens
I always thought "the headland voice" was just put on??? Then I saw an interview n realised that's actually how she talks!!!! 😅😅😅
If Daisey came back why not wait 6 years for season 2 of the Acolyte on Netflix+ in Dec 2030
I'm still confused. How was the power of one Sith stronger than the power of maaaany Jedi?

@@accursedsidor8987 I think he's referring to the power of one, the power of two, the power of many that was pushed onto us from this show 🤣
🤣I didn't even catch that, thx

I did like Ballan. You’re right. And I liked seeing Anakin but that’s another thing from better stuff that I had nostalgia for.

I’ve asked it. The review isn’t out yet
@@TooneyTownTV im thinking she wasn't athletic enough to be featured.
haha, love your shit!
Thanks! Tell your friends!
This is good news if we could be so lucky.
Well Done! I will not miss this second season!
lol disaster? What have you been watching?
